2Der König ließ die Gibeoniten kommen und fragte sie - die Gibeoniten gehören nämlich nicht zu den Israeliten, sondern zu den Überbleibseln der Amoriter; obgleich nun die Israeliten ihnen dereinst Verschonung zugeschworen hatten, versuchte Saul in seinem Eifer für die Israeliten und Judäer sie auszurotten.
