Ma il profeta Eliseo chiamò uno de' figliuoli de' profeti, e gli disse: Cingi i tuoi fianchi, e prendi questa ampolla d'olio in mano, e va a Ramoth di Galaad.

ENTONCES el profeta Eliseo llamó á uno de los hijos de los profetas, y díjole: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma esta alcuza de aceite en tu mano, y ve á Ramoth de Galaad.

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:

Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

E giunto colà, vedrai Jehu figliuolo di Josaphat, figliuolo di Namsi, e appressandoti a lui. Lo tirerai a parte dall'adunanza de' suoi fratelli, e lo condurrai in una camera rimota.

Y cuando llegares allá, verás allí á Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi; y entrando, haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y mételo en la recámara.

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.

E presa l'ampolla dell'olio, la verserai sul capo di lui, dicendo: Queste cose dice il Signore: Io ti ho unto in re d'Israele. E aprirai la porta, e fuggirai, e non ti fermerai in quel luogo.

Toma luego la alcuza de aceite, y derrámala sobre su cabeza, y di: Así dijo Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel. Y abriendo la puerta, echa á huir, y no esperes.

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘The LORD says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

Il giovine adunque ministro del profeta andò a Ramoth di Galaad,

Fué pues el mozo, el mozo del profeta, á Ramoth de Galaad.

So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.

E quando ei giunse colà, vide come i principi dell'esercito erano assisi, e disse: Ho da dire una parola a te, o principe. E Jehu disse: A chi di tutti noi? E quegli rispose: A te, o principe.

Y como él entró, he aquí los príncipes del ejército que estaban sentados. Y él dijo: Príncipe, una palabra tengo que decirte. Y Jehú dijo: ¿A cuál de todos nosotros? Y él dijo: A ti, príncipe.

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”

Ed egli si alzò, ed entrò in una camera. Ma quegli versò l'olio sul capo di lui, e disse: Il Signore Dio d'Israele dice così: Io ti ho unto re del popol mio d'Israele.

Y él se levantó, y entróse en casa; y el otro derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza, y díjole: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

E sterminerai la casa di Achab tuo signore, e io farò vendetta del sangue de' profeti miei servi, e del sangue di tutti i servi del Signore sopra Jezabele.

Y herirás la casa de Achâb tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová, de la mano de Jezabel.

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

E distruggerò tutta la casa di Achab, e ucciderò fino i cani della casa di Achab, e i rinchiusi, e gli ultimi d'Israele.

Y perecerá toda la casa de Achâb, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, así al guardado como al desamparado en Israel.

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

E farò della casa di Achab, come della casa di Geroboam figliuolo di Nabath, e come della casa di Baasa figliuolo di Ahia.

Y yo pondré la casa de Achâb como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía.

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

I will make Ahab’s house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

E la stessa Jezabele sarà divorata dai cani nella campagna di Jezrael, e non avrà chi le dia sepoltura. Indi egli aperse la porta, e fuggi.

Y á Jezabel comerán perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. En seguida abrió la puerta, y echó á huir.

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be no one to bury her.’” Then he opened the door and fled.

E Jehu andò dov' erano i servi del suo signore, i quali gli dissero: Va bene ogni cosa? A qual fine è venuto quel pazzo a trovarti? Egli disse loro: Voi conoscete l'uomo, e i suoi discorsi.

Después salió Jehú á los siervos de su señor, y dijéronle: ¿Hay paz? ¿para qué entró á ti aquel loco? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis al hombre y sus palabras.

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”

Ma quelli risposero: Non è vero; ma tu piuttosto fanne a noi il racconto. Ed egli disse loro: Ei mi ha detto questo, e questo, e ha soggiunto: Queste cose dice il Signore: Ti ho unto re sopra Israele.

Y ellos dijeron: Mentira; decláranoslo ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo te he ungido por rey sobre Israel.

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘The LORD says, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”

Si alzarono quegli in fretta, e prendendo ciascun di essi il proprio mantello li posero sotto a' piedi di lui, facendo come un tribunale, e sonaron la tromba, e dissero: Jehu è fatto re.

Entonces tomaron prestamente su ropa, y púsola cada uno debajo de él en un trono alto, y tocaron corneta, y dijeron: Jehú es rey.

Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”

Jehu pertanto figliuolo di Josaphat, figliuolo di Namsi, fece congiura contro Joram. Or Joram con tutto Israele assediava Ramoth di Galaad contro Hazael re della Siria.

Así conjuró Jehú hijo de Josaphat hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Estaba Joram guardando á Ramoth de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael rey de Siria.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

Ed era tornato indietro a Jezrael per farsi curare delle ferite, che avea ricevute dai Siri combattendo contro Hazael re di Siria. Or Jehu disse Se così vi piace, nissuno esca, o si fugga dalla città, affinchè non vada a portar la nuova a Jezrael.

Habíase empero vuelto el rey Joram á Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los Siros le habían hecho, peleando contra Hazael rey de Siria.) Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestra voluntad, ninguno escape de la ciudad, para ir á dar las nuevas en Jezreel.

But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.

E si mosse egli, e andò verso Jezrael: perocché ivi si trovava Joram ammalato, e Ochozia re di Giuda era andato per visitare Joram.

Entonces Jehú cabalgó, y fuése á Jezreel, porque Joram estaba allí enfermo. También Ochôzías rey de Judá había descendido á visitar á Joram.

La sentinella pertanto, la quale stava sulla torre di Jezrael, vide la schiera di Jehu, che veniva, e disse: Veggo una schiera. E Joram disse: Si prenda un cocchio, e si mandi alcuno incontro a coloro, e chi anderà, dica loro: Va bene ogni cosa?

Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel, vió la cuadrilla de Jehú, que venía, y dijo: Yo veo una cuadrilla. Y Joram dijo: Toma uno de á caballo, y envía á reconocerlos, y que les diga: ¿Hay paz?

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

Andò adunque quegli, che era salito sul cocchio, incontro a Jehu, e disse: il re manda a dirti: È egli il tutto in pace? E Jehu disse: Che importa a te della pace? passa, e vieni dietro a me. E la sentinella diede avviso, e disse: Il messo è arrivato, dove son coloro, ma egli non torna indietro.

Fué pues el de á caballo á reconocerlos, y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí. El atalaya dió luego aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, y no vuelve.

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, “the king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”

E (Joram) mandò anche il secondo cocchio, e il messo arrivò presso a coloro, e disse: Il re ha detto: Abbiam noi pace? Ma Jehu disse: Che importa a te della pace? passa, e vieni dietro a me.

Entonces envió otro de á caballo, el cual llegando á ellos, dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? vuélvete tras mí.

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

E la sentinella diede avviso, e disse: (Il messo) è arrivato, dove son coloro, ma egli non torna: or colui, che viene in qua sembra all'andatura Jehu figliuolo di Namsi; perocché cammina a precipizio.

El atalaya volvió á decir: También éste llegó á ellos y no vuelve: mas el marchar del que viene es como el marchar de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente.

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”

E Joram disse: Si ammannisca il cocchio. E fu ammannito il suo cocchio; e Joram re d'Israele, e Ochozia re di Giuda partirono ciascheduno sul suo cocchio, per andar incontro a Jehu, e lo trovarono nel campo di Naboth Jezraelita.

Entonces Joram dijo: Unce. Y uncido que fué su carro, salió Joram rey de Israel, y Ochôzías rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron á encontrar á Jehú, al cual hallaron en la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel.

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.

E Joram appena vide Jehu, disse: Jehu, abbiam noi pace? Ma quegli rispose: Che pace? Le fornicazioni, e i molti venefici di Jezabele tua madre menan tuttavia gran rumore.

Y en viendo Joram á Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de Jezabel tu madre, y sus muchas hechicerías?

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”

E Joram voltò indietro, e fuggendo disse ad Ochozia: Tradimenti, o Ochozia.

Entonces Joram volviendo la mano huyó, y dijo á Ochôzías: ¡Traición, Ochôzías!

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

Ma Jehu tese il suo arco, e ferì Joram nel mezzo delle spalle, e la saetta gli usci pel cuore, e cadde subitamente sul suo cocchio.

Mas Jehú flechó su arco, é hirió á Joram entre las espaldas, y la saeta salió por su corazón, y cayó en su carro.

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

E Jehu disse a Badacer capitano: Prendilo, e gettalo nel campo di Naboth Jezraelita; perocché mi ricordo, che quando io, e tu sedendo nel cocchio andavamo dietro ad Achab padre di costui, il Signore pronuncio contro di lui questa sentenza, dicendo:

Dijo luego Jehú á Bidkar su capitán: Tómalo y échalo á un cabo de la heredad de Naboth de Jezreel. Acuérdate que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Achâb su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo:

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden on him:

Io giuro (dice il Signore), che in questo campo farò vendetta sopra di te del sangue ai Naboth, e del sangue de' suoi figliuoli, che io vidi ieri. Ora adunque prendilo, e gettalo nel campo secondo la parola del Signore.

Que yo he visto ayer las sangres de Naboth, y las sangres de sus hijos, dijo Jehová; y tengo de darte la paga en esta heredad, dijo Jehová. Tómalo pues ahora, y échalo en la heredad, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says the LORD; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the LORD’s word.”

Or Ochozia re di Giuda, veduto questo, fuggì per la strada della casa del giardino; e Jehu gli tenne dietro, e disse: Uccidete anche costui sul suo cocchio: e lo ferirono nella salita di Gaver, che è vicino a Jeblaam; e quegli fuggi sino a Mageddo, e ivi si morì.

Y viendo esto Ochôzías rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y siguiólo Jehú, diciendo: Herid también á éste en el carro. Y le hirieron á la subida de Gur, junto á Ibleam. Y él huyó á Megiddo, y murió allí.

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

E i suoi servi lo posero sul suo cocchio, e lo portarono a Gerusalemme, e lo seppellirono nel sepolcro de' padri suoi nella città di Davidde.

Y sus siervos le llevaron en un carro á Jerusalem, y allá le sepultaron con sus padres, en su sepulcro en la ciudad de David.

And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

L'anno undecimo di Joram figliuolo di Achab, regnò Ochozia sopra Giuda.

E Jehu andò a Jezrael. Ma Jezabele avendo saputo il suo arrivo, si diede il belletto agli occhi, e si acconciò il capo, e stava alla finestra per vedere

Vino después Jehú á Jezreel: y como Jezabel lo oyó, adornó sus ojos con alcohol, y atavió su cabeza, y asomóse á una ventana.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Jehu, che entrava nella porta, e disse: Può egli aver pace Zambri, che ha ucciso il suo signore?

Y como entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Sucedió bien á Zimri, que mató á su señor?

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”

E Jehu alzò il capo verso la finestra, e disse: Chi è colei? E due, o tre eunuchi s'inchinarono a lui.

Alzando él entonces su rostro hacia la ventana, dijo: ¿Quién es conmigo? ¿quién? Y miraron hacia él dos ó tres eunucos.

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

Ed egli disse loro: Gettatela a basso. Ed ei la gettarono; e la muraglia fu spruzzata di sangue, e gli zoccoli de' cavalli la calpestarono.

Y él les dijo: Echadla abajo. Y ellos la echaron: y parte de su sangre fué salpicada en la pared, y en los caballos; y él la atropelló.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.

E quand'egli fu andato in casa per mangiare, e bere, disse; Andate, e abbiate cura di quella sciaurata, e seppellitela; perocché è figliuola di re.

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter.

When he had come in, he ate and drank. Then he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”

Ed essendo andati quelli per seppellirla, non trovarono se non il cranio, e i piedi, e l'estremità delle mani,

Empero cuando fueron para sepultarla, no hallaron de ella más que la calavera, y los pies, y las palmas de las manos.

And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

E tornarono a riferir ciò a Jehu, ed egli disse: Questo è quello, che il Signore disse per bocca di Elia Thesbite suo servo, allorché pronunziò: I cani mangeran le carni di Jezabele nel campo di Jezrael:

Y volvieron, y dijéronselo. Y él dijo: La palabra de Dios es ésta, la cual él habló por mano de su siervo Elías Thisbita, diciendo: En la heredad de Jezreel comerán los perros las carnes de Jezabel.

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the LORD’s word, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,

E le carni di Jezabele resteranno come sterco sopra la superficie della terra nel campo di Jezrael, talmente che i passeggieri diranno: E ella costei quella Jezabele? Jehu ordina, che siano uccisi settanta figliuoli di Achab, e quarantadue fratelli di Ochozia, e stermina tutta la famiglia di Achab, e fa morire tutti i sacerdoti di Baal radunati con astuzia, ne abbrucia la statua, e il tempio riduce in una cloaca; contuttociò Jehu persevera nel culto de’ vitelli d'oro; onde Israele è straziato malamente da Huzael. A Jehu succede Joachaz sua figliuolo.

Y el cuerpo de Jezabel fué cual estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra en la heredad de Jezreel; de manera que nadie pueda decir: Esta es Jezabel.

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

and the body of Jezebel will be as dung on the surface of the field on Jezreel’s land, so that they won’t say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
