Or egli avvenne, che vi si trovò un uomo di Belial per nome Seba, figliuolo di Bochri della tribù di Beniamin: ed egli suonò la tromba, e disse: Noi non abbiam che fare con Davidde, nè cosa in comune col figliuolo d'Isai. Torna, o Israele, alle tue tende.

Y ACAECIÓ estar allí un hombre perverso que se llamaba Seba, hijo de Bichri, hombre de Benjamín, el cual tocó la corneta, y dijo: No tenemos nosotros parte en David, ni heredad en el hijo de Isaí: Israel, ¡cada uno á sus estancias!

And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.

E tutto Israele si separò da Davidde, e seguitò Seba figliuolo di Bochri: ma que' di Giuda stetter sempre a' fianchi del loro re dal Giordano fino a Gerusalemme.

Así se fueron de en pos de David todos los hombres de Israel, y seguían á Seba hijo de Bichri: mas los de Judá fueron adheridos á su rey, desde el Jordán hasta Jerusalem.

So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

Ma il re tosto che fu arrivato in sua casa a Gerusalemme, fece prendere le dieci concubine lasciate a custodire la casa, e le fece rinchiudere, somministrando loro gli alimenti, e non si accostò ad esse, ma si stetter rinchiuse vivendo quai vedove fino al giorno della loro morte.

Y luego que llegó David á su casa en Jerusalem, tomó el rey las diez mujeres concubinas que había dejado para guardar la casa, y púsolas en una casa en guarda, y dióles de comer: pero nunca más entró á ellas, sino que quedaron encerradas hasta que murieron en viudez de por vida.

And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.

E David disse ad Abisai: Ora ci darà più da fare Seba figliuolo di Bochri, che Assalonne. Prendi adunque i servi del tuo signore, va in traccia di esso, affinchè non si assicuri forse in alcuna delle città forti, e ci scappi dalle mani.

Y dijo David á Abisai: Seba hijo de Bichri nos hará ahora más mal que Absalom: toma pues tú los siervos de tu señor, y ve tras él, no sea que halle las ciudades fortificadas, y se nos vaya de delante.

And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.

David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your lord’s servants and pursue after him, lest he get himself fortified cities, and escape out of our sight.”

Partì egli adunque insieme cogli uomini di Gioab, e que' di Cerethi, e di Phelethi: e tutti i più valorosi partirono da Gerusalemme per tener dietro a Seba figliuolo di Bochri.

Entonces salieron en pos de él los hombres de Joab, y los Ceretheos y Peletheos, y todos los valientes: salieron de Jerusalem para ir tras Seba hijo de Bichri.

And there went out after him Joab’s men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

E quand'essi furono arrivati presso alla gran pietra che è in Gabaon, Amasa venne ad incontrarli. Or Gioab era vestito di una tonaca stretta misurata appuntino alla sua corporatura, e sopra di questa avea la spada appesa a' fianchi nel suo fodero, e talmente fatta che per ogni legger movimento poteva uscir fuora, e fare il colpo.

Y estando ellos cerca de la grande peña que está en Gabaón, salióles Amasa al encuentro. Ahora bien, la vestidura que Joab tenía sobrepuesta estábale ceñida, y sobre ella el cinto de una daga pegada á sus lomos en su vaina, de la que así como él avanzó, cayóse aquélla.

When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.

Entonces Joab dijo á Amasa: ¿Tienes paz, hermano mío? Y tomó Joab con la diestra la barba de Amasa, para besarlo.

And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.

Or Amasa non fece attenzione alla spada, che avea Gioab, e questi lo ferì nel fianco, e fecegli cadere gli intestini per terra, e senz'altro colpo quegli si morì. E Gioab con Abisai suo fratello tenner dietro a Seba figliuolo di Bochri.

Y como Amasa no se cuidó de la daga que Joab en la mano tenía, hirióle éste con ella en la quinta costilla, y derramó sus entrañas por tierra, y cayó muerto sin darle segundo golpe. Después Joab y su hermano Abisai fueron en seguimiento de Seba hijo de Bichri.

But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

Frattanto alcuni dei compagni di Gioab rimasi presso al cadavere di Amasa dicevano: Ecco colui, che voleva essere compagno di Davidde in luogo dì Gioab.

Y uno de los criados de Joab se paró junto á él, diciendo: Cualquiera que amare á Joab y á David vaya en pos de Joab.

And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him go after Joab.

One of Joab’s young men stood by him, and said, “He who favors Joab, and he who is for David, let him follow Joab!”

E Amasa giaceva in mezzo alla strada coperto di sangue: e qualcheduno osservò, come si fermava tutta la gente per vederlo, e strascinò Amasa fuor della strada in un campo, e coprillo con un mantello, affinchè que' che passavano, non si fermassero a mirarlo.

Y Amasa se había revolcado en la sangre en mitad del camino: y viendo aquel hombre que todo el pueblo se paraba, apartó á Amasa del camino al campo, y echó sobre él una vestidura, porque veía que todos los que venían se paraban junto á él.

And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.

E tolto ch'ei fu dalla strada, tutta la gente seguitava Gioab per tener dietro a Seba figliuolo di Bochri.

Luego, pues, que fué apartado del camino, pasaron todos los que seguían á Joab, para ir tras Seba hijo de Bichri.

Y vinieron y cercáronlo en Abel de Beth-maachâ, y pusieron baluarte contra la ciudad; y puesto que fué al muro, todo el pueblo que estaba con Joab trabajaba por derribar la muralla.

And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.

Ma una saggia donna di quella città, gridò: Udite, udite: dite a Gioab, che si appressi, perocché io ho da parlargli.

Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.

Ed essendosi egli fatto innanzi, dissegli colei: Se' tu Gioab? Ed egli rispose: Son io. Ed ella così gli parlò: Ascolta le parole della tua serva. Ed ei rispose: Ascolto.

Y como él se acercó á ella, dijo la mujer: ¿Eres tú Joab? Y él respondió: Yo soy. Y ella le dijo: Oye las palabras de tu sierva. Y él respondió: Oigo.

And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.

He came near to her; and the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He answered, “I am.” Then she said to him, “Hear the words of your servant.” He answered, “I’m listening.”

E quella soggiunse: Fu già antico proverbio: Chi chiede consiglio, cerchi consiglio in Abela: e così conseguivano il loro intento.

Entonces tornó ella á hablar, diciendo: Antiguamente solían hablar, diciendo: Quien preguntare, pregunte en Abel: y así concluían.

Then she spake, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They shall surely ask counsel at Abel: and so they ended the matter.

Then she spoke, saying, “They used to say in old times, ‘They shall surely ask counsel at Abel,’ and so they settled a matter.

Non son io colei, che do risposte veraci io Israele? e tu cerchi di rovinare una città, di esterminare una madre iti Israele? Perchè vuoi tu sperdere l'eredità del Signore?

Yo soy de las pacíficas y fieles de Israel: y tú procuras destruir una ciudad que es madre de Israel: ¿por qué destruyes la heredad de Jehová?

I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?

I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up the LORD’s inheritance?”

Rispose Gioab: Mai no, mai no: io non disperdo, io non distruggo.

Y Joab respondió, diciendo: Nunca tal, nunca tal me acontezca, que yo destruya ni deshaga.

And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

Il fatto non è così: ma un uomo della tribù di Ephraim, Seba detto, figliuolo di Bochri, si è ribellato contro il re Davidde: dateci lui solo, e ci ritireremo dalla città. E la donna disse a Gioab: Or ora ti sarà gettata la sua testa dalla muraglia.

La cosa no es así: mas un hombre del monte de Ephraim, que se llama Seba hijo de Bichri, ha levantado su mano contra el rey David: entregad á ése solamente, y me iré de la ciudad. Y la mujer dijo á Joab: He aquí su cabeza te será echada desde el muro.

The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.

Ella adunque andò attorno discorrendo a tutto il popolo con sagge parole: e quegli troncato il capo di Seba figliuolo di Bochri, lo gettarono a Gioab, il quale fece sonar la tromba, e si ritirò ognuno dalla città per andarsene alle sue tende: e Gioab tornò al re a Gerusalemme.

La mujer fué luego á todo el pueblo con su sabiduría; y ellos cortaron la cabeza á Seba hijo de Bichri, y echáronla á Joab. Y él tocó la corneta, y esparciéronse de la ciudad, cada uno á su estancia. Y Joab se volvió al rey á Jerusalem.

Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.

Gioab pertanto ebbe il comando di tutto l'esercito d'Israele; e Banaia figliuolo di Joiada comandava a quelli di Cereti, e di Phelethi.

Así quedó Joab sobre todo el ejército de Israel; y Benaía hijo de Joiada sobre los Ceretheos y Peletheos;

E Adura presedeva ai tributi, e Giosaphat figliuolo di Ahilud era segretario.
