1ZU Davids Zeiten war einst eine Hungersnot, drei Jahre lang, ein Jahr nach dem andern. Als David das Angesicht des Herrn aufsuchte, sprach der Herr: Auf Saul und seinem Haus lastet eine Blutschuld, weil er die Gibeoniten getötet hat.
2Da liess der König die Gibeoniten rufen und sprach zu ihnen - die Gibeoniten gehörten nämlich nicht zu Israel, sondern zu dem Rest der Amoriter; obschon nun die Israeliten ihnen geschworen, hatte Saul sie doch in seinem Eifer für Israel und Juda zu vernichten gesucht -, (a) Jos 9:15 19
3David sprach also zu den Gibeoniten: Was soll ich für euch tun? und womit kann ich euch Sühne schaffen, dass ihr das Eigentum des Herrn segnet?
4Die Gibeoniten antworteten ihm: Es ist uns nicht um Silber oder Gold zu tun gegenüber Saul und seinem Hause; aber es steht uns nicht zu, einen Mann in Israel zu töten. Er sprach: Was verlangt ihr, dass ich für euch tue?
5Da sprachen sie zum König: Von den Söhnen des Mannes, der entschlossen war, uns aufzureiben, und darauf sann, uns zu vertilgen, dass wir im ganzen Gebiete Israels nicht mehr bestehen sollten,
6von dessen Söhnen sollen uns sieben Männer ausgeliefert werden, dass wir sie an den Pfahl spiessen vor dem Herrn, zu Gibeon auf dem Berge des Herrn. Der König sprach: Ich werde sie ausliefern.
7Doch verschonte der König den Meribaal, den Sohn Jonathans, des Sohnes Sauls, wegen des Eides bei dem Herrn, der zwischen ihnen bestand, zwischen David und Jonathan, dem Sohne Sauls. (1) vgl. Anm. zu 2Sa 4:4. (a) 1Sa 18:3; 20:15 16
8Aber die zwei Söhne, welche Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, dem Saul geboren hatte, Armoni und Meribaal, dazu die fünf Söhne, welche Merab, die Tochter Sauls, dem Adriel von Mehola, dem Sohne Barsillais, geboren hatte, nahm der König
9und lieferte sie den Gibeoniten aus; die pfählten sie auf dem Berge vor dem Herrn. So kamen alle sieben auf einmal um. Sie wurden aber in den ersten Tagen der Ernte getötet, zu Anfang der Gerstenernte.
10Da nahm Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, das Trauergewand und breitete es für sich (als Lager) über den Felsen aus, vom Anfang der Gerstenernte an, bis Regen vom Himmel sich über sie ergoss, und sie liess nicht zu, dass am Tage die Vögel des Himmels über sie herfielen noch des Nachts die Tiere des Feldes. 11Als man David meldete, was Rizpa, die Tochter Ajas, Sauls Kebsweib, getan hatte,
12ging David hin, liess sich von den Bürgern von Jabes in Gilead die Gebeine Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonathan herausgeben, die sie von dem grossen Platz in Bethsan heimlich weggenommen hatten, wo sie von den Philistern aufgehängt worden waren an dem Tage, da diese den Saul am Gilboa schlugen, (a) 1Sa 31:12 13
13und brachte die Gebeine Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonathan von dort herauf. Dann sammelte man die Gebeine der Gepfählten
14und begrub sie mit den Gebeinen Sauls und seines Sohnes Jonathan im Lande Benjamin zu Zela im Grabe seines Vaters Kis: man tat alles, was der König geboten hatte. So liess sich Gott für das Land gnädig stimmen.
15DARNACH brach wiederum Krieg aus zwischen den Philistern und Israel. David zog hinab und seine Knechte mit ihm, und sie setzten sich in Gob fest und stritten wider die Philister.
16Da erhob sich Dod, einer von den Riesen - sein Speer wog dreihundert Lot Erz, und er war mit einem neuen Schwert umgürtet -, und gedachte David zu erschlagen.
17Aber Abisai, der Sohn der Zeruja, kam ihm zu Hilfe und schlug den Philister tot. Damals beschworen den David seine Leute: Du darfst nicht mehr mit uns in den Kampf ziehen, dass du die Leuchte Israels nicht auslöschest! (a) 2Sa 16:9; 19:22; 23:18
18Hernach kam es bei Gob nochmals zum Kampf mit den Philistern. Damals erschlug der Husathiter Sibbechai den Saph, einen von den Riesen. (a) 1Ch 20:4-8
19Und es kam bei Gob nochmals zum Kampf mit den Philistern. Da erschlug Elhanan aus Bethlehem, der Sohn Jairs, den Goliath von Gath, dessen Speerschaft war wie ein Weberbaum. (a) 1Sa 17:4
20Und es kam nochmals zum Kampfe, und zwar bei Gath. Da war ein hochgewachsener Mann, der hatte an den Händen je sechs Finger und an den Füssen je sechs Zehen, im ganzen 24; auch der stammte von den Riesen.
21Als er nun Israel verhöhnte, erschlug ihn Jonathan, der Sohn Simeas, des Bruders Davids.
22Diese vier stammten von den Riesen in Gath, und sie fielen durch die Hand Davids und seiner Leute.

1Y EN los días de David hubo hambre por tres años consecutivos. Y David consultó á Jehová, y Jehová le dijo: Es por Saúl, y por aquella casa de sangre; porque mató á los Gabaonitas.
2Entonces el rey llamó á los Gabaonitas, y hablóles. (Los Gabaonitas no eran de los hijos de Israel, sino del residuo de los Amorrheos, á los cuales los hijos de Israel habían hecho juramento: mas Saúl había procurado matarlos con motivo de celo por los hijos de Israel y de Judá.)
3Dijo pues David á los Gabaonitas: ¿Qué os haré, y con qué expiaré para que bendigáis á la heredad de Jehová?
4Y los Gabaonitas le respondieron: No tenemos nosotros querella sobre plata ni sobre oro con Saúl y con su casa: ni queremos que muera hombre de Israel. Y él les dijo: Lo que vosotros dijereis os haré.
5Y ellos respondieron al rey: De aquel hombre que nos destruyó, y que maquinó contra nosotros, para extirparnos sin dejar nada de nosotros en todo el término de Israel;
6Dénsenos siete varones de sus hijos, para que los ahorquemos á Jehová en Gabaa de Saúl, el escogido de Jehová. Y el rey dijo: Yo los daré.
7Y perdonó el rey á Mephi-boseth, hijo de Jonathán, hijo de Saúl, por el juramento de Jehová que hubo entre ellos, entre David y Jonathán hijo de Saúl.
8Mas tomó el rey dos hijos de Rispa hija de Aja, los cuales ella había parido á Saúl, á saber, á Armoni y á Mephi-boseth; y cinco hijos de Michâl hija de Saúl, los cuales ella había parido á Adriel, hijo de Barzillai Molathita;

10Tomando luego Rispa hija de Aja un saco, tendióselo sobre un peñasco, desde el principio de la siega hasta que llovió sobre ellos agua del cielo; y no dejó á ninguna ave del cielo asentarse sobre ellos de día, ni bestias del campo de noche.
11Y fué dicho á David lo que hacía Rispa hija de Aja, concubina de Saúl.
12Entonces David fué, y tomó los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonathán su hijo, de los hombres de Jabes de Galaad, que los habían hurtado de la plaza de Beth-san, donde los habían colgado los Filisteos, cuando deshicieron los Filisteos á Saúl en Gilboa:
13E hizo llevar de allí los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonathán su hijo; y juntaron también los huesos de los ahorcados.
14Y sepultaron los huesos de Saúl y los de su hijo Jonathán en tierra de Benjamín, en Sela, en el sepulcro de Cis su padre; é hicieron todo lo que el rey había mandado. Después se aplacó Dios con la tierra.
15Y como los Filisteos tornaron á hacer guerra á Israel, descendió David y sus siervos con él, y pelearon con los Filisteos: y David se cansó.
16En esto Isbi-benob, el cual era de los hijos del gigante, y el peso de cuya lanza era de trescientos siclos de metal, y tenía él ceñida una nueva espada, trató de herir á David:
17Mas Abisai hijo de Sarvia le socorrió, é hirió al Filisteo, y matólo. Entonces los hombres de David le juraron, diciendo: Nunca más de aquí adelante saldrás con nosotros á batalla, porque no apagues la lámpara de Israel.
18Otra segunda guerra hubo después en Gob contra los Filisteos: entonces Sibechâi Husathita hirió á Saph, que era de los hijos del gigante.
19Otra guerra hubo en Gob contra los Filisteos, en la cual Elhanan, hijo de Jaare-oregim de Beth-lehem, hirió á Goliath Getheo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un enjullo de telar.
20Después hubo otra guerra en Gath, donde hubo un hombre de grande altura, el cual tenía doce dedos en las manos, y otros doce en los pies, veinticuatro en todos: y también era de los hijos del gigante.
21Este desafió á Israel, y matólo Jonathán, hijo de Sima hermano de David.
22Estos cuatro le habían nacido al gigante en Gath, los cuales cayeron por la mano de David, y por la mano de sus siervos.

1Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
2And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
3Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
4And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
5And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
6Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give them.
7But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
9And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
10And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
13And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
15Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
16And Ishbi-benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.
17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.
18And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
19And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Beth-lehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
20And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
22These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

1There was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, “It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”
2The king called the Gibeonites and said to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites, and the children of Israel had sworn to them; and Saul sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);
3and David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for you? And with what should I make atonement, that you may bless the LORD’s inheritance?”
4The Gibeonites said to him, “It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel.” He said, “I will do for you whatever you say.”
5They said to the king, “The man who consumed us and who plotted against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,
6let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD.” The king said, “I will give them.”
7But the king spared Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

15The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. David grew faint;
16and Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, he being armed with a new sword, thought he would kill David.
17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “Don’t go out with us to battle any more, so that you don’t quench the lamp of Israel.”
18After this, there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.
19There was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite’s brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
20There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on every hand and six toes on every foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was born to the giant.
21When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David’s brother, killed him.
22These four were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
