Naaman, général d'armée du roi de Syrie, était un homme en grand crédit auprès de son maître et un personnage considérable, car c'est par lui que l'Éternel avait donné la victoire aux Syriens, et c'était un héros vaillant, mais il avait la lèpre.
NAAMÁN, general del ejército del rey de Siria, era gran varón delante de su señor, y en alta estima, porque por medio de él había dado Jehová salvamento á la Siria. Era este hombre valeroso en extremo, pero leproso.

Alors il (Naaman) alla informer son maître en disant : De telle et telle manière a parlé la jeune fille du pays d'Israël.
Y entrando Naamán á su señor, declaróselo, diciendo: Así y así ha dicho una muchacha que es de la tierra de Israel.
And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

Et le roi de Syrie dit : Pars, vas-y et j'enverrai une lettre au roi d'Israël. Et il partit prenant avec lui dix talents d'argent et six mille sicles d'or et dix habits de gala.
Y díjole el rey de Siria: Anda, ve, y yo enviaré letras al rey de Israel. Partió pues él, llevando consigo diez talentos de plata, y seis mil piezas de oro, y diez mudas de vestidos.
And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

Et il porta au roi d'Israël la lettre conçue en ces termes… « avec cette lettre qui te parvient, voici, je t'adresse Naaman, mon serviteur, afin que tu le débarrasses de sa lèpre. »
Tomó también letras para el rey de Israel, que decían así: Luego en llegando á ti estas letras, sabe por ellas que yo envío á ti mi siervo Naamán, para que lo sanes de su lepra.
And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

Et à la lecture de la lettre, le roi d'Israël déchira ses habits et dit : Suis-je un dieu pour donner la mort ou la vie, qu'il s'adresse à moi pour que je débarrasse un homme de sa lèpre ? Sans doute que, comprenez donc et voyez, il veut se donner prise sur moi.

And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

Alors Naaman fut irrité et s'en alla en disant : Voilà que je m'étais dit : il ne manquera pas de sortir vers moi et de paraître et d'invoquer le Nom de l'Éternel, son Dieu, et de mouvoir sa main sur la place et enlever ainsi la lèpre.
Y Naamán se fué enojado, diciendo: He aquí yo decía para mí: Saldrá él luego, y estando en pie invocará el nombre de Jehová su Dios, y alzará su mano, y tocará el lugar, y sanará la lepra.

Alors ses serviteurs l'abordèrent et lui parlèrent en ces termes : Mon père, le prophète t'a-t-il donc indiqué quelque chose de si difficile ? Ne veux-tu pas le faire ? d'autant plus qu'il t'a dit : Baigne-toi et te voilà pur !
Mas sus criados se llegaron á él, y habláronle, diciendo: Padre mío, si el profeta te mandara alguna gran cosa, ¿no la hicieras? ¿cuánto más, diciéndote: Lávate, y serás limpio?

Et Naaman dit : Au défaut de cela, qu'au moins il soit accordé à ton serviteur la charge de deux mulets de terre ! Car désormais ton serviteur n'offrira plus ni holocauste, ni victime à d'autres dieux, mais uniquement à l'Éternel.
Entonces Naamán dijo: Ruégote pues, ¿no se dará á tu siervo una carga de un par de acémilas de aquesta tierra? porque de aquí adelante tu siervo no sacrificará holocausto ni sacrificio á otros dioses, sino á Jehová.
And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
Naaman said, “If not, then, please let two mules’ load of earth be given to your servant; for your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD.
Mais que sur un point ton serviteur obtienne indulgence de l'Éternel, lorsque mon Maître ira au temple de Rimmon pour s'y prosterner, et qu'il s'appuiera sur ma main et que je me prosternerai dans le temple de Rimmon ! lors donc que je me prosternerai dans le temple de Rimmon, veuille l'Éternel pardonner à ton serviteur sur ce point !
En esto perdone Jehová á tu siervo: que cuando mi señor entrare en el templo de Rimmón, y para adorar en él se apoyare sobre mi mano, si yo también me inclinare en el templo de Rimmón, si en el templo de Rimmón me inclino, Jehová perdone en esto á tu siervo.
In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

Et Elisée lui répondit : Va-t'en avec la paix. Et l'ayant quitté il fit quelque peu de chemin.

Alors Gehazi, valet d'Elisée, homme de Dieu, dit : Voilà que mon maître a ménagé Naaman, ce Syrien-là, en n'acceptant pas de sa main ce qu'il lui offrait ! par la vie de l'Éternel, je vais courir après lui, et tirer de lui quelque chose.
Entonces Giezi, criado de Eliseo el varón de Dios, dijo entre sí: He aquí mi señor estorbó á este Siro Naamán, no tomando de su mano las cosas que había traído. Vive Jehová, que correré yo tras él, y tomaré de él alguna cosa.
But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.
But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As the LORD lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”
Et Gehazi se mit à courir après Naaman. Et Naaman voyant quelqu'un accourir après lui sauta en bas de son char et venant à sa rencontre il dit : Va-t-il bien ?
Y siguió Giezi á Naamán: y como le vió Naamán que venía corriendo tras él, apeóse del carro para recibirle, y dijo: ¿Va bien?

And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.

Et Naaman dit : Tu voudras bien accepter deux talents. Et il insista auprès de lui et serra les deux talents d'argent dans deux bourses et deux habillements et les remit a deux de ses valets qui les portèrent en le précédant.
Y Naamán dijo: Ruégote que tomes dos talentos. Y él le constriñó, y ató dos talentos de plata en dos sacos, y dos mudas de vestidos, y púsolo á cuestas á dos de sus criados, que lo llevasen delante de él.

Et arrivé à la colline il les reçut de leurs mains, et les cacha dans la maison, puis il congédia les gens qui partirent.
Y llegado que hubo á un lugar secreto, él lo tomó de mano de ellos, y guardólo en casa: luego mandó á los hombres que se fuesen.

El entonces le dijo: ¿No fué también mi corazón, cuando el hombre volvió de su carro á recibirte? ¿es tiempo de tomar plata, y de tomar vestidos, olivares, viñas, ovejas, bueyes, siervos y siervas?
And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

Que donc la lèpre de Naaman s'attache à toi et à ta race pour toujours ! Et il sortit de sa présence couvert d'une lèpre comme la neige.
La lepra de Naamán se te pegará á ti, y á tu simiente para siempre. Y salió de delante de él leproso, blanco como la nieve.
The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
