2Assim Davi convocou os gibeonitas e falou com eles. Eles não faziam parte do povo de Israel, porém era o povo que havia restado da nação dos amorreus. Israel havia feito um acordo para poupar esse povo; Saul, porém, em seu exagerado zelo patriótico, procurou destruí-los.
