Ahora, cuando Atalía la madre de Ocozías, vio que su hijo estaba muerto, ella se levantó y mató a los hijos de la familia real.

Y ATHALÍA madre de Ochôzías, viendo que su hijo era muerto, levantóse, y destruyó toda la simiente real.

And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.

Pero Josaba, una hija del rey Joram y hermana de Ocozías, tomó a Joás, hijo de Ocozías y lo escodió lejos de entre los hijos que fueron asesinados, junto con su criada; ella los puso adentro de una habitación. Ellos lo escondieron de Atalía, para que no fuera asesinado.

Pero tomando Josaba hija del rey Joram, hermana de Ochôzías, á Joas hijo de Ochôzías, sacólo furtivamente de entre los hijos del rey, que se mataban, y ocultólo de delante de Athalía, á él y á su ama, en la cámara de las camas, y así no lo mataron.

But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

Y Joás estaba con Josaba, escondido en la casa del SEÑOR, por seis años, mientras Atalía reinaba sobre la tierra.

Y estuvo con ella escondido en la casa de Jehová seis años: y Athalía fué reina sobre el país.

And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

En el séptimo año, Joiada envió mensajes y trajo comandantes de cientos de cariteos y de la guardia, y los trajo a sí mismo, adentro del templo del SEÑOR. Él hizo un pacto con ellos, y les hizo jurar un juramento en la casa del SEÑOR. Y luego él les mostró al hijo del rey.

Mas al séptimo año envió Joiada, y tomó centuriones, capitanes, y gente de la guardia, y metiólos consigo en la casa de Jehová: é hizo con ellos liga, juramentándolos en la casa de Jehová; y mostróles al hijo del rey.

And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shewed them the king’s son.

Él les ordenó diciendo: "Ésto es lo que deben hacer. Un tercio de ustedes que vengan en el sábado, van a mantener vigilancia en la casa del rey,

Y mandóles, diciendo: Esto es lo que habéis de hacer: la tercera parte de vosotros, los que entrarán el sábado, tendrán la guardia de la casa del rey;

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king’s house;

He commanded them, saying, “This is what you must do: a third of you, who come in on the Sabbath, shall be keepers of the watch of the king’s house;

y un tercio de ustedes estarán en la puerta sur, y un tercio en la puerta detrás de la casa de la guardia."

Y la otra tercera parte estará á la puerta del sur, y la otra tercera parte á la puerta del postigo de los de la guardia: así guardaréis la casa, para que no sea allanada.

And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.

Y los otros dos grupos, aquellos que no estarán sirviendo en el sábado, deben mantener vigilancia sobre la casa de Dios junto al rey.

Y las dos partes de vosotros, es á saber, todos los que salen el sábado, tendréis la guarda de la casa de Jehová junto al rey.

And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.

Ustedes deben rodear al rey, cada hombre con sus armas en las manos. Cualquiera que entre dentro de sus rangos, que sea asesinado. Ustedes deben quedarse con el rey, cuando él salga y cuando él entre.

Y estaréis alrededor del rey de todas partes, teniendo cada uno sus armas en las manos, y cualquiera que entrare dentro de estos órdenes, sea muerto. Y habéis de estar con el rey cuando saliere, y cuando entrare.

And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

You shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he who comes within the ranks, let him be slain. Be with the king when he goes out, and when he comes in.”

Así que los comandantes de los cientos obedecieron todo lo que el sacerdote Joiada ordenó. Cada uno tomó a sus hombres, aquellos que iban a servir en el sábado, y aquellos que iban a dejar de servir en el sábado; y ellos vinieron a Joiada, el sacerdote.

Los centuriones pues, hicieron todo como el sacerdote Joiada les mandó: y tomando cada uno los suyos, es á saber, los que habían de entrar el sábado, y los que habían salido el sábado, viniéronse á Joiada el sacerdote.

And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

Luego Joiada, el sacerdote, le dio a los comandantes de los cientos las lanzas y escudos que habían sido del rey David, las cuales estaban en la casa del SEÑOR.

Y el sacerdote dió á los centuriones las picas y los escudos que habían sido del rey David, que estaban en la casa de Jehová.

And to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king David’s spears and shields, that were in the temple of the LORD.

The priest delivered to the captains over hundreds the spears and shields that had been King David’s, which were in the LORD’s house.

Así que los de la guardia estuvieron de pie, cada hombre con sus armas en sus manos, desde el lado derecho del templo, hasta el lado izquierdo del templo, rodeando al rey.

Y los de la guardia se pusieron en orden, teniendo cada uno sus armas en sus manos, desde el lado derecho de la casa hasta el lado izquierdo, junto al altar y el templo, en derredor del rey.

And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.

Luego Joiada trajo al hijo del rey, Joás, puso la corona sobre él, y le dio los decretos del pacto. Luego lo hicieron rey, y lo ungieron. Ellos aplaudieron sus manos y dijeron: "¡Larga vida al rey!"

Sacando luego Joiada al hijo del rey, púsole la corona y el testimonio, é hiciéronle rey ungiéndole; y batiendo las manos dijeron: ¡Viva el rey!

And he brought forth the king’s son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

Then he brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the covenant; and they made him king and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, “Long live the king!”

Cuando Atalía escuchó el ruido de los guardias y del pueblo, ella vino a la gente en la casa del SEÑOR.

Y oyendo Athalía el estruendo del pueblo que corría, entró al pueblo en el templo de Jehová;

Ella miró, y contempló, el rey se paraba al lado del pilar, como era la costumbre, y los capitanes y los trompetistas estaban al lado del rey. Toda la gente de la tierra estaba regocijándose y sonando trompetas. Luego Atalía se rasgó la ropa y gritó: "¡Traición, traición!"

Y como miró, he aquí el rey que estaba junto á la columna, conforme á la costumbre, y los príncipes y los trompetas junto al rey; y que todo el pueblo del país hacía alegrías, y que tocaban las trompetas. Entonces Athalía, rasgando sus vestidos, clamó á voz en grito: ¡Traición, traición!

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

Luego, Joiada, el sacerdote, ordenó a los comandantes de los cientos, que estaban sobre el ejército; él les dijo a ellos: "Sáquenla entre las dos filas de los guardas. Todo el que la siga, mátenlo a espada." Pues el sacerdote había dicho: "No dejen que sea asesinada en la casa del SEÑOR."

Mas el sacerdote Joiada mandó á los centuriones que gobernaban el ejército, y díjoles: Sacadla fuera del recinto del templo, y al que la siguiere, matadlo á cuchillo. (Porque el sacerdote dijo que no la matasen en el templo de Jehová.)

But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.

Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks. Kill anyone who follows her with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t let her be slain in the LORD’s house.”

Así que, hicieron camino para ella, y ella fue por el camino de la puerta del caballo, a la casa del rey, y allí la mataron.

Diéronle pues lugar, y como iba el camino por donde entran los de á caballo á la casa del rey, allí la mataron.

And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king’s house: and there was she slain.

So they seized her; and she went by the way of the horses’ entry to the king’s house, and she was slain there.

Luego, Joiada hizo un pacto entre El SEÑOR y el rey y el pueblo, que ellos serían el pueblo del SEÑOR, y así también entre el rey y el pueblo.

Entonces Joiada hizo alianza entre Jehová y el rey y el pueblo, que serían pueblo de Jehová: y asimismo entre el rey y el pueblo.

Y todo el pueblo de la tierra entró en el templo de Baal, y derribáronlo: asimismo despedazaron enteramente sus altares y sus imágenes, y mataron á Mathán sacerdote de Baal delante de los altares. Y el sacerdote puso guarnición sobre la casa de Jehová.

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.

Joiada tomó a los comandantes de los cientos, los cariteos, la guardia y toda la gente de la tierra. Ellos bajaron al rey de la casa del SEÑOR y entraron por la puerta de los guardias a la casa del rey. Así que Joás se sentó en el trono de los reyes.

Después tomó los centuriones, y capitanes, y los de la guardia, y á todo el pueblo de la tierra, y llevaron al rey desde la casa de Jehová, y vinieron por el camino de la puerta de los de la guardia á la casa del rey; y sentóse el rey sobre el trono de los reyes.

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

Así que toda la gente de la tierra se regocijó, y la ciudad estaba callada. En cuanto a Atalía, ellos la mataron con la espada en el palacio del rey.

Y todo el pueblo de la tierra hizo alegrías, y la ciudad estuvo en reposo, habiendo sido Athalía muerta á cuchillo junto á la casa del rey.

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.

So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword at the king’s house.

Joás tenía siete años cuando comenzó a reinar.
