6Car tu aimes ceux qui te haïssent et tu hais ceux qui t'aiment. Tu as déclaré aujourd'hui que tes princes et tes serviteurs ne sont rien pour toi. Je vois bien aujourd'hui que si Absalom était en vie et que nous fussions tous morts aujourd'hui, cela t'aurait semblé bon.

6In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

6in that you love those who hate you and hate those who love you. For you have declared today that princes and servants are nothing to you. For today I perceive that if Absalom had lived and we had all died today, then it would have pleased you well.
