6Les fils d'Ammon, voyant que le peuple de David se tenait pour outragé, firent partir des messagers, et ils enrôlèrent à prix d'or les Syriens de Bethraam, ceux de Suba, ceux de Rhoob, qui leur fournirent vingt mille piétons ; le roi d'Amalec en fournit mille, et Istob douze mille.

6And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ish-tob twelve thousand men.
