1Dans la neuvième année de son règne, le dixième mois, le roi Nabuchodonosor arriva de Babylone avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem ; il campa autour de ses remparts, et il les enveloppa d'une muraille qu'il bâtit.
2Et la ville fut investie jusqu'au neuvième mois de la onzième année du règne de Sédécias.
3La famine prévalait dans la cité, et il n'y avait pas de pains pour le peuple de la terre.
4Une brèche fut faite aux murailles, et à la nuit les hommes de guerre sortirent par le chemin de la porte qui est entre les remparts, la porte même du jardin du roi ; cependant, les Chaldéens entouraient le reste de la ville. Alors, le roi prit la route de la plaine.
5Et l'armée des Chaldéens les poursuivit ; Sédécias fut pris en Araboth-Jéricho, et toute sa troupe se dispersa tout alentour.
6Les Chaldéens firent donc le roi captif ; ils le menèrent au roi de Babylone à Reblatha, et Nabuchodonosor prononça contre lui son arrêt.
7Il égorgea tous ses fils sous ses yeux, qu'ensuite il arracha ; puis, après l'avoir chargé de chaînes et d'entraves, il l'emmena à Babylone.
8Le septième jour du cinquième mois de la dix-neuvième année du règne de Nabuchodonosor, Nabuzardan son général en chef, celui qui se tenait devant lui, marcha sur Jérusalem.
9Et il livra aux flammes le temple du Seigneur, le palais du roi et toutes les maisons de Jérusalem ;
10Le général en chef brûla tout.
11Et Nabuzardan enleva tout ce qui survivait du peuple demeuré dans la ville, et ceux qui étaient tombés dans les mains du roi de Babylone, et tout le reste de la multitude.
12Il ne laissa pour être vignerons et laboureurs que la plus infinie populace.
13Et les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d'airain, les bassins et la mer d'airain du temple ; et ils emportèrent le métal à Babylone.
14Ils prirent aussi les chaudières, les fourchettes, les coupes, les encensoirs et les vases d'airain employés dans le temple.
15Le général en chef prit les portes, les coupes d'or et d'argent,
16Les deux colonnes, la mer et les bassins que Salomon avait placés dans le temple ; on ne sut pas le poids de tous les ornements d'airain.
17Chaque colonne avait dix-huit coudées de haut ; elle était surmontée d'un chapiteau d'airain, haut de trois coudées, avec un filet entouré de grenades ; elles étaient toutes les deux pareilles.
18Le général en chef fit aussi captifs Saraïas le grand prêtre, Sophonie prêtre du second rang, et les trois gardiens des portes.
19On prit en outre : hors de la ville, un eunuque commandant les hommes de guerre ; dans la ville, cinq de ceux qui voyaient la face du roi, et le scribe du chef de l'armée qui rangeait les troupes en bataille, et soixante hommes de la campagne alors à Jérusalem.
20Nabuzardan conduisit les captifs au roi de Babylone, à Reblatha.
21Et Nabuchodonosor les frappa, et les fit mettre à mort à Reblatha dans la terre d'Emath ; puis, il emmena Juda loin de sa terre.
22Et à la tête du peuple qui resta sur le territoire de Juda, le roi mit Godolias, fils d'Achiman, fils de Saphan.
23Et tous les chefs de l'armée, eux et leurs hommes, apprirent que le roi avait choisi Godolias ; alors, Ismaël, fils de Nathanie ; Jonas, fils de Careth ; Saraïas, fils de Thanamath le Nephthalite, et Jézonias, fils de Machathi, l'allèrent trouver avec leurs hommes à Maspha,
24Et Godolias prêta serment à eux et à leurs hommes, disant : Ne craignez plus d'invasion des Chaldéens, demeurez en votre terre, servez le roi de Babylone, et tout ira bien pour vous.
25Et le septième mois, Ismaël, fils de Nathanie, de la race royale, et dix de ses hommes allèrent à Maspha ; là, ils attaquèrent Godolias, et ils le tuèrent ainsi que les Chaldéens qui s'y trouvaient avec lui.
26Et tout le peuple, du petit au grand, et les chefs de l'armée se levèrent, et ils s'en allèrent en Égypte, car ils craignaient les Chaldéens.
27En la trente-septième année de la captivité de Joachim, roi de Juda, le vingt-septième jour du douzième mois, Evilmerodach, roi de Babylone, dès la première année de son règne, releva la tête de Joachim, roi de Juda, et le fit sortir de prison.
28Et il lui parla avec douceur, et il lui donna un trône plus élevé que les trônes des autres rois qui l'entouraient à Babylone.
29Il lui ôta ses vêtements de prisonnier, et il le fit manger, en sa présence, tous les jours de sa vie.
30Et sa portion, portion perpétuelle, lui fut donnée de la maison du roi ; il en fut ainsi tous les jours de sa vie.

1Y ACONTECIÓ á los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, á los diez del mes, que Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia vino con todo su ejército contra Jerusalem, y cercóla; y levantaron contra ella ingenios alrededor.
2Y estuvo la ciudad cercada hasta el undécimo año del rey Sedecías.
3A los nueve del mes prevaleció el hambre en la ciudad, que no hubo pan para el pueblo de la tierra.
4Abierta ya la ciudad, huyeron de noche todos los hombres de guerra por el camino de la puerta que estaba entre los dos muros, junto á los huertos del rey, estando los Caldeos alrededor de la ciudad; y el rey se fué camino de la campiña.
5Y el ejército de los Caldeos siguió al rey, y tomólo en las llanuras de Jericó, habiéndose esparcido de él todo su ejército.
6Tomado pues el rey, trajéronle al rey de Babilonia á Ribla, y profirieron contra él sentencia.
7Y degollaron á los hijos de Sedecías en presencia suya; y á Sedecías sacaron los ojos, y atado con cadenas lleváronlo á Babilonia.
8En el mes quinto, á los siete del mes, siendo el año diecinueve de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, vino á Jerusalem Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia, siervo del rey de Babilonia.
9Y quemó la casa de Jehová, y la casa del rey, y todas las casas de Jerusalem; y todas las casas de los príncipes quemó á fuego.
10Y todo el ejército de los Caldeos que estaba con el capitán de la guardia, derribó los muros de Jerusalem alrededor.

13Y quebraron los Caldeos las columnas de bronce que estaban en la casa de Jehová, y las basas, y el mar de bronce que estaba en la casa de Jehová, y llevaron el metal de ello á Babilonia.
14Lleváronse también los calderos, y las paletas, y las tenazas, y los cucharones, y todos los vasos de metal con que ministraban.
15Incensarios, cuencos, los que de oro, en oro, y los que de plata, en plata, todo lo llevó el capitán de los de la guardia;
16Las dos columnas, un mar, y las basas que Salomón había hecho para la casa de Jehová: no había peso de todos estos vasos.

19Y de la ciudad tomó un eunuco, el cual era maestre de campo, y cinco varones de los continuos del rey, que se hallaron en la ciudad; y al principal escriba del ejército, que hacía la reseña de la gente del país; y sesenta varones del pueblo de la tierra, que se hallaron en la ciudad.
20Estos tomó Nabuzaradán, capitán de los de la guardia, y llevólos á Ribla al rey de Babilonia.
21Y el rey de Babilonia los hirió y mató en Ribla, en tierra de Hamath. Así fué trasportado Judá de sobre su tierra.
22Y al pueblo que Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia dejó en tierra de Judá, puso por gobernador á Gedalías, hijo de Ahicam hijo de Saphán.
23Y oyendo todos los príncipes del ejército, ellos y su gente, que el rey de Babilonia había puesto por gobernador á Gedalías, viniéronse á él en Mizpa, es á saber, Ismael hijo de Nathanías, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y Saraía hijo de Tanhumet Netofatita, y Jaazanías hijo de Maachâti, ellos con los suyos.
24Entonces Gedalías les hizo juramento, á ellos y á los suyos, y díjoles: No temáis de ser siervos de los Caldeos; habitad en la tierra, y servid al rey de Babilonia, y os irá bien.
25Mas en el mes séptimo vino Ismael hijo de Nathanías, hijo de Elisama, de la estirpe real, y con él diez varones, é hirieron á Gedalías, y murió: y también á los Judíos y Caldeos que estaban con él en Mizpa.
26Y levantándose todo el pueblo, desde el menor hasta el mayor, con los capitanes del ejército, fuéronse á Egipto por temor de los Caldeos.
27Y aconteció á los treinta y siete años de la trasportación de Joachîn rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, á los veinte y siete del mes, que Evil-merodach rey de Babilonia, en el primer año de su reinado, levantó la cabeza de Joachîn rey de Judá, sacándolo de la casa de la cárcel;

1And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
2And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
3And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
4And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king’s garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.
5And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
6So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.
7And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
8And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
9And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man’s house burnt he with fire.
10And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.
11Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.
12But the captain of the guard left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
13And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.
14And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
15And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.
16The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
17The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.
18And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
19And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king’s presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
20And Nebuzar-adan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:
21And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
22And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
23And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
24And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
25But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
26And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.
27And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
28And he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon;
29And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.
30And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.

1In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it.
2So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
3On the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
4Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.
5But the Chaldean army pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
6Then they captured the king and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they passed judgment on him.
7They killed Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah’s eyes, bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
8Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
9He burned the LORD’s house, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He burned every great house with fire.
10All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.
11Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive the rest of the people who were left in the city and those who had deserted to the king of Babylon—all the rest of the multitude.
12But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
13The Chaldeans broke up the pillars of bronze that were in the LORD’s house and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the LORD’s house, and carried the bronze pieces to Babylon.
14They took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the spoons, and all the vessels of bronze with which they ministered.
15The captain of the guard took away the fire pans, the basins, that which was of gold, for gold, and that which was of silver, for silver.
16The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases, which Solomon had made for the LORD’s house, the bronze of all these vessels was not weighed.
17The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a capital of bronze was on it. The height of the capital was three cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital around it, all of bronze; and the second pillar with its network was like these.

19and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and five men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe, the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.
20Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
21The king of Babylon attacked them and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.
22As for the people who were left in the land of Judah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, governor.
23Now when all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, Johanan the son of Kareah, Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
24Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, and said to them, “Don’t be afraid because of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.”
25But in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal offspring came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedaliah so that he died, with the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.
26All the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces arose and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.
27In the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, released Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison,
28and he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,
29and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life;
30and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him from the king, every day a portion, all the days of his life.
