32Während nun Elisa in seinem Hause saß und die Vornehmen bei ihm saßen, sandte er einen Mann vor sich her. Aber ehe noch der Bote des Königs zu ihm gelangte, sagte er zu den Vornehmen: Habt ihr gesehen, daß dieser Mördersohn hergesandt hat, um mir den Kopf abschlagen zu lassen? Seht zu, sobald der Bote kommt, verschließt die Thür und stemmt euch mit der Thüre gegen ihn! Hinter ihm drein sind ja schon die Tritte seines Herrn zu vernehmen.

32Estaba á la sazón Eliseo sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos: y el rey envió á él un hombre. Mas antes que el mensajero viniese á él, dijo él á los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto cómo este hijo del homicida me envía á quitar la cabeza? Mirad pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, é impedidle la entrada: ¿no viene tras él el ruido de los pies de su amo?

32But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?

32But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn’t the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”
