3Ele reconstruiu os altares idólatras que seu pai Ezequias havia destruído. Construiu altares para o deus Baal e fez uma imagem vergonhosa para Aserá, assim como fizera Acabe, rei de Israel. Inclinou-se diante do deus Sol, da deusa Lua e dos deuses das estrelas e os serviu.
