Palabra de Dios para Ti
1El año segundo de Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá.
2Tenía 25 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó 29 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Joadán, de Jerusalén.
3Hizo lo recto ante Yavé, aunque no como David, su antepasado. Hizo conforme a todo lo que hizo Joás su padre.
4Sin embargo, los lugares altos no fueron quitados, porque el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.
5Sucedió que cuando el reino se afirmó en sus manos, mató a los esclavos que asesinaron a su padre el rey.
6Pero no mató a los hijos de los asesinos, según lo escrito en el Rollo de la Ley de Moisés, donde Yavé mandó: No morirán los padres por los hijos, ni los hijos morirán por los padres, sino que cada cual morirá por su pecado.
7Él mató a 10.000 de Edom en el valle de la Sal. Durante la guerra conquistó Sela y la llamó Jocteel, hasta hoy.
8Amasías envió mensajeros a Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, hijo de Jehú, rey de Israel, y le dijo: ¡Ven, veámonos las caras!
9Jeoás, rey de Israel, envió a decir a Amasías, rey de Judá: El cardo del Líbano envió a decir al cedro del Líbano: Da tu hija como esposa a mi hijo. Pasó una fiera salvaje del Líbano y pisoteó el cardo.
10Ciertamente derrotaste a Edom, y tu corazón se enalteció. ¡Ufánate de eso y quédate en tu casa! ¿Por qué provocas una calamidad en la que puedes caer tú y Judá contigo?
11Pero Amasías no escuchó, por lo cual Jeoás, rey de Israel, salió y se vieron las caras, él y Amasías, rey de Judá, en Bet-semes, que es de Judá.
12Judá fue derrotado por Israel, y huyeron cada uno a su tienda.
13Jeoás, rey de Israel, capturó a Amasías, rey de Judá, hijo de Joás, hijo de Ocozías, en Bet-semes. Entró en Jerusalén y rompió el muro de Jerusalén desde la puerta de Efraín hasta la puerta de la esquina, 180 metros en total.
14Después tomó todo el oro, la plata y todos los utensilios que estaban en la Casa de Yavé y en los tesoros de la casa real. Tomó rehenes y volvió a Samaria.
15El resto de los hechos que realizó Jeoás, su valor y cómo luchó contra Amasías, rey de Judá, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
16Jeoás descansó con sus antepasados, y fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Jeroboam.
17Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá, vivió 15 años después de la muerte de Jeoás, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel.
18Los demás hechos de Amasías, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
19Conspiraron contra él en Jerusalén. Él huyó a Laquis, pero lo persiguieron hasta Laquis, y allí lo mataron.
20Lo llevaron a Jerusalén sobre caballos, y fue sepultado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David.
21Entonces todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Azarías, quien tenía 16 años, y lo llevaron a reinar en lugar de su padre Amasías.
22Él reedificó Elat y la restituyó a Judá, después que el rey descansó con sus antepasados.
23El año 15 de Amasías, hijo de Joás, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Jeroboam, hijo de Jeoás, rey de Israel, en Samaria, y reinó 41 años.
24Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, y no se apartó de todos los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel.
25Él restableció la frontera de Israel desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el mar del Arabá, según la Palabra de Yavé, ʼElohim de Israel, que dio por medio de su esclavo Jonás, hijo de Amitay, el profeta de Gat-hefer.
26Pues Yavé vio la amarga aflicción de Israel, la cual padecían tanto esclavos como libres, sin que alguien ayudara a Israel.
27Yavé determinó no borrar el nombre de Israel de debajo del cielo. Por eso los libró por mano de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás.
28Todo lo que hizo Jeroboam, su valor con que luchó y cómo recuperó a Damasco y a Hamat (que fueron de Judá) para Israel, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
29Jeroboam descansó con sus antepasados, con los reyes de Israel, y su hijo Zacarías reinó en su lugar.

1EN el año segundo de Joas hijo de Joachâz rey de Israel, comenzó á reinar Amasías hijo de Joas rey de Judá.
2Cuando comenzó á reinar era de veinticinco años, y veintinueve años reinó en Jerusalem: el nombre de su madre fué Joaddan, de Jerusalem.
3Y él hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como David su padre: hizo conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho Joas su padre.
4Con todo eso los altos no fueron quitados; que el pueblo aun sacrificaba y quemaba perfumes en los altos.
5Y luego que el reino fué confirmado en su mano, hirió á sus siervos, los que habían muerto al rey su padre.
6Mas no mató á los hijos de los que le mataron, conforme á lo que está escrito en el libro de la ley de Moisés, donde Jehová mandó, diciendo: No matarán á los padres por los hijos, ni á los hijos por los padres: mas cada uno morirá por su pecado.
7Este hirió asimismo diez mil Idumeos en el valle de las Salinas, y tomó á Sela por guerra, y llamóla Jocteel, hasta hoy.
8Entonces Amasías envió embajadores á Joas, hijo de Joachâz hijo de Jehú, rey de Israel, diciendo: Ven, y veámonos de rostro.
9Y Joas rey de Israel envió á Amasías rey de Judá esta respuesta: El cardillo que está en el Líbano envió á decir al cedro que está en el Líbano: Da tu hija por mujer á mi hijo. Y pasaron las bestias fieras que están en el Líbano, y hollaron el cardillo.
10Ciertamente has herido á Edom, y tu corazón te ha envanecido: gloríate pues, mas estáte en tu casa. ¿Y por qué te entrometerás en un mal, para que caigas tú, y Judá contigo?
11Mas Amasías no dió oídos; por lo que subió Joas rey de Israel, y viéronse de rostro él y Amasías rey de Judá, en Beth-semes, que es de Judá.
12Y Judá cayó delante de Israel, y huyeron cada uno á sus estancias.
13Además Joas rey de Israel tomó á Amasías rey de Judá, hijo de Joas hijo de Ochôzías, en Beth-semes: y vino á Jerusalem, y rompió el muro de Jerusalem desde la puerta de Ephraim hasta la puerta de la esquina, cuatrocientos codos.
14Y tomó todo el oro y la plata, y todos los vasos que fueron hallados en la casa de Jehová, y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y los hijos en rehenes, y volvióse á Samaria.
15Lo demás de los hechos de Joas que ejecutó, y sus hazañas, y cómo peleó contra Amasías rey de Judá, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
16Y durmió Joas con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel; y reinó en su lugar Jeroboam su hijo.
17Y Amasías hijo de Joas rey de Judá, vivió después de la muerte de Joas hijo de Joachâz rey de Israel, quince años.

19E hicieron conspiración contra él en Jerusalem, y él huyó á Lachîs; mas enviaron tras él á Lachîs, y allá lo mataron.

25El restituyó los términos de Israel desde la entrada de Amath hasta la mar de la llanura, conforme á la palabra de Jehová Dios de Israel, la cual había él hablado por su siervo Jonás hijo de Amittai, profeta que fué de Gath-hepher.
26Por cuanto Jehová miró la muy amarga aflicción de Israel; que no había guardado ni desamparado, ni quien diese ayuda á Israel;
27Y Jehová no había determinado raer el nombre de Israel de debajo del cielo: por tanto, los salvó por mano de Jeroboam hijo de Joas.
28Y lo demás de los hechos de Jeroboam, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su valentía, y todas las guerras que hizo, y cómo restituyó á Judá en Israel á Damasco y á Hamath, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
29Y durmió Jeroboam con sus padres, los reyes de Israel, y reinó en su lugar Zachârías su hijo.

1In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
2He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
3And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.
4Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.
5And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
6But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
7He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
8Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
9And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
10Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
11But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth-shemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
12And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.
13And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
14And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
15Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
17And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
18And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
19Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
20And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
21And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.
22He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
23In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
24And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
25He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gath-hepher.
26For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.
27And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
28Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
29And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.

5As soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,
6but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

10You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”
11But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
12Judah was defeated by Israel; and each man fled to his tent.
13Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh and came to Jerusalem, then broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
