21Os oficiais que o assassinaram foram Jozacar, filho de Simeate, e Jeozabade, filho de Somer; ambos eram homens de confiança do rei. Joás foi sepultado no cemitério real em Jerusalém, e seu filho Amazias reinou em seu lugar.
