Luego Ahitofel dijo a Absalón: "Ahora déjame escoger doce mil hombres y subiré y perseguiré a David esta noche.

ENTONCES Achitophel dijo á Absalom: Yo escogeré ahora doce mil hombres, y me levantaré, y seguiré á David esta noche;

Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

Yo vendré sobre él mientras está cansado y débil y lo sorprenderé con temor. Las personas que están con él huirán y yo atacaré sólo al rey.

Y daré sobre él cuando él estará cansado y flaco de manos: lo atemorizaré, y todo el pueblo que está con él huirá, y heriré al rey solo.

And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:

I will come on him while he is weary and exhausted, and will make him afraid. All the people who are with him will flee. I will strike the king only,

Yo traeré de vuelta a todas las personas a ti, como una novia viniendo a su esposo, y todo el pueblo estará en paz debajo de ti."

Así tornaré á todo el pueblo á ti: y cuando ellos hubieren vuelto, (pues aquel hombre es el que tú quieres) todo el pueblo estará en paz.

And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

and I will bring back all the people to you. The man whom you seek is as if all returned. All the people shall be in peace.”

Lo que Ahitofel dijo agradó a Absalón y todos los ancianos de Israel.

Luego Absalón dijo: "Ahora, tambien llama a Husai el Arquita, y déjanos oir lo que él dice."

Y dijo Absalom: Llama también ahora á Husai Arachîta, para que asimismo oigamos lo que él dirá.

Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.

Then Absalom said, “Now call Hushai the Archite also, and let’s hear likewise what he says.”

Cuando Husai hubo venido a Absalón, Absalón le explicó a él lo que Ahitofel había dicho y luego preguntó a Husai: "¿Debemos nosotros hacer lo que Ahitofel ha dicho? Si no, dinos lo que recomiendas."

Y como Husai vino á Absalom, hablóle Absalom, diciendo: Así ha dicho Achitophel; ¿seguiremos su consejo, ó no? Di tú.

And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.

When Hushai had come to Absalom, Absalom spoke to him, saying, “Ahithophel has spoken like this. Shall we do what he says? If not, speak up.”

Así que Husai dijo a Absalón: "La recomendación que Ahitofel ha dado esta vez no es buena."

Entonces Husai dijo á Absalom: El consejo que ha dado esta vez Achitophel no es bueno.

And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

Hushai said to Absalom, “The counsel that Ahithophel has given this time is not good.”

Husai añadió: "Tú sabes que tu padre y sus hombres son guerreros fuertes, y que ellos son furiosos como una osa a la que se le ha robado sus cachorros en el campo. Tu padre es un hombre de guerra; él no dormirá con el ejército esta noche.

Y añadió Husai: Tú sabes que tu padre y los suyos son hombres valientes, y que están con amargura de ánimo, como la osa en el campo cuando le han quitado los hijos. Además, tu padre es hombre de guerra, y no tendrá la noche con el pueblo.

For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

Hushai said moreover, “You know your father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are fierce in their minds, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field. Your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

Mira, ahora mismo él está probablemente escondido en algún hoyo o en algún otro lugar. Sucederá que cuando algunos de tus hombres hayan sido asesinados al comienzo del ataque, que quien lo escuche dirá, 'Una matanza se ha llevado a cabo entre los soldados que siguen a Absalón.'

He aquí él estará ahora escondido en alguna cueva, ó en otro lugar: y si al principio cayeren algunos de los tuyos, oirálo quien lo oyere, y dirá: El pueblo que sigue á Absalom ha sido derrotado.

Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

Behold, he is now hidden in some pit, or in some other place. It will happen, when some of them have fallen at the first, that whoever hears it will say, ‘There is a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom!’

Luego los soldados más valientes, cuyos corazones son como el de león, tendrán miedo porque todo Israel sabe que tu padre es un hombre poderoso, y que los hombres que están con él son muy fuertes.

Así aun el hombre valiente, cuyo corazón sea como corazón de león, sin duda desmayará: porque todo Israel sabe que tu padre es hombre valiente, y que los que están con él son esforzados.

And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

Even he who is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt; for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and those who are with him are valiant men.

Así que yo te recomiendo que todo Israel debe reunirse junto a ti, desde Dan a Beerseba, cual numeroso como las arenas que están junto al mar, y que tú vayas a la batalla en persona.

Aconsejo pues que todo Israel se junte á ti, desde Dan hasta Beer-seba, en multitud como la arena que está á la orilla de la mar, y que tú en persona vayas á la batalla.

Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.

But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in your own person.

Luego nosotros vendremos sobre él donde quiera que él se encuentre, y nosotros los cubriremos como el rocío cae en la tierra. No dejaremos aun uno de sus hombres, o él mismo, vivo.

Entonces le acometeremos en cualquier lugar que pudiere hallarse, y daremos sobre él como cuando el rocío cae sobre la tierra, y ni uno dejaremos de él, y de todos los que con él están.

So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.

So we will come on him in some place where he will be found, and we will light on him as the dew falls on the ground, then we will not leave so much as one of him and of all the men who are with him.

Si él se retira a una ciudad, luego todo Israel traerá sogas a esa ciudad y nosotros la arrastraremos al río, hasta que no haya ni una piedra pequeña ahí." Luego Absalón y los hombres de Israel dijeron:

Y si se recogiere en alguna ciudad, todos los de Israel traerán sogas á aquella ciudad, y la arrastraremos hasta el arroyo, que nunca más parezca piedra de ella.

Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

Moreover, if he has gone into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there isn’t one small stone found there.”

"El consejo de Husai el Arquita es mejor que el de Ahitofel." El SEÑOR había ordenado el rechazo del buen consejo de Ahitofel para traer destrucción a Absalón.

Entonces Absalom y todos los de Israel dijeron: El consejo de Husai Arachîta es mejor que el consejo de Achitophel. Porque había Jehová ordenado que el acertado consejo de Achitophel se frustrara, para que Jehová hiciese venir el mal sobre Absalom.

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.” For the LORD had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil on Absalom.

Luego Husai dijo a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abitatar: "Ahitofel aconsejó a Absalón y los ancianos de Israel de tal y tal manera, pero yo he recomendado otra cosa.

Dijo luego Husai á Sadoc y á Abiathar sacerdotes: Así y así aconsejó Achitophel á Absalom y á los ancianos de Israel: y de esta manera aconsejé yo.

Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.

Then Hushai said to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, “Ahithophel counseled Absalom and the elders of Israel that way; and I have counseled this way.

Entonces ahora, ve rápidamente e informa a David; dile a él, 'No acampes esta noche en los vados de Arabá, pero por todos los medios crúzalo, o el rey será tragado junto con toda la gente que está con él."'

Por tanto enviad inmediatamente, y dad aviso á David, diciendo: No quedes esta noche en los campos del desierto, sino pasa luego el Jordán, porque el rey no sea consumido, y todo el pueblo que con él está.

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, ‘Don’t lodge tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people who are with him.’”

Ahora Jonatán y Ahimaas estaban quedándose en el manantial de En- Rogel. Una sirvienta solía ir e informarles a ellos lo que ellos necesitaban saber, puesto que ellos no podían arriesgar el ser vistos entrando a la ciudad. Cuando el mensaje llegó, luego ellos debían ir y decirle al rey David.

Y Jonathán y Ahimaas estaban junto á la fuente de Rogel, porque no podían ellos mostrarse viniendo á la ciudad; fué por tanto una criada, y dióles el aviso: y ellos fueron, y noticiáronlo al rey David.

Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.

Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying by En Rogel; and a female servant used to go and report to them, and they went and told King David; for they couldn’t risk being seen coming into the city.

Pero un joven los vio esta vez y le dijo a Absalón. Así que Jonatán y Ahimaas se fueron rápidamente y llegaron a la casa de un hombre en Bahurim quien tenía un pozo en su patio, dentro del cual ellos descendieron.

Empero fueron vistos por un mozo, el cual dió cuenta á Absalom: sin embargo los dos se dieron priesa á caminar, y llegaron á casa de un hombre en Bahurim, que tenía un pozo en su patio, dentro del cual se metieron.

Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man’s house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down.

But a boy saw them, and told Absalom. Then they both went away quickly and came to the house of a man in Bahurim, who had a well in his court; and they went down there.

La esposa del hombre tomó la cubierta para el pozo y la extendió sobre la abertura del pozo y roció granos sobre éste, así que nadie sabía que Jonatán y Ahimaas estaban en el pozo.

Y tomando la mujer de la casa una manta, extendióla sobre la boca del pozo, y tendió sobre ella el grano trillado; y no se penetró el negocio.

And the woman took and spread a covering over the well’s mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.

The woman took and spread the covering over the well’s mouth, and spread out crushed grain on it; and nothing was known.

Los hombres de Absalón vinieron a la mujer de la casa y dijeron: "¿Dónde están Ahimaas y Jonatán?" La mujer le dijo a ellos: "Ellos han cruzado el río." Así que después de ellos haberlos buscado alrededor y no haberlos encontrados, regresaron a Jerusalén.

Llegando luego los criados de Absalom á la casa á la mujer, dijéronle: ¿Dónde están Ahimaas y Jonathán? Y la mujer les respondió: Ya han pasado el vado de las aguas. Y como ellos los buscaron y no los hallaron, volviéronse á Jerusalem.

And when Absalom’s servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

Absalom’s servants came to the woman to the house; and they said, “Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman said to them, “They have gone over the brook of water.” When they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

Sucedió que después que ellos se habían ido, Jonatán y Ahimaas subieron para salir fuera del pozo. Ellos fueron a reportarse al rey David; ellos le dijeron a él: "Levántate y cruza rápidamente sobre el agua porque Ahitofel ha dado tal y cual consejo sobre ti."

Y después que ellos se hubieron ido, estotros salieron del pozo, y fuéronse, y dieron aviso al rey David; y dijéronle: Levantaos y daos priesa á pasar las aguas, porque Achitophel ha dado tal consejo contra vosotros.

And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counselled against you.

After they had departed, they came up out of the well and went and told King David; and they said to David, “Arise and pass quickly over the water; for thus has Ahithophel counseled against you.”

Luego David subió y toda la gente que estaba con él, y ellos cruzaron sobre el Jordán. En la luz de la mañana ninguno de ellos había dejado de cruzar sobre el Jordán.

Entonces David se levantó, y todo el pueblo que con él estaba, y pasaron el Jordán antes que amaneciese; ni siquiera faltó uno que no pasase el Jordán.

Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

Cuando Ahitofel vio que su consejo no se había seguido, él ensilló su burro y se fue. Él fue a su hogar a su propia ciudad, puso sus asuntos en orden y el mismo se colgó. De esta manera él murió y fue enterrado en la tumba de su padre.

Y Achitophel, viendo que no se había puesto por obra su consejo, enalbardó su asno, y levantóse, y fuése á su casa en su ciudad; y después de disponer acerca de su casa, ahorcóse y murió, y fué sepultado en el sepulcro de su padre.

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, arose, and went home to his city, set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

Luego David vino a Mahanaim. En cuanto a Absalón, él cruzó sobre el Jordán, él y todos los hombres de Israel con él.

Y David llegó á Mahanaim, y Absalom pasó el Jordán con toda la gente de Israel.

Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

Absalón había puesto a Amasa sobre el ejército en vez de Joab. Amasa era el hijo de Itra el ismaelita, quien había dormido con Abigail, quien era la hija de Nahas y hermana de Sarvia, la madre de Joab.

Y Absalom constituyó á Amasa sobre el ejército en lugar de Joab, el cual Amasa fué hijo de un varón de Israel llamado Itra, el cual había entrado á Abigail hija de Naas, hermana de Sarvia, madre de Joab.

And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man’s son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab’s mother.

Absalom set Amasa over the army instead of Joab. Now Amasa was the son of a man whose name was Ithra the Israelite, who went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah, Joab’s mother.

Entonces Israel y Absalón acamparon en la tierra de Galaad.

Y asentó campo Israel con Absalom en tierra de Galaad.

So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

Acontenció que cuando David había llegado a Mahanaim, que Sobi hijo de Nahas de Rabá de los amonitas, y Maquir hijo de Amiel de Lodebar, y Barzilai el Galaadita de Rogelim,

Y luego que David llegó á Mahanaim, Sobi hijo de Naas de Rabba de los hijos de Ammon, y Machîr hijo de Ammiel de Lodebar, y Barzillai Galaadita de Rogelim,

And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lo-debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

When David had come to Mahanaim, Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

trajo colchonetas para dormir y cobijas, tazones y potes, y trigo, harina de cebada, granos rostizados, frijoles, lentejas,

Trajeron á David y al pueblo que estaba con él, camas, y tazas, y vasijas de barro, y trigo, y cebada, y harina, y grano tostado, habas, lentejas, y garbanzos tostados,

Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentiles, and parched pulse,

brought beds, basins, earthen vessels, wheat, barley, meal, parched grain, beans, lentils, roasted grain,

miel, mantequilla, ovejas, y cuajada de leche, para que David y las personas con él comieran. Estos hombres habían dicho: "El pueblo está hambriento, cansado y sediento en el desierto"

Miel, manteca, ovejas, y quesos de vacas, para que comiesen; porque dijeron: Aquel pueblo está hambriento, y cansado, y tendrá sed en el desierto.

And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.
