25Respondió David al mensajero: Le dirás a Joab: No desmayes por ese fracaso; porque los acaecimientos de la guerra son varios, y una vez éste, otra vez aquél, perecen algunos al filo de la espada. Reanima a tus guerreros contra la ciudad, y esfuérzalos hasta destruirla.

25Y David dijo al mensajero: Dirás así á Joab: No tengas pesar de esto, que de igual y semejante manera suele consumir la espada: esfuerza la batalla contra la ciudad, hasta que la rindas. Y tú aliéntale.

25Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shalt thou say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease thee, for the sword devoureth one as well as another: make thy battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage thou him.
