2 Samuel 18

E i combattenti si azzuffarono rottamente chi qua, chi là per tutto quel tratto, e molti più furono quelli del popolo, che in fuggendo periron pel bosco, che quelli che furon trucidati dalla spada in quel giorno:

Y derramándose allí el ejército por la haz de toda la tierra, fueron más los que consumió el bosque de los del pueblo, que los que consumió el cuchillo aquel día.

For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.
