6Al darse cuenta los amonitas de que se habían ganado el odio de David, contrataron mercenarios sirios de Bet-rehob y de Soba (veinte mil soldados de infantería), además del rey de Maaca con mil hombres y doce mil soldados de Tob.

6Y viendo los hijos de Ammón que se habían hecho odiosos á David, enviaron los hijos de Ammón y tomaron á sueldo á los Siros de la casa de Rehob, y á los Siros de Soba, veinte mil hombres de á pie: y del rey de Maaca mil hombres, y de Is-tob doce mil hombres.

6And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ish-tob twelve thousand men.
