1Im zwölften Jahre des Judakönigs Achaz ward Hosea, Elas Sohn, zu Samaria König aber Israel für neun Jahre.
2Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, aber nicht wie Israels Könige, die vor ihm gewesen waren.
3Gegen ihn zog der Assyrerkönig Salmanassar heran. Und Hosea ward ihm untertan und lieferte ihm Abgaben.
4Da fand der Assyrerkönig an Hosea Verrat, weil er Boten an Ägyptens König So gesandt und nicht mehr die jährlichen Abgaben an den Assyrerkönig geleistet hatte. Darum verhaftete ihn der Assyrerkönig und legte ihn gefesselt ins Gefängnis.
5Und der Assyrerkönig besetzte das ganze Land. Er zog auch gegen Samaria und belagerte es drei Jahre.
6Im neunten Jahre Hoseas aber eroberte der Assyrerkönig Samaria; er führte Israel nach Assyrien und gab ihm Wohnsitze in Chalach und am Chabor, dem Flusse Gozans, und in Mediens Städten.
7Die Söhne Israels hatten am Herrn, ihrem Gott, gesündigt, der sie aus Ägypterland, aus des ägyptischen Königs Pharao Hand, weggeführt hatte. Sie verehrten andere Götter
8und wandelten in den Satzungen der Heiden, die der Herr vor Israels Söhnen vertrieben hatte. Und erst Israels Könige! Was hatten sie getan?
9Die Söhne Israels führten unwahre Reden über den Herrn, ihren Gott, und bauten sich Höhen in all ihren Städten, vom Wachtturm bis zur befestigten Stadt.
10Auch setzten sie sich Steinmale und Ascheren auf jedem hohen Hügel und unter jedem grünen Baum.
11Dort räucherten sie auf allen Höhen wie die Heiden, die der Herr vor ihnen weggeführt, und taten böse Dinge, um den Herrn zu kränken.
12Sie dienten den Götzen, von denen der Herr zu ihnen gesagt: "Tut dies nicht!"
13Der Herr verwarnte Israel und Juda durch seine Propheten, durch jeden Seher mit den Worten: "Kehrt um von euren bösen Wegen und haltet meine Satzungen und Vorschriften genau der Lehre nach, die ich euren Vätern geboten, nach dem, was ich durch meine Diener, die Propheten, euch entboten habe!"
14Sie aber hatten nicht gehorcht, sondern waren halsstarrig wie ihre Väter, die dem Herrn, ihrem Gott, nicht vertraut hatten.
15Sie mißachteten seine Gesetze und seinen Bund, den er mit ihren Vätern geschlossen, ebenso seine Warnungen, durch die er sie gewarnt hatte. Sie gingen dem Nichtigen nach und verfielen der Nichtigkeit wie die Heiden, die rings um sie waren, obgleich der Herr ihnen verboten hatte, zu tun wie jene.
16Sie verließen alle Gebote des Herrn, ihres Gottes, und machten sich Gußbilder, zwei Kälber. Auch machten sie Ascheren, beteten das ganze Himmelsheer an und dienten dem Baal.
17Sie führten ihre Söhne und Töchter durch das Feuer, trieben Wahrsagerei und Zeichendeuterei und gaben sich dazu her, zu tun, was dem Herrn mißfiel, um ihn zu kränken.
18Da zürnte der Herr heftig über Israel und schaffte es von seinem Angesichte weg. Nichts blieb übrig als allein der Stamm Juda.
19Aber auch Juda hielt nicht die Gebote des Herrn, seines Gottes, sondern wandelte in Israels Satzungen, die es selber gemacht hatte.
20So verwarf der Herr Israels ganzen Stamm und demütigte ihn. Er gab ihn in die Hand von Plünderern, bis er sie schließlich ganz von seinem Angesicht verstieß.
21Denn Israel hatte sich vom Davidshause losgerissen und Nebats Sohn Jeroboam zum König gemacht. Jeroboam aber drängte Israel vom Herrn hinweg und verleitete es zu schwerer Sünde.
22So wandelten Israels Söhne ganz in Jeroboams Sünden, die er getan. Sie ließen nicht davon,
23bis der Herr schließlich Israel von seinem Antlitz verstieß, wie er durch all seine Diener, die Propheten, gedroht hatte. So wanderte Israel von seiner Heimat in die assyrische Gefangenschaft bis auf diesen Tag.
24Der Assyrerkönig brachte nun Leute aus Babel, Kuta, Awwa, Hamat und Sepharvaim und siedelte sie in Samarias Städten statt der Söhne Israels an. So nahmen sie Samaria in Besitz und wohnten in seinen Städten.
25In der ersten Zeit, da sie dort wohnten, fürchteten sie den Herrn nicht. Da sandte der Herr Löwen gegen sie, und diese würgten unter ihnen.
26Da meldete man dem Assyrerkönig: "Die Völker, die du weggeführt und in Samarias Städten angesiedelt hast, kennen nicht das Recht des Landesgottes. Darum sandte er die Löwen unter sie, und diese würgten sie, weil sie nicht des Landesgottes Recht kennen."
27Da befahl der Assyrerkönig: "Führt dorthin einen der Priester zurück, die ihr von dort weggeführt habt! Er gehe und wohne dort und belehre sie über das Recht des Landesgottes!"
28So kam einer der aus Samaria weggeführten Priester und wohnte in Betel. Und er lehrte sie, wie sie den Herrn zu fürchten hätten.
29Sie machten sich aber, Volk für Volk, jedes seinen eigenen Gott und stellten ihn in das Haus der Höhen, die die Samariter gemacht hatten, jedes Volk in seinen Städten, wo es wohnte.
30So machten sich die Leute von Babel Sukkot Benot, die Leute von Kuta den Nergal, die Leute von Hamat eine Aschima
31und die Arriter den Nibchaz und den Tartak. Die Sepharviter verbrannten ihre Kinder im Feuer zu Ehren des Adarmelek und des Anammelek, der Götter von Sepharvaim.
32Sie fürchteten aber auch den Herrn und bestellten sich aus ihren Vornehmen Leute zu Höhenpriestern, und diese waren für sie im Höhenhaus tätig.
33Den Herrn fürchteten sie zwar; aber ihren Göttern dienten sie auch nach der Art der Heiden, von denen man sie weggeführt hatte.
34Bis auf diesen Tag tun sie nach den alten Gebräuchen. Sie fürchten zwar den Herrn, tun aber auch nach ihren Geboten und Rechten, wie nach der Lehre und dem Gebot, das der Herr den Söhnen Jakobs gegeben hat, dem er den Namen Israel beilegte,
35und mit denen der Herr einen Bund geschlossen und ihnen geboten hatte: "Fürchtet nicht andere Götter! Betet sie nicht an! Dient ihnen nicht! Opfert ihnen nicht!
36Sondern nur den Herrn, der euch aus Ägypterland mit großer Kraft und ausgestrecktem Arm herausgeführt hat, fürchtet und ihn betet an und ihm opfert!
37Und die Satzungen und Rechte, die Lehre und das Gebot, das er euch aufgeschrieben, sollt ihr beobachten und allzeit befolgen! Aber andere Götter fürchtet nicht!
38Den Bund, den ich mit euch geschlossen, sollt ihr nicht vergessen und keine anderen Götter fürchten!
39Nur den Herrn, euren Gott, sollt ihr fürchten! Dann rettet er euch aus all eurer Feinde Hand."
40Aber sie gehorchten nicht, sondern taten nach ihrer alten Art.
41So fürchteten diese Heidenvölker zwar den Herrn; aber sie dienten auch ihren Schnitzbildern. Und selbst ihre Söhne und Enkel tun, wie ihre Väter bis auf diesen Tag getan haben.

1EN el año duodécimo de Achâz rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Oseas hijo de Ela en Samaria sobre Israel; y reinó nueve años.
2E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido.
3Contra éste subió Salmanasar rey de los Asirios; y Oseas fué hecho su siervo, y pagábale tributo.
4Mas el rey de Asiria halló que Oseas hacía conjuración: porque había enviado embajadores á So, rey de Egipto, y no pagaba tributo al rey de Asiria, como cada año: por lo que el rey de Asiria le detuvo, y le aprisionó en la casa de la cárcel.
5Y el rey de Asiria partió contra todo el país, y subió contra Samaria, y estuvo sobre ella tres años.
6En el año nueve de Oseas tomó el rey de Asiria á Samaria, y trasportó á Israel á Asiria, y púsolos en Hala, y en Habor, junto al río de Gozán, y en las ciudades de los Medos.
7Porque como los hijos de Israel pecasen contra Jehová su Dios, que los sacó de tierra de Egipto de bajo la mano de Faraón rey de Egipto, y temiesen á dioses ajenos,
8Y anduviesen en los estatutos de las gentes que Jehová había lanzado delante de los hijos de Israel, y en los de los reyes de Israel, que hicieron;
9Y como los hijos de Israel paliasen cosas no rectas contra Jehová su Dios, edificándose altos en todas sus ciudades, desde las torres de las atalayas hasta las ciudades fuertes,
10Y se levantasen estatuas y bosques en todo collado alto, y debajo de todo árbol umbroso,
11Y quemasen allí perfumes en todos los altos, á la manera de las gentes que había Jehová traspuesto delante de ellos, é hiciesen cosas muy malas para provocar á ira á Jehová,
12Pues servían á los ídolos, de los cuales Jehová les había dicho: Vosotros no habéis de hacer esto;
13Jehová protestaba entonces contra Israel y contra Judá, por mano de todos los profetas, y de todos los videntes, diciendo: Volveos de vuestros malos caminos, y guardad mis mandamientos y mis ordenanzas, conforme á todas las leyes que yo prescribí á vuestros padres, y que os he enviado por mano de mis siervos los profetas.
14Mas ellos no obedecieron, antes endurecieron su cerviz, como la cerviz de sus padres, los cuales no creyeron en Jehová su Dios.
15Y desecharon sus estatutos, y su pacto que él había concertado con sus padres, y sus testimonios que él había protestado contra ellos; y siguieron la vanidad, y se hicieron vanos, y fueron en pos de las gentes que estaban alrededor de ellos, de las cuales les había Jehová mandado que no hiciesen á la manera de ellas:
16Y dejaron todos los mandamientos de Jehová su Dios, é hiciéronse vaciadizos dos becerros, y también bosques, y adoraron á todo el ejército del cielo, y sirvieron á Baal:
17E hicieron pasar á sus hijos y á sus hijas por fuego; y diéronse á adivinaciones y agüeros, y entregáronse á hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira.
18Jehová por tanto se airó en gran manera contra Israel, y quitólos de delante de su rostro; que no quedó sino sólo la tribu de Judá.
19Mas ni aun Judá guardó los mandamientos de Jehová su Dios; antes anduvieron en los estatutos de Israel, los cuales habían ellos hecho.
20Y desechó Jehová toda la simiente de Israel, y afligiólos, y entrególos en manos de saqueadores, hasta echarlos de su presencia.
21Porque cortó á Israel de la casa de David, y ellos se hicieron rey á Jeroboam hijo de Nabat; y Jeroboam rempujó á Israel de en pos de Jehová, é hízoles cometer gran pecado.
22Y los hijos de Israel anduvieron en todos los pecados de Jeroboam que él hizo, sin apartarse de ellos;
23Hasta tanto que Jehová quitó á Israel de delante de su rostro, como lo había él dicho por mano de todos los profetas sus siervos: é Israel fué trasportado de su tierra á Asiria, hasta hoy.
24Y trajo el rey de Asiria gente de Babilonia, y de Cutha, y de Ava, y de Hamath, y de Sepharvaim, y púsolos en las ciudades de Samaria, en lugar de los hijos de Israel; y poseyeron á Samaria, y habitaron en sus ciudades.
25Y aconteció al principio, cuando comenzaron á habitar allí, que no temiendo ellos á Jehová, envió Jehová contra ellos leones que los mataban.
26Entonces dijeron ellos al rey de Asiria: Las gentes que tú traspasaste y pusiste en las ciudades de Samaria, no saben la costumbre del Dios de aquella tierra, y él ha echado leones en ellos, y he aquí los matan, porque no saben la costumbre del Dios de la tierra.
27Y el rey de Asiria mandó, diciendo: Llevad allí á alguno de los sacerdotes que trajisteis de allá, y vayan y habiten allí, y enséñenles la costumbre del Dios del país.
28Y vino uno de los sacerdotes que habían trasportado de Samaria, y habitó en Beth-el, y enseñóles cómo habían de temer á Jehová.
29Mas cada nación se hizo sus dioses, y pusiéronlos en los templos de los altos que habían hecho los de Samaria; cada nación en su ciudad donde habitaba.
30Los de Babilonia hicieron á Succoth-benoth, y los de Cutha hicieron á Nergal, y los de Hamath hicieron á Asima;
31Los Heveos hicieron á Nibhaz y á Tharthac; y los de Sepharvaim quemaban sus hijos al fuego á Adra-melech y á Anamelech, dioses de Sepharvaim.

34Hasta hoy hacen como primero; que ni temen á Jehová, ni guardan sus estatutos, ni sus ordenanzas, ni hacen según la ley y los mandamientos que prescribió Jehová á los hijos de Jacob, al cual puso el nombre de Israel;
35Con los cuales había Jehová hecho pacto, y les mandó, diciendo: No temeréis á otros dioses, ni los adoraréis, ni les serviréis, ni les sacrificaréis:
36Mas á Jehová, que os sacó de tierra de Egipto con grande poder y brazo extendido, á éste temeréis, y á éste adoraréis, y á éste haréis sacrificio.
37Los estatutos y derechos y ley y mandamientos que os dió por escrito, cuidaréis siempre de ponerlos por obra, y no temeréis dioses ajenos.
38Y no olvidaréis el pacto que hice con vosotros; ni temeréis dioses ajenos:
39Mas temed á Jehová vuestro Dios, y él os librará de mano de todos vuestros enemigos.
40Empero ellos no escucharon; antes hicieron según su costumbre antigua.
41Así temieron á Jehová aquellas gentes, y juntamente sirvieron á sus ídolos: y también sus hijos y sus nietos, según que hicieron sus padres, así hacen hasta hoy.

1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
4And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
12For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
13Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
15And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
18Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
22For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
24And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
25And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
26Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
28Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
29Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
30And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
32So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
33They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
34Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
35With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
36But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
37And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
38And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
39But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
40Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.
41So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel for nine years.
2He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him.
3Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.
4The king of Assyria discovered a conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year. Therefore the king of Assyria seized him, and bound him in prison.
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

28So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
29However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.

36but you shall fear the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.
37The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever more. You shall not fear other gods.
38You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods.
39But you shall fear the LORD your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
40However they didn’t listen, but they did what they did before.
41So these nations feared the LORD, and also served their engraved images. Their children did likewise, and so did their children’s children. They do as their fathers did to this day.
