2Und er schlug die Moabiter und maß sie mit der Meßschnur, indem er sie auf die Erde legen ließ; und er maß zwei Meßschnüre ab, um zu töten, und eine volle Meßschnur, um am Leben zu lassen. Und die Moabiter wurden David zu Knechten, welche Geschenke brachten.

2And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.
