1Foi no reinado de Jeoaquim que Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, atacou Jerusalém. Jeoaquim teve de entregar-se e pagar um imposto ao rei da Babilônia durante três anos, mas depois ele se rebelou contra Nabucodonosor.
2O Senhor enviou tropas de caldeus, de sírios, de moabitas e de amonitas contra Judá a fim de destruir a nação, conforme o Senhor havia avisado por intermédio dos seus servos, os profetas.
3Essas calamidades aconteceram a Judá, por ordem direta do Senhor. Ele tinha resolvido eliminar Judá da sua presença por causa dos muitos pecados de Manassés,
4pois este rei havia derramado muito sangue inocente nas ruas de Jerusalém, e o Senhor não perdoou esse pecado.
5Os demais acontecimentos da história do reinado de Jeoaquim estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá.
6Depois que ele morreu e foi enterrado com seus antepassados, o seu filho Joaquim reinou em seu lugar.
7O rei do Egito nunca mais saiu das suas fronteiras, pois o rei da Babilônia ocupou toda a região, desde o ribeiro do Egito até o rio Eufrates, que antes o Egito possuía.
8Joaquim tinha dezoito anos de idade quando se tornou rei de Judá. Ele governou por três meses em Jerusalém. O nome da mãe era Neústa, filha de Elnatã, de Jerusalém.
9Joaquim fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como tinha feito o seu pai.
10Foi durante o seu reinado que os exércitos de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, cercaram a cidade de Jerusalém.
11O próprio Nabucodonosor chegou durante o cerco da cidade,
12e o rei Joaquim, todos os seus oficiais e sua mãe se entregaram a Nabucodonosor. A rendição foi aceita, e Joaquim ficou preso na Babilônia. Isso aconteceu no oitavo ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia.
13Os babilônios levaram embora todos os tesouros do templo e do palácio real; e cortaram em pedaços todos os vasos de ouro que Salomão, rei de Israel, tinha colocado no templo, por ordem do Senhor.
14O rei Nabucodonosor levou de Jerusalém dez mil prisioneiros, inclusive todos os príncipes e os melhores soldados, os melhores trabalhadores em objetos de arte e ferreiros. Assim, só ficaram na terra as pessoas pobres e sem profissão.
15Nabucodonosor levou para a Babilônia o rei Joaquim, suas esposas, seus oficiais e sua mãe.
16Além disso, ele levou sete mil dos melhores soldados, todos eles homens fortes e preparados para a guerra, e mil trabalhadores em objetos de arte e ferreiros.
17Então o rei de Babilônia nomeou Matanias, tio do rei Joaquim, para ser o próximo rei, e mudou o nome dele para Zedequias.
18Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome da sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias, de Libna.
19Zedequias fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como o rei Jeoaquim havia feito.
20Assim o Senhor, em sua ira, finalmente lançou para longe da sua presença o povo de Jerusalém e de Judá. Então o rei Zedequias se rebelou contra o rei de Babilônia.

1EN su tiempo subió Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, al cual sirvió Joacim tres años; volvióse luego, y se rebeló contra él.
2Jehová empero envió contra él tropas de Caldeos, y tropas de Siros, y tropas de Moabitas, y tropas de Ammonitas; los cuales envió contra Judá para que la destruyesen, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por sus siervos los profetas.
3Ciertamente vino esto contra Judá por dicho de Jehová, para quitarla de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, conforme á todo lo que hizo;
4Asimismo por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues hinchió á Jerusalem de sangre inocente: Jehová por tanto, no quiso perdonar.
5Lo demás de los hechos de Joacim, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
6Y durmió Joacim con sus padres, y reinó en su lugar Joachîn su hijo.
7Y nunca más el rey de Egipto salió de su tierra: porque el rey de Babilonia le tomó todo lo que era suyo, desde el río de Egipto hasta el río de Eufrates.
8De dieciocho años era Joachîn cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem tres meses. El nombre de su madre fué Neusta hija de Elnathán, de Jerusalem.
9E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho su padre.
10En aquel tiempo subieron los siervos de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia contra Jerusalem, y la ciudad fué cercada.
11Vino también Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia contra la ciudad, cuando sus siervos la tenían cercada.
12Entonces salió Joachîn rey de Judá al rey de Babilonia, él, y su madre, y sus siervos, y sus príncipes, y sus eunucos: y prendiólo el rey de Babilonia en el octavo año de su reinado.
13Y sacó de allí todos los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, y quebró en piezas todos los vasos de oro que había hecho Salomón rey de Israel en la casa de Jehová, como Jehová había dicho.
14Y llevó en cautiverio á toda Jerusalem, á todos los príncipes, y á todos los hombres valientes, hasta diez mil cautivos, y á todos los oficiales y herreros; que no quedó nadie, excepto los pobres del pueblo de la tierra.
15Asimismo trasportó á Joachîn á Babilonia, y á la madre del rey, y á las mujeres del rey, y á sus eunucos, y á los poderosos de la tierra; cautivos los llevó de Jerusalem á Babilonia.
16A todos los hombre de guerra, que fueron siete mil, y á los oficiales y herreros, que fueron mil, y á todos los valientes para hacer la guerra, llevó cautivos el rey de Babilonia.
17Y el rey de Babilonia puso por rey en lugar de Joachîn á Mathanías su tío, y mudóle el nombre en el de Sedecías.
18De veintiún años era Sedecías cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem once años. El nombre de su madre fué Amutal hija de Jeremías, de Libna.
19E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todo lo que había hecho Joacim.
20Fué pues la ira de Jehová contra Jerusalem y Judá, hasta que los echó de su presencia. Y Sedecías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.

1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
2And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
3Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
4And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.
5Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
6So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
7And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
8Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother’s name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
9And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
10At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
11And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.
12And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
13And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.
14And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
15And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king’s mother, and the king’s wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
17And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father’s brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
18Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
19And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
20For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.
2The LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
3Surely at the commandment of the LORD this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
4and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD would not pardon.

14He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.
15He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
16All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
17The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
