2 Samuel 2

Luego de esto, David le preguntó al SEÑOR y dijo: "¿Debo yo subir a una de las ciudades de Judá?" El SEÑOR le respondió a él: "Sube." David dijo: "¿A qué ciudad debo yo ir?" El SEÑOR respondió: "A Hebrón."

DESPUÉS de esto aconteció que David consultó á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Subiré á alguna de las ciudades de Judá? Y Jehová le respondió: Sube. Y David tornó á decir: ¿A dónde subiré? Y él le dijo: A Hebrón.

And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.

After this, David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah?” The LORD said to him, “Go up.” David said, “Where shall I go up?” He said, “To Hebron.”

Entonces David subió con sus dos esposas, Ahinoham de Jezreel, y Abigail de Carmel, la viuda de Nabal.

Y David subió allá, y con él sus dos mujeres, Ahinoam Jezreelita y Abigail, la que fué mujer de Nabal del Carmelo.

So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite.

So David went up there with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

David trajo los hombres que estaban con él, cada uno de los cuales trajo a su familia, a las ciudades de Hebrón, donde ellos empezaron a vivir.

Y llevó también David consigo los hombres que con él habían estado, cada uno con su familia; los cuales moraron en las ciudades de Hebrón.

And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.

Entonces, hombres de Judá vinieron y ungieron a David rey sobre la casa de Judá. Ellos le dijeron a David: "Los hombres de Jabes Galaad han sepultado a Saúl."

Y vinieron los varones de Judá, y ungieron allí á David por rey sobre la casa de Judá. Y dieron aviso á David, diciendo: Los de Jabes de Galaad son los que sepultaron á Saúl.

And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabesh-gilead were they that buried Saul.

Así que David envió mensajeros a los hombres de Jabes Galaad y les dijo a ellos: "Ustedes son bendecidos por el SEÑOR, ya que ustedes han mostrado esta lealtad a su amo Saúl y lo han sepultado.

Y envió David mensajeros á los de Jabes de Galaad, diciéndoles: Benditos seáis vosotros de Jehová, que habéis hecho esta misericordia con vuestro señor Saúl en haberle dado sepultura.

And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.

David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, “Blessed are you by the LORD, that you have shown this kindness to your lord, even to Saul, and have buried him.

Ahora, que el SEÑOR les muestre a ustedes pacto de lealtad y fidelidad. Yo también les mostraré a ustedes esta bondad porque ustedes han hecho esta cosa.

Ahora pues, Jehová haga con vosotros misericordia y verdad; y yo también os haré bien por esto que habéis hecho.

And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.

Now may the LORD show loving kindness and truth to you. I also will reward you for this kindness, because you have done this thing.

Ahora pues, que sus manos sean fuertes; sean valerosos pues Saúl su amo está muerto, y la casa de Judá me ha ungido como rey sobre ellos."

Esfuércense pues ahora vuestras manos, y sed valientes; pues que muerto Saúl vuestro señor, los de la casa de Judá me han ungido por rey sobre ellos.

Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be ye valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.

Pero Abner, hijo de Ner, comandante del ejército de Saúl, tomó a Isboset, hijo de Saúl, y lo trajo a Mahanaim.

Mas Abner hijo de Ner, general de ejército de Saúl, tomó á Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, é hízolo pasar al real:

But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul’s host, took Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;

Now Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul’s army, had taken Ishbosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.

Él hizo a Isboset rey sobre Galaad, Gesuri, Jezreel, Efraín, Benjamín, y sobre todo Israel.

Y alzólo por rey sobre Galaad, y sobre Gessuri, y sobre Jezreel, y sobre Ephraim, y sobre Benjamín, y sobre todo Israel.

And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.

Isboset, hijo de Saúl, tenía cuarenta años cuando comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó dos años. Pero la casa de Judá siguió a David.

De cuarenta años era Is-boseth hijo de Saúl, cuando comenzó á reinar sobre Israel; y reinó dos años. Sola la casa de Judá seguía á David.

Ish-bosheth Saul’s son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.

El tiempo que David fue rey en Hebrón sobre la casa de Judá fue siete años y seis meses.

Y fué el número de los días que David reinó en Hebrón sobre la casa de Judá, siete años y seis meses.

And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.

Abner, hijo de Ner, y los sirvientes de Isboset, hijo de Saúl, salieron desde Mahanaim a Gabaón.

Y Abner hijo de Ner salió de Mahanaim á Gabaón con los siervos de Is-boseth hijo de Saúl.

And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

Joab, hijo de Sarvia, y los sirvientes de David salieron y los encontraron a ellos en el estanque de Gabaón. Allí ellos se sentaron, un grupo a un lado del estanque y el otro al otro lado.

Y Joab hijo de Sarvia, y los siervos de David, salieron y encontráronlos junto al estanque de Gabaón: y como se juntaron, paráronse los unos de la una parte del estanque, y los otros de la otra.

And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.

Abner le dijo a Joab: "Deja que los hombres jóvenes se levanten y compitan ante nosotros." Entonces Joab dijo: "Que se levanten."

Y dijo Abner á Joab: Levántense ahora los mancebos, y maniobren delante de nosotros. Y Joab respondió: Levántense.

And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.

Abner said to Joab, “Please let the young men arise and compete before us!” Joab said, “Let them arise!”

Entonces los hombres jóvenes se levantaron y se juntaron, doce para Benjamín e Isboset hijo de Saúl, y doce de los sirvientes de David.

Entonces se levantaron, y en número de doce, pasaron de Benjamín de la parte de Is-boseth hijo de Saúl; y doce de los siervos de David.

Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.

Then they arose and went over by number: twelve for Benjamin and for Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of David’s servants.

Cada hombre agarró a su oponente por la cabeza y enterró su espada en el costado de su oponente, y ellos cayeron juntos. Por lo tanto, ese lugar fue llamado en hebreo: "Helcat Hazurim," o "Campo de las Espadas," el cual está en Gabaón.

Y cada uno echó mano de la cabeza de su compañero, y metióle su espada por el costado, cayendo así á una; por lo que fué llamado aquel lugar, Helcath-assurim, el cual está en Gabaón.

And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow’s side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkath-hazzurim, which is in Gibeon.

They each caught his opponent by the head and thrust his sword in his fellow’s side; so they fell down together. Therefore that place in Gibeon was called Helkath Hazzurim.

La batalla fue muy severa ese día y Abner y los hombres de Israel fueron derrotados delante de los sirvientes de David.

Y hubo aquel día una batalla muy recia, y Abner y los hombres de Israel fueron vencidos de los siervos de David.

And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.

The battle was very severe that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before David’s servants.

Los tres hijos de Sarvia estaban allí: Joab, y Abisai y Asael. Asael era rápido sobre sus pies como una gacela salvaje.

Y estaban allí los tres hijos de Sarvia: Joab, y Abisai, y Asael. Este Asael era suelto de pies como un corzo del campo.

And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

The three sons of Zeruiah were there: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Asahel was as light of foot as a wild gazelle.

Asael persiguió a Abner de cerca y lo siguió sin desviarse en ninguna dirección.

El cual Asael siguió á Abner, yendo tras de él sin apartarse á diestra ni á siniestra.

And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.

Asahel pursued Abner. He didn’t turn to the right hand or to the left from following Abner.

Abner miró detrás de él y dijo: "¿Ese eres tú, Asael?" Él le respondió: "Soy yo."

Y Abner miró atrás, y dijo: ¿No eres tú Asael? Y él respondió: Sí.

Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am.

Then Abner looked behind him and said, “Is that you, Asahel?” He answered, “It is.”

Abner le dijo: "Vira a tu derecha o a tu izquierda, y agarra a uno de los hombres jóvenes y toma su armadura." Pero Asael no quiso desviarse.

Entonces Abner le dijo: Apártate á la derecha ó á la izquierda, y agárrate alguno de los mancebos, y toma para ti sus despojos. Pero Asael no quiso apartarse de en pos de él.

And Abner said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay thee hold on one of the young men, and take thee his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him.

Abner said to him, “Turn away to your right hand or to your left, and grab one of the young men, and take his armor.” But Asahel would not turn away from following him.

Abner le dijo otra vez a Asael: "Deja de perseguirme. ¿Por qué habría yo de derribarte al suelo? ¿Cómo entonces podría mirar de frente a Joab, tu hermano?"

Y Abner tornó á decir á Asael: Apártate de en pos de mí, porque te heriré derribándote en tierra, y después ¿cómo levantaré mi rostro á tu hermano Joab?

And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother?

Abner said again to Asahel, “Turn away from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I look Joab your brother in the face?”

Pero Asael no quiso dejar de hacerlo, así que Abner lo apuñaló en el cuerpo con la punta chata de la lanza, de manera que la lanza salió del otro lado. Asael cayó y murió allí. Así que cualquiera que llegaba al lugar donde Asael cayó y murió, se detenía y se quedaba quieto.

Y no queriendo él irse, hiriólo Abner con el regatón de la lanza por la quinta costilla, y salióle la lanza por las espaldas, y cayó allí, y murió en aquel mismo sitio. Y todos los que venían por aquel lugar donde Asael había caído y estaba muerto, se paraban.

Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

However, he refused to turn away. Therefore Abner with the back end of the spear struck him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there and died in the same place. As many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

Pero Joab y Abisai persigueron a Abner. Cuando el sol estaba bajando, ellos vinieron a la colina de Amma, la cual está cerca de Gía por el camino al desierto de Gabaón.

Mas Joab y Abisai siguieron á Abner; y púsoseles el sol cuando llegaron al collado de Amma, que está delante de Gía, junto al camino del desierto de Gabaón.

Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

But Joab and Abishai pursued Abner. The sun went down when they had come to the hill of Ammah, that lies before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

Todos los hombres de Benjamín se juntaron detrás de Abner y se pararon en la cima de la colina.

Y juntáronse los hijos de Benjamín en un escuadrón con Abner, y paráronse en la cumbre del collado.

And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill.

Entonces Abner llamó a Joab y dijo: "¿Debe la espada devorar para siempre? ¿No sabes que al final será amargo? ¿Cuánto tiempo pasará antes de que tú le digas a tus hombres que dejen de perseguir a sus hermanos?"

Y Abner dió voces á Joab, diciendo: ¿Consumirá la espada perpetuamente? ¿no sabes tú que al cabo se sigue amargura? ¿hasta cuándo no has de decir al pueblo que se vuelvan de seguir á sus hermanos?

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, “Shall the sword devour forever? Don’t you know that it will be bitterness in the latter end? How long will it be then, before you ask the people to return from following their brothers?”

Joab respondió: "¡Vive Dios, si no hubieras dicho eso, mis soldados hubieran perseguido a sus hermanos hasta la mañana!"

Y Joab respondió: Vive Dios que si no hubieras hablado, ya desde esta mañana el pueblo hubiera dejado de seguir á sus hermanos.

And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother.

Joab said, “As God lives, if you had not spoken, surely then in the morning the people would have gone away, and not each followed his brother.”

Así que, Joab sonó la trompeta, y todos sus hombres se detuvieron y no persiguieron más a Israel, ni tampoco pelearon más.

Entonces Joab tocó el cuerno, y todo el pueblo se detuvo, y no siguió más á los de Israel, ni peleó más.

So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.

So Joab blew the trumpet; and all the people stood still and pursued Israel no more, and they fought no more.

Abner y sus hombres viajaron toda esa noche a través del Arabá. Ellos cruzaron el Jordán, marcharon toda la mañana siguiente, y entonces llegaron a Mahanaim.

Y Abner y los suyos caminaron por la campiña toda aquella noche, y pasando el Jordán cruzaron por todo Bitrón, y llegaron á Mahanaim.

And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim.

Joab regresó de perseguir a Abner. Él reunió a todos sus hombres, de los cuales faltaban Asael y diecinueve de los soldados de David.

Joab también volvió de seguir á Abner, y juntando todo el pueblo, faltaron de los siervos de David diecinueve hombres, y Asael.

And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David’s servants nineteen men and Asahel.

Joab returned from following Abner; and when he had gathered all the people together, nineteen men of David’s and Asahel were missing.

Pero los hombres de David habían matado 360 hombres de Benjamín con Abner.

Mas los siervos de David hirieron de los de Benjamín y de los de Abner, trescientos y sesenta hombres, que murieron. Tomaron luego á Asael, y sepultáronlo en el sepulcro de su padre en Beth-lehem.

But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner’s men, so that three hundred and threescore men died.

But David’s servants had struck Benjamin Abner’s men so that three hundred sixty men died.

Entonces ellos tomaron a Asael y lo sepultaron en la tumba de su padre, que estaba en Belén. Joab y sus hombres viajaron toda la noche y les cayó el día en Hebrón.

Y caminaron toda aquella noche Joab y los suyos, y amanecióles en Hebrón.

And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Beth-lehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.

They took up Asahel and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was in Bethlehem. Joab and his men went all night, and the day broke on them at Hebron.
