1Manassés tinha doze anos quando começou a reinar. Ele reinou cinquenta e cinco anos em Jerusalém, e sua mãe se chamava Hefzibá.
2Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, fazendo as mesmas coisas que faziam as nações que o Senhor havia expulsado da terra para dar lugar ao povo de Israel.
3Ele reconstruiu os altares idólatras que seu pai Ezequias havia destruído. Construiu altares para o deus Baal e fez uma imagem vergonhosa para Aserá, assim como fizera Acabe, rei de Israel. Inclinou-se diante do deus Sol, da deusa Lua e dos deuses das estrelas e os serviu.
4Construiu altares no próprio templo do Senhor, do qual ele havia dito: “Escolhi Jerusalém para colocar o meu próprio nome”.
5Nos dois pátios do templo do Senhor ele construiu altares para o exército dos céus.
6Ele chegou a queimar um dos seus filhos como sacrifício! Praticou a magia e fez uso da adivinhação; frequentou os médiuns e os feiticeiros. Por isso o Senhor ficou muito irado, porque ele fazia o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor.
7Manassés chegou a ponto de colocar a imagem vergonhosa de Aserá dentro do templo, do qual o Senhor tinha falado a Davi e a seu filho Salomão: “Colocarei o meu nome para sempre neste templo e em Jerusalém, a cidade que escolhi dentre todas as cidades das tribos de Israel.
8Não farei que os pés dos israelitas caminhem errantes novamente. Se o povo de Israel obedecer às instruções que eu lhes dei por intermédio de Moisés, nunca mais os expulsarei da terra dos seus pais”.
9Porém o povo não deu atenção à palavra do Senhor, e Manassés os levou a fazer coisas ainda piores do que as nações vizinhas haviam feito, nações que o Senhor havia destruído diante do povo de Israel quando entrou na terra.
10Então o Senhor falou por intermédio dos profetas, seus servos:
11“Manassés, rei de Judá, fez essas coisas más, agindo mais perversamente do que os amorreus que estiveram nesta terra antes dele, e levou o povo de Judá a praticar a adoração de imagens.
12Portanto, assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: ‘Trarei desgraças tão grandes sobre Jerusalém e Judá que os ouvidos daqueles que ouvirem a respeito dessas desgraças vão tinir de horror.
13Estenderei sobre Jerusalém o fio de medir usado contra Samaria e o prumo usado contra a casa de Acabe. Limparei Jerusalém como se limpa um prato e depois se vira de boca para baixo.
14E rejeitarei mesmo aqueles poucos que restarem do meu povo e os entregarei nas mãos de seus inimigos. Serão despojados e saqueados pelos seus inimigos,
15pois eles fizeram perante mim o que era mau e provocaram a minha ira, desde o dia em que tirei os seus antepassados do Egito’ ”.
16Além da adoração de imagens, que é uma prática que Deus não tolera e que Manassés levou o povo a cometer, Manassés assassinou um grande número de pessoas inocentes. E Jerusalém, de uma ponta até a outra, estava cheia dos corpos das suas vítimas.
17Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Manassés e todas as suas realizações, inclusive seus atos pecaminosos, estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá.
18Ao morrer, ele foi sepultado no jardim do seu palácio em Uzá, e seu filho Amom se tornou o novo rei.
19Amom tinha vinte e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar. Ele reinou dois anos em Jerusalém, e sua mãe se chamava Mesulemete, filha de Haruz, de Jotbá.
20Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como o seu pai Manassés.
21Ele fez todas as coisas más que seu pai tinha feito: adorou os mesmos ídolos que seu pai havia adorado e inclinou-se diante deles.
22Ele virou as costas para o Senhor, o Deus de seus antepassados. Ele não quis saber de andar nos caminhos do Senhor.
23Mas os oficiais de Amom tramaram contra a vida dele e o mataram no palácio.
24Então o povo de Judá matou todos os que haviam conspirado contra o rei Amom, e colocou no trono Josias, filho de Amom.
25Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Amom e suas realizações estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá.
26Ele foi enterrado numa sepultura no jardim de Uzá, e em seu lugar reinou seu filho Josias.

1DE doce años era Manasés cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó en Jerusalem cincuenta y cinco años: el nombre de su madre fué Hepsiba.
2E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, según las abominaciones de las gentes que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
3Porque él volvió á edificar los altos que Ezechîas su padre había derribado, y levantó altares á Baal, é hizo bosque, como había hecho Achâb rey de Israel: y adoró á todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvió á aquellas cosas.
4Asimismo edificó altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual Jehová había dicho: Yo pondré mi nombre en Jerusalem.
5Y edificó altares para todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la casa de Jehová.
6Y pasó á su hijo por fuego, y miró en tiempos, y fué agorero, é instituyó pythones y adivinos, multiplicando así el hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, para provocarlo á ira.
7Y puso una entalladura del bosque que él había hecho, en la casa de la cual había Jehová dicho á David y á Salomón su hijo: Yo pondré mi nombre para siempre en esta casa, y en Jerusalem, á la cual escogí de todas las tribus de Israel:
8Y no volveré á hacer que el pie de Israel sea movido de la tierra que dí á sus padres, con tal que guarden y hagan conforme á todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, y conforme á toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les mandó.
9Mas ellos no escucharon; y Manasés los indujo á que hiciesen más mal que las gentes que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.
10Y habló Jehová por mano de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:
11Por cuanto Manasés rey de Judá ha hecho estas abominaciones, y ha hecho más mal que todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos que fueron antes de él, y también ha hecho pecar á Judá en sus ídolos;
12Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: He aquí yo traigo tal mal sobre Jerusalem y sobre Judá, que el que lo oyere, le retiñirán ambos oídos.
13Y extenderé sobre Jerusalem el cordel de Samaria, y el plomo de la casa de Achâb: y yo limpiaré á Jerusalem como se limpia una escudilla, que después que la han limpiado, la vuelven sobre su haz.
14Y desampararé las reliquias de mi heredad, y entregarlas he en manos de sus enemigos; y serán para saco y para robo á todos sus adversarios;
15Por cuanto han hecho lo malo en mis ojos, y me han provocado á ira, desde el día que sus padres salieron de Egipto hasta hoy.
16Fuera de esto, derramó Manasés mucha sangre inocente en gran manera, hasta henchir á Jerusalem de cabo á cabo: además de su pecado con que hizo pecar á Judá, para que hiciese lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
17Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su pecado que cometió, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
18Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fué sepultado en el huerto de su casa, en el huerto de Uzza; y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.
19De veinte y dos años era Amón cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Mesalemeth hija de Harus de Jotba.
20E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre.
21Y anduvo en todos los caminos en que su padre anduvo, y sirvió á las inmundicias á las cuales había servido su padre, y á ellas adoró;
22Y dejó á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino de Jehová.
23Y los siervos de Amón conspiraron contra él, y mataron al rey en su casa.
24Entonces el pueblo de la tierra hirió á todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y puso el pueblo de la tierra por rey en su lugar á Josías su hijo.
25Lo demás de los hechos de Amón, que efectuara, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
26Y fué sepultado en su sepulcro en el huerto de Uzza, y reinó en su lugar Josías su hijo.

1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hephzi-bah.
2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
3For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
6And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
7And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
9But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
10And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.
14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
15Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
16Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
17Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
19Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.
21And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:
22And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.
23And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.
24And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

9But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
