8O rei Josias trouxe de volta a Jerusalém todos os sacerdotes que moravam em outras cidades de Judá, e derrubou todos os altares idólatras que havia nas montanhas onde eles haviam queimado incenso. Derrubou, inclusive, aqueles que estão em lugares tão afastados como Geba e Berseba. Além disso, ele destruiu altares idólatras colocados na entrada do palácio de Josué, o governador de Jerusalém. Esse palácio estava localizado à esquerda de quem entra pela porta da cidade.

8E hizo venir todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá, y profanó los altos donde los sacerdotes quemaban perfumes, desde Gabaa hasta Beer-seba; y derribó los altares de las puertas que estaban á la entrada de la puerta de Josué, gobernador de la ciudad, que estaban á la mano izquierda, á la puerta de la ciudad.

8And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s left hand at the gate of the city.
