1Und Elischa sprach: Höret das Wort Jehovahs! Also spricht Jehovah: Um diese Zeit morgen das Seah Semmelmehl um einen Schekel und zwei Seah Gerste um einen Schekel im Tore von Samaria!
2Und es antwortete der Wagenkämpfer, auf dessen Hand der König sich stützte, dem Manne Gottes und sprach: Siehe, wenn Jehovah Fenster am Himmel machte, könnte so etwas sein? Er aber sprach: Siehe, du wirst es mit deinen Augen sehen, aber davon essen sollst du nicht.
3Und es waren vier aussätzige Männer am Eingang des Tores, und sie sagten zueinander: Was sitzen wir hier, bis wir sterben?
4Sprächen wir, laßt uns in die Stadt kommen, da ist Hungersnot in der Stadt, und wir stürben dort, und sitzen wir hier, so sterben wir; und nun, lasset uns gehen und zu Arams Lager fallen. Wenn sie uns leben lassen, so leben wir, und töten sie uns, so sterben wir.
5Und sie machten sich in der Dämmerung auf, daß sie zum Lager Arams kämen, und sie kamen bis an das Ende von Arams Lager, und siehe, da war kein Mann.
6Und der Herr hatte das Lager Arams das Getöse von Streitwagen und das Getöse von Rossen, und das Getöse einer großen Streitmacht hören lassen, und sie sprachen einer zum anderen: Siehe, der König von Israel hat wider uns gedungen die Könige der Chethiter und die Könige der Ägypter, daß sie wider uns kommen.
7Und sie machten sich auf und flohen in der Dämmerung und verließen ihre Zelte und ihre Rosse und ihre Esel im Lager, so wie es war; und sie flohen für ihre Seele.
8Und diese Aussätzigen kamen bis an das Ende des Lagers und kamen zu dem einen Zelt, und aßen und tranken und hoben auf von da Silber und Gold und Kleider und gingen und legten es hehlings weg, und sie kehrten zurück und kamen in ein anderes Zelt und hoben auf von da und gingen und legten es hehlings weg.
9Und sie sprachen, der Mann zu seinem Genossen: Wir tun nicht recht; dieser Tag ist ein Tag der Freudenkunde, wenn wir schweigen und verziehen bis zum Licht des Morgens, so findet uns unsere Missetat; und nun gehet, lasset uns kommen und es ansagen dem Hause des Königs.
10Und sie kamen und riefen dem Torwächter der Stadt und sagten ihnen an und sprachen: Wir sind in das Lager Arams gekommen, und siehe, da war kein Mann, noch eines Menschen Stimme, sondern Rosse waren angebunden und Esel waren angebunden und Zelte, wie sie waren.
11Und die Torwächter riefen und sagten es an in das Innere des Hauses des Königs.
12Und der König stand auf bei Nacht und sprach zu seinen Knechten: Lasset mich euch doch ansagen, was Aram uns getan. Sie wissen, daß wir hungrig sind und gingen aus von dem Lager, sich auf dem Felde zu verstecken, und sagten: So sie aus der Stadt herauskommen, wollen wir sie lebendig fassen und in die Stadt kommen.
13Und es antwortete einer von seinen Knechten und sprach: So laß sie doch fünf von den übriggebliebenen Rossen, die darin übriggeblieben sind siehe, sie sind wie all die Menge Israels, die darin übriggeblieben; siehe, sie sind wie alle Menge Israels, die zu Ende ist, und laßt sie uns aussenden und sehen.
14Und sie nahmen zwei Streitwagen mit Rossen, und der König sandte sie nach dem Lager Arams und sprach: Gehet und sehet.
15Und sie gingen hinter ihnen her bis an den Jordan, und siehe, der ganze Weg war voll von Kleidern und Geräten, die Aram in seiner Hast von sich geworfen. Und die Boten kehrten zurück und sagten es dem König an.
16Und das Volk ging hinaus und sie beraubten das Lager Arams, und das Seah Semmelmehl war zu haben um einen Schekel und zwei Seah Gerste um einen Schekel, nach dem Worte Jehovahs.
17Und der König bestellte den Wagenkämpfer, auf dessen Hand er sich stützte, an das Tor, das Volk aber zerstampfte ihn am Tor, daß er starb, wie der Mann Gottes geredet hatte, da er redete, als der König zu ihm hinabkam.
18Und es geschah, wie der Mann Gottes zum König geredet und gesagt hatte: Zwei Seah Gerste um einen Schekel und ein Seah Semmelmehl um einen Schekel wird es um diese Zeit morgen am Tore Samarias sein.
19Und der Wagenkämpfer hatte dem Manne Gottes geantwortet und gesagt: Und siehe, wenn Jehovah Fenster am Himmel machte, würde so etwas sein? Und er hatte gesagt: Siehe, du wirst es mit deinen Augen sehen, aber davon essen sollst du nicht.
20Und so geschah es ihm, und das Volk zerstampfte ihn am Tore, daß er starb.

1DIJO entonces Eliseo: Oid palabra de Jehová: Así dijo Jehová: Mañana á estas horas valdrá el seah de flor de harina un siclo, y dos seah de cebada un siclo, á la puerta de Samaria.
2Y un príncipe sobre cuya mano el rey se apoyaba, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: Si Jehová hiciese ahora ventanas en el cielo, ¿sería esto así? Y él dijo: He aquí tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.
3Y había cuatro hombres leprosos á la entrada de la puerta, los cuales dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Para qué nos estamos aquí hasta que muramos?
4Si tratáremos de entrar en la ciudad, por el hambre que hay en la ciudad moriremos en ella; y si nos quedamos aquí, también moriremos. Vamos pues ahora, y pasémonos al ejército de los Siros: si ellos nos dieren la vida, viviremos; y si nos dieren la muerte, moriremos.
5Levantáronse pues en el principio de la noche, para irse al campo de los Siros; y llegando á las primeras estancias de los Siros, no había allí hombre.
6Porque el Señor había hecho que en el campo de los Siros se oyese estruendo de carros, ruido de caballos, y estrépito de grande ejército; y dijéronse los unos á los otros: He aquí el rey de Israel ha pagado contra nosotros á los reyes de los Hetheos, y á los reyes de los Egipcios, para que vengan contra nosotros.
7Y así se habían levantado y huído al principio de la noche, dejando sus tiendas, sus caballos, sus asnos, y el campo como se estaba; y habían huído por salvar las vidas.
8Y como los leprosos llegaron á las primeras estancias, entráronse en una tienda, y comieron y bebieron, y tomaron de allí plata, y oro, y vestidos, y fueron, y escondiéronlo: y vueltos, entraron en otra tienda, y de allí también tomaron, y fueron, y escondieron.
9Y dijéronse el uno al otro: No hacemos bien: hoy es día de buena nueva, y nosotros callamos: y si esperamos hasta la luz de la mañana, nos alcanzará la maldad. Vamos pues ahora, entremos, y demos la nueva en casa del rey.
10Y vinieron, y dieron voces á los guardas de la puerta de la ciudad, y declaráronles, diciendo: Nosotros fuimos al campo de los Siros, y he aquí que no había allí hombre, ni voz de hombre, sino caballos atados, asnos también atados, y el campo como se estaba.
11Y los porteros dieron voces, y declaráronlo dentro, en el palacio del rey.
12Y levantóse el rey de noche, y dijo á sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los Siros. Ellos saben que tenemos hambre, y hanse salido de las tiendas y escondídose en el campo, diciendo: Cuando hubieren salido de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos, y entraremos en la ciudad.
13Entonces respondió uno de sus siervos, y dijo: Tomen ahora cinco de los caballos que han quedado en la ciudad, (porque ellos también son como toda la multitud de Israel que ha quedado en ella; también ellos son como toda la multitud de Israel que ha perecido;) y enviemos, y veamos qué hay.
14Tomaron pues dos caballos de un carro, y envió el rey tras el campo de los Siros, diciendo: Id, y ved.
15Y ellos fueron, y siguiéronlos hasta el Jordán: y he aquí, todo el camino estaba lleno de vestidos y enseres que los Siros habían arrojado con la premura. Y volvieron los mensajeros, é hiciéronlo saber al rey.
16Entonces el pueblo salió, y saquearon el campo de los Siros. Y fué vendido un seah de flor de harina por un siclo, y dos seah de cebada por un siclo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová.
17Y el rey puso á la puerta á aquel príncipe sobre cuya mano él se apoyaba: y atropellóle el pueblo á la entrada, y murió, conforme á lo que había dicho el varón de Dios, lo que habló cuando el rey descendió á él.
18Aconteció pues de la manera que el varón de Dios había hablado al rey, diciendo: Dos seah de cebada por un siclo, y el seah de flor de harina será vendido por un siclo mañana á estas horas, á la puerta de Samaria.
19A lo cual aquel príncipe había respondido al varón de Dios, diciendo: Aunque Jehová hiciese ventanas en el cielo, ¿pudiera ser eso? Y él dijo: He aquí tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.
20Y vínole así; porque el pueblo le atropelló á la entrada, y murió.
King James Version
1Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
3And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
4If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
5And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
6For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
7Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
8And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
9Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
10So they came and called unto the porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.
11And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s house within.
12And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
13And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
14They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.
15And they went after them unto Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.
16And the people went out, and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.
17And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.
18And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
19And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
20And so it fell out unto him: for the people trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
World English Bible
1Elisha said, “Hear the LORD’s word. The LORD says, ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.’”
2Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, “Behold, if the LORD made windows in heaven, could this thing be?” He said, “Behold, you will see it with your eyes, but will not eat of it.”
3Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate. They said to one another, “Why do we sit here until we die?
4If we say, ‘We will enter into the city,’ then the famine is in the city, and we will die there. If we sit still here, we also die. Now therefore come, and let’s surrender to the army of the Syrians. If they save us alive, we will live; and if they kill us, we will only die.”
5They rose up in the twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians. When they had come to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, no man was there.
6For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear the sound of chariots and the sound of horses, even the noise of a great army; and they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us.”
7Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, their horses, and their donkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
8When these lepers came to the outermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and ate and drank, then carried away silver, gold, and clothing and went and hid it. Then they came back, and entered into another tent and carried things from there also, and went and hid them.
9Then they said to one another, “We aren’t doing right. Today is a day of good news, and we keep silent. If we wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let’s go and tell the king’s household.”
10So they came and called to the city gatekeepers; and they told them, “We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, not even a man’s voice, but the horses tied, and the donkeys tied, and the tents as they were.”
11Then the gatekeepers called out and told it to the king’s household within.
12The king arose in the night, and said to his servants, “I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry. Therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, ‘When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city.’”
13One of his servants answered, “Please let some people take five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city. Behold, they are like all the multitude of Israel who are left in it. Behold, they are like all the multitude of Israel who are consumed. Let’s send and see.”
14Therefore they took two chariots with horses; and the king sent them out to the Syrian army, saying, “Go and see.”
15They went after them to the Jordan; and behold, all the path was full of garments and equipment which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. The messengers returned and told the king.
16The people went out and plundered the camp of the Syrians. So a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the LORD’s word.
17The king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to be in charge of the gate; and the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.
18It happened as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, “Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria;”
19and that captain answered the man of God, and said, “Now, behold, if the LORD made windows in heaven, might such a thing be?” and he said, “Behold, you will see it with your eyes, but will not eat of it.”
20It happened like that to him, for the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died.
