12mandou uma ordem aos homens de Jabes-Gileade para trazerem a ele os ossos de Saul e de Jônatas. Os homens de Jabes-Gileade haviam roubado os corpos de Saul e de Jônatas da praça pública em Bete-Seã, onde os filisteus os expuseram no dia em que mataram Saul no monte Gilboa.

12Entonces David fué, y tomó los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonathán su hijo, de los hombres de Jabes de Galaad, que los habían hurtado de la plaza de Beth-san, donde los habían colgado los Filisteos, cuando deshicieron los Filisteos á Saúl en Gilboa:
