Ahora, en el año tercero de Oseas, hijo de Ela, rey de Israel, Ezequías, hijo de Acaz, comenzó su reino.

EN el tercer año de Oseas hijo de Ela rey de Israel, comenzó á reinar Ezechîas hijo de Achâz rey de Judá.

Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

Now in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.

Él tenía veinticinco años cuando él comenzó a reinar, él reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Abi; ella era la hija de Zacarías.

Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.

He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.

Él hizo lo correcto ante los ojos del SEÑOR, siguiendo el ejemplo de todo lo que David, su ancestro, había hecho.

Hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho David su padre.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.

He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that David his father had done.

Él removió los lugares altos, destruyó los pilares de piedra, y cortó los postes de Asera. Él rompió en pedazos la serpiente de bronce que Moisés había hecho, porque en esos días la gente de Israel le estaba quemando incienso; y la llamaban "Nehustán."

El quitó los altos, y quebró las imágenes, y taló los bosques, é hizo pedazos la serpiente de bronce que había hecho Moisés, porque hasta entonces le quemaban perfumes los hijos de Israel; y llamóle por nombre Nehustán.

He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

He removed the high places, broke the pillars, and cut down the Asherah. He also broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because in those days the children of Israel burned incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.

Ezequías confiaba en el SEÑOR, el Dios de Israel, de tal manera, que después de él no había nadie como él entre todos los reyes de Judá, ni entre los reyes quienes estaban antes de él.

En Jehová Dios de Israel puso su esperanza: después ni antes de él no hubo otro como él en todos los reyes de Judá.

He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.

Porque él se aferró al SEÑOR. Él no dejó de seguirle, pero guardó sus mandamientos, los cuales el SEÑOR ordenó a Moisés.

Porque se llegó á Jehová, y no se apartó de él, sino que guardó los mandamientos que Jehová prescribió á Moisés.

For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.

For he joined with the LORD. He didn’t depart from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.

Pues el SEÑOR estaba con Ezequías, y a donde quiera que él iba, prosperaba. Él se rebeló contra el rey de Asiria y no le servía.

Y Jehová fué con él; y en todas las cosas á que salía prosperaba. El se rebeló contra el rey de Asiria, y no le sirvió.

And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.

The LORD was with him. Wherever he went, he prospered. He rebelled against the king of Assyria, and didn’t serve him.

Él atacó a los filisteos hasta Gaza y las fronteras alrededor, desde las torres de los guardias a la ciudad fortificada.

Hirió también á los Filisteos hasta Gaza y sus términos, desde las torres de las atalayas hasta la ciudad fortalecida.

He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

He struck the Philistines to Gaza and its borders, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city.

En el cuarto año del rey Ezequías, el cual era el séptimo año de Oseas, hijo de Ela, rey de Israel, Salmanasar, rey de Asiria, subió contra Samaria y la sitió.

En el cuarto año del rey Ezechîas, que era el año séptimo de Oseas hijo de Ela rey de Israel, subió Salmanasar rey de los Asirios contra Samaria, y cercóla.

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.

In the fourth year of King Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it.

Al final de tres años ellos la tomaron, en el sexto año de Ezequías, el cual era el noveno año de Oseas, rey de Israel; en esta forma Samaria fue capturada.

Y tomáronla al cabo de tres años; esto es, en el sexto año de Ezechîas, el cual era el año nono de Oseas rey de Israel, fué Samaria tomada.

And at the end of three years they took it: even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.

Entonces el rey de Asiria se llevó a Israel para Asiria y los puso en Hala y en el río Habor en Gozán y en las ciudades de los medos.

Y el rey de Asiria traspuso á Israel á Asiria, y púsolos en Hala, y en Habor, junto al río de Gozán, y en las ciudades de los Medos:

And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes:

The king of Assyria carried Israel away to Assyria, and put them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,

Él hizo esto porque ellos no obedecían la voz del SEÑOR su Dios, pero ellos violaron los términos de Su pacto, y todo lo que Moisés, el siervo del SEÑOR, ordenó. Ellos se negaron a escucharlo o hacerlo.

Por cuanto no habían atendido la voz de Jehová su Dios, antes habían quebrantado su pacto; y todas las cosas que Moisés siervo de Jehová había mandado, ni las habían escuchado, ni puesto por obra.

Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.

Entonces, en el décimocuarto año del rey Ezequías, Senaquerib, rey de Asiria, atacó todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá y las capturó.

Y á los catorce años del rey Ezechîas, subió Sennachêrib rey de Asiria contra todas las ciudades fuertes de Judá, y tomólas.

Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them.

Entonces Ezequías, rey de Judá, le envió palabra al rey de Asiria, quien estaba en Laquis, diciendo: "Yo te he ofendido. Retírate de mí. Lo que sea pongas en mí, yo lo soportaré." El rey de Asiria le requirió a Ezequías, rey de Judá, pagar trescientos talentos de plata y treinta talentos de oro.

Entonces Ezechîas rey de Judá envió á decir al rey de Asiria en Lachîs: Yo he pecado: vuélvete de mí, y llevaré todo lo que me impusieres. Y el rey de Asiria impuso á Ezechîas rey de Judá trescientos talentos de plata, y treinta talentos de oro.

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.

Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, “I have offended you. Withdraw from me. That which you put on me, I will bear.” The king of Assyria appointed to Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.

Entonces Ezequías le dio a él toda la plata que se encontró en la casa del SEÑOR y en la tesorería del palacio del rey.

Dió por tanto Ezechîas toda la plata que fué hallada en la casa de Jehová, y en los tesoros de la casa real.

And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house.

Entonces, Ezequías cortó el oro de las puertas del templo del SEÑOR y de los pilares que él había sobrepuesto; él le dio el oro al rey de Asiria.

Entonces descompuso Ezechîas las puertas del templo de Jehová, y los quiciales que el mismo rey Ezechîas había cubierto de oro, y diólo al rey de Asiria.

At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.

Pero el rey de Asiria movilizó su gran ejército, enviándole a Tartán y a Rabsaris y al jefe comandante de Laquis al rey Ezequías a Jerusalén. Ellos subieron por los caminos y llegaron afuera de Jerusalén. Ellos se acercaron al conducto del estanque superior, en el camino del campo de los lavadores, y se pararon al lado.

And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab-shakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field.

Cuando habían llamado al rey Ezequías, Elakim, hijo de Hilcías, quien estaba sobre la casa, y Sebna el escriba, y Joa, hijo de Asaf, el cronista, salieron a recibirlos.

Llamaron luego al rey, y salió á ellos Eliacim hijo de Hilcías, que era mayordomo, y Sebna escriba, y Joah hijo de Asaph, canciller.

And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder.

When they had called to the king, Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder came out to them.

Entonces, el jefe comandante les dijo a ellos que le dijeran a Ezequías que el gran rey, el rey de Asiria, dijo: "¿Cuál es la fuente de tu confianza?

Y díjoles Rabsaces: Decid ahora á Ezechîas: Así dice el gran rey de Asiria: ¿Qué confianza es esta en que tú estás?

And Rab-shakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?

Rabshakeh said to them, “Say now to Hezekiah, ‘The great king, the king of Assyria, says, “What confidence is this in which you trust?

Tú hablas solo palabras inútiles, diciendo que hay aliados y fuerzas para la guerra. Ahora, ¿en quién confias? ¿Quién te ha dado coraje para rebelarte en contra mía?

Dices, (por cierto palabras de labios): Consejo tengo y esfuerzo para la guerra. Mas ¿en qué confías, que te has rebelado contra mí?

Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words,) I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?

You say (but they are but vain words), ‘There is counsel and strength for war.’ Now on whom do you trust, that you have rebelled against me?

Mira, tú confías en el bastón de caminar de esta maltratada caña de Egipto, pero si un hombre se recuesta en ella, se le clavará en la mano y la traspasará. Eso es lo que Faraón, rey de Egipto, es para todo aquel que confíe en él.

He aquí tú confías ahora en este bordón de caña cascada, en Egipto, en el que si alguno se apoyare, entrarále por la mano, y se le pasará. Tal es Faraón rey de Egipto, para todos los que en él confían.

Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.

Pero si ustedes me dicen: 'Nosotros estamos confiando en el SEÑOR, nuestro Dios,' ¿no es Él, Aquel cuyos lugares altos y altares Ezequías ha quitado, y le ha dicho a Judá y a Jerusalén: 'ustedes deben adorar ante este altar en Jerusalén'?

Y si me decís: Nosotros confiamos en Jehová nuestro Dios: ¿no es aquél cuyos altos y altares ha quitado Ezechîas, y ha dicho á Judá y á Jerusalem: Delante de este altar adoraréis en Jerusalem?

But if ye say unto me, We trust in the LORD our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?

But if you tell me, ‘We trust in the LORD our God,’ isn’t that he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem’?

Ahora entonces, quiero hacerles una buena oferta de parte de mi señor, el rey de Asiria. Yo les daré dos mil caballos, si ustedes son capaces de encontrar jinetes para ellos.

Por tanto, ahora yo te ruego que des rehenes á mi señor, el rey de Asiria, y yo te daré dos mil caballos, si tú pudieres dar jinetes para ellos.

Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.

Now therefore, please give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses if you are able on your part to set riders on them.

¿Cómo pueden ustedes siquiera resistir un capitán de los menores de los sirvientes de mi amo? ¡Ustedes han puesto su confianza en Egipto para carros y jinetes!

¿Cómo pues harás volver el rostro de un capitán el menor de los siervos de mi señor, aunque estés confiado en Egipto por sus carros y su gente de á caballo?

How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

¿He subido yo aquí sin el SEÑOR para pelear en contra de este lugar y destruirlo? El SEÑOR me dijo a mí: 'Ataca este lugar y destrúyelo.'"

Además, ¿he venido yo ahora sin Jehová á este lugar, para destruirlo? Jehová me ha dicho: Sube á esta tierra, y destrúyela.

Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

Entonces, Eliaquim, hijo de Hilcías, y Sebna, y Joá le dijeron al jefe comandante: "Por favor, háblale a tus siervos en el lenguaje arameo, porque nosotros lo entendemos. No hables con nosotros en el lenguaje de Judá en los oidos de la gente quienes están en la muralla."

Entonces dijo Eliacim hijo de Hilcías, y Sebna y Joah, á Rabsaces: Ruégote que hables á tus siervos siriaco, porque nosotros lo entendemos, y no hables con nosotros judaico á oídos del pueblo que está sobre el muro.

Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rab-shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, Shebnah, and Joah, said to Rabshakeh, “Please speak to your servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it. Don’t speak with us in the Jews’ language, in the hearing of the people who are on the wall.”

Pero el jefe comandante les dijo a ellos: "¿Me ha enviado mi señor a su señor y a ustedes para hablar estas palabras? ¿No me ha enviado a los hombres que se sientan en la muralla, quienes tendrán que comer su propio excremento y a beberse su propia orina con ustedes?"

Y Rabsaces les dijo: ¿Hame enviado mi señor á ti y á tu señor para decir estas palabras, y no antes á los hombres que están sobre el muro, para comer su estiércol, y beber el agua de sus pies con vosotros?

But Rab-shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

But Rabshakeh said to them, “Has my master sent me to your master and to you, to speak these words? Hasn’t he sent me to the men who sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own urine with you?”

Entonces, el jefe comandante se paró y gritó en voz alta en el lenguaje de los judíos, diciendo: "Escuchen las palabras del rey de Asiria.

Paróse luego Rabsaces, y clamó á gran voz en judaico, y habló, diciendo: Oid la palabra del gran rey, el rey de Asiria.

Then Rab-shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria:

El rey dice: 'No dejen que Ezequías los engañe, porque él no será capaz de rescatarlos a ustedes con mi poder.

Así ha dicho el rey: No os engañe Ezechîas, porque no os podrá librar de mi mano.

Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand:

The king says, ‘Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand.

No dejen que Ezequías los haga confiar en el SEÑOR, diciendo: "El SEÑOR ciertamente nos rescatará a nosotros, y ésta ciudad no será dada en la mano del rey de Asiria.'"

Y no os haga Ezechîas confiar en Jehová, diciendo: De cierto nos librará Jehová, y esta ciudad no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Don’t let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, “The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

No escuchen a Ezequías, porque esto es lo que dice el rey de Asiria: 'Hagan la paz conmigo y vengan a mí. Entonces cada uno de ustedes comerá de su propio vino y de su propia higuera, y beberá del agua en su propia cisterna.

No oigáis á Ezechîas, porque así dice el rey de Asiria: Haced conmigo paz, y salid á mí, y cada uno comerá de su vid, y de su higuera, y cada uno beberá las aguas de su pozo;

Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern:

Don’t listen to Hezekiah.’ For the king of Assyria says, ‘Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and everyone of you eat from his own vine, and everyone from his own fig tree, and everyone drink water from his own cistern;

Ustedes harán esto hasta que yo venga y los lleve a una tierra como su propia tierra, una tierra de grano y vino nuevo, una tierra de pan y viñedos, una tierra de olivos y miel, para que puedan vivir y no morir.' No escuchen a Ezequías cuando los trate de persuadir a ustedes diciendo: "El SEÑOR nos rescatará."

Hasta que yo venga, y os lleve á una tierra como la vuestra, tierra de grano y de vino, tierra de pan y de viñas, tierra de olivas, de aceite, y de miel; y viviréis, y no moriréis. No oigáis á Ezechîas, porque os engaña cuando dice: Jehová nos librará.

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The LORD will deliver us.

until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and of honey, that you may live and not die. Don’t listen to Hezekiah when he persuades you, saying, “The LORD will deliver us.”

¿Alguno de los dioses ha rescatado a la gente de la mano del rey de Asiria?

¿Acaso alguno de los dioses de las gentes ha librado su tierra de la mano del rey de Asiria?

Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered at all his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Has any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

¿Dónde están los dioses de Hamat y Arfad? ¿Dónde están los dioses de Serfavaim, Hena y Iva? ¿Cuándo ellos han rescatado a Samaria fuera de mi mano?

¿Dónde está el dios de Hamath, y de Arphad? ¿dónde el dios de Sepharvaim, de Hena, y de Hiva? ¿pudieron éstos librar á Samaria de mi mano?

Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? have they delivered Samaria out of mine hand?

Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

Entre todos los dioses de la tierra, ¿hay algún dios quien haya rescatado su tierra de mi poder? ¿Cómo podría el SEÑOR salvar a Jerusalén de mi fuerza?

¿Qué dios de todos los dioses de las provincias ha librado á su provincia de mi mano, para que libre Jehová de mi mano á Jerusalem?

Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?

Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’”

Pero la gente se quedó en silencio y no respondió, porque el rey ordenó: "No le respondan."

Y el pueblo calló, que no le respondieron palabra: porque había mandamiento del rey, el cual había dicho: No le respondáis.

But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not.

But the people stayed quiet, and answered him not a word; for the king’s commandment was, “Don’t answer him.”

Entonces Eliaquim, el hijo de Hilcías, quien estaba sobre la casa, Sebna el escriba; y Joá, hijo de Asaf, el cronista, vinieron a Ezequías con sus ropas rasgadas, y le reportaron a él las palabras del jefe comandante.

Entonces Eliacim hijo de Hilcías, que era mayordomo, y Sebna el escriba, y Joah hijo de Asaph, canciller, vinieron á Ezechîas, rotos sus vestidos, y recitáronle las palabras de Rabsaces.

Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rab-shakeh.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, came with Shebna the scribe and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him Rabshakeh’s words.
