1Als Zedekia aber vom König von Babylon abgefallen war, da – es war im neunten Jahre seiner Regierung, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats – kam Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, in eigener Person mit seiner ganzen Heeresmacht gegen Jerusalem herangezogen und belagerte es. Man führte rings um die Stadt Belagerungswerke auf,
2und die Stadt blieb dann eingeschlossen bis ins elfte Jahr der Regierung Zedekias.
3Am neunten Tage des (vierten) Monats, als die Hungersnot in der Stadt übermächtig geworden war und die Landbevölkerung kein Brot mehr hatte,
4da wurde die Stadtmauer durchbrochen, und alle Kriegsleute ergriffen nachts die Flucht auf dem Wege durch das Tor zwischen den beiden Mauern, das am Königsgarten liegt, während die Chaldäer noch rings um die Stadt her lagen; und man wandte sich dann der Jordanebene zu.
5Aber das Heer der Chaldäer setzte dem Könige nach und holte ihn in den Steppen von Jericho ein, nachdem sein ganzes Heer sich zerstreut und ihn verlassen hatte.
6So wurde denn der König gefangengenommen und zum König von Babylon nach Ribla hinaufgeführt, wo man Gericht über ihn hielt.
7Die Söhne Zedekias ließ er vor dessen Augen grausam hinrichten; Zedekia aber ließ er blenden und in Ketten legen; dann brachte man ihn nach Babylon.
8Am siebten Tage des fünften Monats aber – das war das neunzehnte Regierungsjahr des Königs Nebukadnezar, des Königs von Babylon – kam Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, der dem Könige von Babylon besonders nahe stand, nach Jerusalem
9und verbrannte den Tempel des HERRN sowie den königlichen Palast und alle Häuser in Jerusalem: alle größeren Häuser ließ er in Flammen aufgehen.
10Sodann mußte das ganze chaldäische Heer, welches der Befehlshaber der Leibwache bei sich hatte, die Mauern rings um Jerusalem niederreißen.
11Den Rest des Volkes aber, was an Einwohnern in der Stadt noch übriggeblieben war, und die Überläufer, die zum König von Babylon übergegangen waren, sowie den Rest der Werkleute ließ Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, in die Gefangenschaft nach Babylon führen;
12von der niederen Bevölkerung des Landes aber ließ der Befehlshaber der Leibwache einen Teil als Weingärtner und Ackerleute zurück.
13Aber die ehernen Säulen, die am Tempel des HERRN standen, sowie die Gestühle und das große eherne Wasserbecken, die beim Tempel des HERRN waren, zerschlugen die Chaldäer und nahmen das Erz davon mit sich nach Babylon.
14Auch die Kessel, Schaufeln, Messer zum Lichtputzen, die Schalen und alle übrigen ehernen Geräte, die man beim Gottesdienst gebraucht hatte, nahmen sie weg;
15ebenso die Kohlenpfannen und Sprengschalen, alles, was ganz aus Gold oder ganz aus Silber bestand, nahm der Befehlshaber der Leibwache weg.
16Was die beiden Säulen sowie das eine große Wasserbecken und die Gestühle betrifft, die Salomo für den Tempel des HERRN hatte anfertigen lassen, so war es unmöglich, das Erz aller dieser Kunstwerke zu wägen.
17Achtzehn Ellen war die eine Säule hoch, und ein Knauf von Erz befand sich oben darauf; die Höhe des Knaufes betrug drei Ellen, und ein Flechtwerk und Granatäpfel waren ringsum an dem Knauf angebracht, alles von Erz; ebenso war auch die andere Säule beschaffen nebst dem Flechtwerk.
18Weiter ließ der Befehlshaber der Leibwache den Oberpriester Seraja, den Unterpriester Zephanja und die drei Schwellenhüter verhaften;
19ferner nahm er aus der Stadt den einen Kämmerer fest, der den Oberbefehl über das Kriegsvolk gehabt hatte, sowie fünf Männer von denen, die zu der ständigen Umgebung des Königs gehört hatten und die in der Stadt vorgefunden wurden, außerdem den Schreiber des Feldhauptmanns, der das Landvolk zum Heeresdienst ausgehoben hatte, außerdem sechzig Personen von der Landbevölkerung, die noch in der Stadt angetroffen worden waren.
20Diese nahm Nebusaradan, der Befehlshaber der Leibwache, und brachte sie zum König von Babylon nach Ribla;
21der König von Babylon aber ließ sie zu Ribla in der Landschaft Hamath grausam hinrichten. So wurde Juda von seinem heimischen Boden gefangen weggeführt.
22Über das Volk aber, das im Lande Juda zurückgeblieben war, weil Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, es übriggelassen hatte, über diese setzte er Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, als Statthalter ein.
23Als nun alle Truppenführer samt ihren Leuten erfuhren, daß der König von Babylon Gedalja zum Statthalter bestellt habe, da begaben sie sich zu Gedalja nach Mizpa, nämlich Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, Seraja, der Sohn Thanhumeths aus Netopha, und Jaasanja, der Sohn eines Maachathiters, samt ihren Leuten.
24Da richtete Gedalja an sie und ihre Leute unter feierlicher Anrufung Gottes folgende Ansprache: »Fürchtet euch nicht vor den Beamten der Chaldäer! Bleibt im Lande und seid dem König von Babylon untertan: ihr werdet euch gut dabei stehen!«
25Aber im siebenten Monat kam Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohnes Elisamas, ein Mann von königlicher Abkunft, und mit ihm zehn Männer; die erschlugen Gedalja samt den Judäern und Chaldäern, die bei ihm in Mizpa waren.
26Da machte sich das ganze Volk, klein und groß, mitsamt den Truppenführern auf und zog nach Ägypten; denn sie fürchteten sich vor den Chaldäern.
27Aber im siebenunddreißigsten Jahr der Wegführung Jojachins, des Königs von Juda, am siebenundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats, begnadigte Ewil-Merodach, der König von Babylon, – im Jahre seines Regierungsantritts – den König Jojachin von Juda und entließ ihn aus dem Gefängnis.
28Er redete freundlich mit ihm und wies ihm seinen Sitz an über den Sitz der anderen Könige, die bei ihm in Babylon waren.
29Da durfte er auch seine Gefangenenkleidung ablegen und speiste regelmäßig an der königlichen Tafel, solange er noch lebte.
30Sein Unterhalt aber wurde ihm als ständiger Unterhalt, soviel er täglich bedurfte, von seiten des Königs bis zu seinem Todestage zugewiesen, solange er noch lebte.

1Y ACONTECIÓ á los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, á los diez del mes, que Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia vino con todo su ejército contra Jerusalem, y cercóla; y levantaron contra ella ingenios alrededor.
2Y estuvo la ciudad cercada hasta el undécimo año del rey Sedecías.
3A los nueve del mes prevaleció el hambre en la ciudad, que no hubo pan para el pueblo de la tierra.
4Abierta ya la ciudad, huyeron de noche todos los hombres de guerra por el camino de la puerta que estaba entre los dos muros, junto á los huertos del rey, estando los Caldeos alrededor de la ciudad; y el rey se fué camino de la campiña.
5Y el ejército de los Caldeos siguió al rey, y tomólo en las llanuras de Jericó, habiéndose esparcido de él todo su ejército.
6Tomado pues el rey, trajéronle al rey de Babilonia á Ribla, y profirieron contra él sentencia.
7Y degollaron á los hijos de Sedecías en presencia suya; y á Sedecías sacaron los ojos, y atado con cadenas lleváronlo á Babilonia.
8En el mes quinto, á los siete del mes, siendo el año diecinueve de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, vino á Jerusalem Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia, siervo del rey de Babilonia.
9Y quemó la casa de Jehová, y la casa del rey, y todas las casas de Jerusalem; y todas las casas de los príncipes quemó á fuego.
10Y todo el ejército de los Caldeos que estaba con el capitán de la guardia, derribó los muros de Jerusalem alrededor.
11Y á los del pueblo que habían quedado en la ciudad, y á los que se habían juntado al rey de Babilonia, y á los que habían quedado del vulgo, trasportólos Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia.
12Mas de los pobres de la tierra dejó Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia, para que labrasen las viñas y las tierras.
13Y quebraron los Caldeos las columnas de bronce que estaban en la casa de Jehová, y las basas, y el mar de bronce que estaba en la casa de Jehová, y llevaron el metal de ello á Babilonia.
14Lleváronse también los calderos, y las paletas, y las tenazas, y los cucharones, y todos los vasos de metal con que ministraban.
15Incensarios, cuencos, los que de oro, en oro, y los que de plata, en plata, todo lo llevó el capitán de los de la guardia;
16Las dos columnas, un mar, y las basas que Salomón había hecho para la casa de Jehová: no había peso de todos estos vasos.
17La altura de la una columna era diez y ocho codos y tenía encima un capitel de bronce, y la altura del capitel era de tres codos; y sobre el capitel había un enredado y granadas alrededor, todo de bronce: y semejante obra había en la otra columna con el enredado.
18Tomó entonces el capitán de los de la guardia á Saraías primer sacerdote, y á Sophonías segundo sacerdote, y tres guardas de la vajilla;
19Y de la ciudad tomó un eunuco, el cual era maestre de campo, y cinco varones de los continuos del rey, que se hallaron en la ciudad; y al principal escriba del ejército, que hacía la reseña de la gente del país; y sesenta varones del pueblo de la tierra, que se hallaron en la ciudad.
20Estos tomó Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia, y llevólos á Ribla al rey de Babilonia.
21Y el rey de Babilonia los hirió y mató en Ribla, en tierra de Hamath. Así fué trasportado Judá de sobre su tierra.
22Y al pueblo que Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia dejó en tierra de Judá, puso por gobernador á Gedalías, hijo de Ahicam hijo de Saphán.
23Y oyendo todos los príncipes del ejército, ellos y su gente, que el rey de Babilonia había puesto por gobernador á Gedalías, viniéronse á él en Mizpa, es á saber, Ismael hijo de Nathanías, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y Saraía hijo de Tanhumet Netofatita, y Jaazanías hijo de Maachâti, ellos con los suyos.
24Entonces Gedalías les hizo juramento, á ellos y á los suyos, y díjoles: No temáis de ser siervos de los Caldeos; habitad en la tierra, y servid al rey de Babilonia, y os irá bien.
25Mas en el mes séptimo vino Ismael hijo de Nathanías, hijo de Elisama, de la estirpe real, y con él diez varones, é hirieron á Gedalías, y murió: y también á los Judíos y Caldeos que estaban con él en Mizpa.
26Y levantándose todo el pueblo, desde el menor hasta el mayor, con los capitanes del ejército, fuéronse á Egipto por temor de los Caldeos.
27Y aconteció á los treinta y siete años de la trasportación de Joachîn rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, á los veinte y siete del mes, que Evil-merodach rey de Babilonia, en el primer año de su reinado, levantó la cabeza de Joachîn rey de Judá, sacándolo de la casa de la cárcel;
28Y hablóle bien, y puso su asiento sobre el asiento de los reyes que con él estaban en Babilonia.
29Y mudóle los vestidos de su prisión, y comió siempre delante de él todos los días de su vida.
30Y fuéle diariamente dada su comida de parte del rey de continuo, todos los días de su vida.

1And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
2And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
3And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
4And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king’s garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.
5And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
6So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.
7And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
8And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
9And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man’s house burnt he with fire.
10And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.
11Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.
12But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
13And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.
14And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
15And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.
16The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
17The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.
18And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
19And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king’s presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
20And Nebuzar-adan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:
21And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
22And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
23And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
24And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
25But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
26And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.
27And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
28And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon;
29And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.
30And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.

1In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it.
2So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
3On the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
4Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.
5But the Chaldean army pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
6Then they captured the king and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they passed judgment on him.
7They killed Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah’s eyes, bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
8Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
9He burned the LORD’s house, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.
10All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.
11Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive the rest of the people who were left in the city and those who had deserted to the king of Babylon—all the rest of the multitude.
12But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
13The Chaldeans broke up the pillars of bronze that were in the LORD’s house and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the LORD’s house, and carried the bronze pieces to Babylon.
14They took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the spoons, and all the vessels of bronze with which they ministered.
15The captain of the guard took away the fire pans, the basins, that which was of gold, for gold, and that which was of silver, for silver.
16The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases, which Solomon had made for the LORD’s house, the bronze of all these vessels was not weighed.
17The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a capital of bronze was on it. The height of the capital was three cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital around it, all of bronze; and the second pillar with its network was like these.
18The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold;
19and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and five men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe, the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.
20Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
21The king of Babylon attacked them and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.
22As for the people who were left in the land of Judah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, governor.
23Now when all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, Johanan the son of Kareah, Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
24Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, and said to them, “Don’t be afraid because of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”
25But in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal offspring came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedaliah so that he died, with the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.
26All the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces arose and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.
27In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, released Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison,
28and he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,
29and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life;
30and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him from the king, every day a portion, all the days of his life.
