Or Achab avea settanta figliuoli in Samaria. Jehu pertanto scrisse lettere a Samaria ai magnati della città, e ai seniori, e a que', che educavano i figliuoli di Achab, nelle quali diceva:

Y TENÍA Achâb en Samaria setenta hijos; y escribió letras Jehú, y enviólas á Samaria á los principales de Jezreel, á los ancianos y á los ayos de Achâb, diciendo:

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and to those who brought up Ahab’s sons, saying,

Subito che avrete ricevuta questa lettera voi, che avete nelle mani i figliuoli del signor vostro, e i cocchi, e i cavalline le città forti, e le armi.

Luego en llegando estas letras á vosotros los que tenéis los hijos de vuestro señor, y los que tenéis carros y gente de á caballo, la ciudad pertrechada, y las armas,

Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

“Now as soon as this letter comes to you, since your master’s sons are with you, and you have chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor,

Scegliete il migliore, e quello, che più a voi piacerà tra i figliuoli del signor vostro, e collocatelo sul trono del padre suo, e combattete per la famiglia del signor vostro.

Mirad cuál es el mejor y él más recto de los hijos de vuestro señor, y ponedlo en el trono de su padre, y pelead por la casa de vuestro señor.

Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

select the best and fittest of your master’s sons, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”

Coloro ebbero gran paura, e dissero: Ecco, che non han potuto resistere a lui due re, e come potremo resistere noi?

Mas ellos tuvieron gran temor, y dijeron: He aquí dos reyes no pudieron resistirle, ¿cómo le resistiremos nosotros?

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

Per la qual cosa i maggiordomi, e i prefetti delle città, e i seniori, e gli aj mandarono a dire a Jehu: Noi siamo tuoi servi; faremo tutto quello, che tu ordinerai, e non ci eleggeremo un re: fa tutto quel, che ti piace.

Y el mayordomo, y el presidente de la ciudad, y los ancianos, y los ayos, enviaron á decir á Jehú: Siervos tuyos somos, y haremos todo lo que nos mandares: no elegiremos por rey á ninguno; tú harás lo que bien te pareciere.

And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”

Ed egli scrisse loro un'altra lettera, in cui diceva: Se voi siete miei, e ubbidite a me, prendete le teste de' figliuoli del signor vostro, e venite a trovarmi domane a quest'ora stessa in Jezrael. Or i figliuoli del re in numero di settanta erano allevati nelle case de' magnati della città.

El entonces les escribió la segunda vez, diciendo: Si sois míos, y queréis obedecerme, tomad las cabezas de los varones hijos de vuestro señor, y venid mañana á estas horas á mí á Jezreel. Y los hijos del rey, setenta varones, estaban con los principales de la ciudad, que los criaban.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, “If you are on my side, and if you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men who are your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time.” Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.

E ricevuta che ebbero questi la lettera, presero i settanta uomini figliuoli del re, e gli uccisero, e posero le loro teste in cestini, e le mandarono a lui in Jezrael.

Y como las letras llegaron á ellos, tomaron á los hijos del rey, y degollaron setenta varones, y pusieron sus cabezas en canastillos, y enviáronselas á Jezreel.

And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.

E arrivò un messo, e portogli tal nuova, dicendo: Hanno portate le teste de' figliuoli del re. Ed ei rispose: Mettetele in due mucchi vicino all'entrar della porta per fino a domattina.

Y vino un mensajero que le dió las nuevas, diciendo: Traído han las cabezas de los hijos del rey. Y él le dijo: Ponedlas en dos montones á la entrada de la puerta hasta la mañana.

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.

A messenger came and told him, “They have brought the heads of the king’s sons.” He said, “Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.”

E fattosi giorno, egli uscì fuora, e fermatosi disse a tutto il popolo: Voi siete giusti: se io congiurai contro il signor mio, e lo uccisi, chi ha uccisi costoro?

Venida la mañana, salió él, y estando en pie dijo á todo el pueblo: Vosotros sois justos: he aquí yo he conspirado contra mi señor, y lo he muerto: ¿mas quién ha muerto á todos estos?

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

In the morning, he went out and stood, and said to all the people, “You are righteous. Behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?

Adesso adunque riflettete, come non è caduta per terra una parola di quello, che il Signore disse intorno alla casa di Achab, e come il Signore ha fatto quello, che predisse per mezzo di Elia suo servo.

Sabed ahora que de la palabra de Jehová que habló sobre la casa de Achâb, nada caerá en tierra: y que Jehová ha hecho lo que dijo por su siervo Elías.

Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

Know now that nothing will fall to the earth of the LORD’s word, which the LORD spoke concerning Ahab’s house. For the LORD has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.”

Jehu allora fece morire tutti quelli della famiglia di Achab, che restavano in Jezrael, e tutti i suoi grandi, e i famigliari, e i sacerdoti fino che ne restò anima.

Mató entonces Jehú á todos los que habían quedado de la casa de Achâb en Jezreel, y á todos sus príncipes, y á todos sus familiares, y á sus sacerdotes, que no le quedó ninguno.

So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

So Jehu struck all that remained of Ahab’s house in Jezreel, with all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him no one remaining.

E parti, e andò a Samaria: e arrivato che fu ad una capanna di pastori, che era sulla strada,

Y levantóse de allí, y vino á Samaria; y llegando él en el camino á una casa de esquileo de pastores,

And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,

s'imbattè ne' fratelli di Ochozia re di Giuda, e disse loro: Chi siete voi? Ed ei risposero: Siam fratelli di Ochozia, e siamo venuti a salutare i figliuoli del re, e i figliuoli della regina.

Halló allí á los hermanos de Ochôzías rey de Judá, y díjoles: ¿Quién sois vosotros? Y ellos dijeron: Somos hermanos de Ochôzías, y hemos venido á saludar á los hijos del rey, y á los hijos de la reina.

Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

Jehu met with the brothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, “Who are you?” They answered, “We are the brothers of Ahaziah. We are going down to greet the children of the king and the children of the queen.”

E Jehu diede quest'ordine: Prendeteli vivi. E quando furono presi vivi, gli scannarono sulla cisterna, che era presso alla capanna, in numero di quarantadue persone: e non ne lasciò in vita nissuno.

Entonces él dijo: Prendedlos vivos. Y después que los tomaron vivos, degolláronlos junto al pozo de la casa de esquileo, cuarenta y dos varones, sin dejar ninguno de ellos.

And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.

He said, “Take them alive!” They took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty-two men. He didn’t leave any of them.

E partitosi da quel luogo incontrò Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab, che venivagli incontro, e lo salutò, e gli disse: Il tuo cuore è egli retto verso di me, come il mio verso di te? E Jonadab disse: Così è. Se è così, Diss'egli, dammi la mano. E quegli porse a lui la mano. Ed ei lo fece salir nel suo cocchio:

Partiéndose luego de allí encontróse con Jonadab hijo de Rechâb; y después que lo hubo saludado, díjole: ¿Es recto tu corazón, como el mío es recto con el tuyo? Y Jonadab dijo: Lo es. Pues que lo es, dame la mano. Y él le dió su mano. Hízolo luego subir consigo en el carro.

And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

When he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him. He greeted him, and said to him, “Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?” Jehonadab answered, “It is.” “If it is, give me your hand.” He gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

E disse a lui: Vieni meco, e vedrai lo zelo, che io ho pel Signore. E fattolo salir sul suo cocchio,

Y díjole: Ven conmigo, y verás mi celo por Jehová. Pusiéronlo pues en su carro.

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

He said, “Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD.” So they made him ride in his chariot.

Lo condusse in Samaria. E fece uccidere in Samaria que', che resta vano della casa di Achab tutti fino ad uno, secondo la parola pronunziata dal Signore per mezzo di Elia.

Y luego que hubo Jehú llegado á Samaria, mató á todos los que habían quedado de Achâb en Samaria, hasta extirparlos, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había hablado por Elías.

And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.

When he came to Samaria, he struck all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed them, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke to Elijah.

Allora Jehu radunò tutto il popolo, e disse loro: Achab rendette un po' di culto a Baal; ma io gli ne renderò di più.

Y juntó Jehú todo el pueblo, y díjoles: Achâb sirvió poco á Baal; mas Jehú lo servirá mucho.

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, “Ahab served Baal a little, but Jehu will serve him much.

Or adunque convocate dinanzi a me tutti i profeti di Baal, e tutti i servi, e i sacerdoti di lui: nissuno manchi di venire; perocché io fo un sacrifizio grande a Baal: chi non verrà, non viverà. Ma Jehu faceva questo con frode, per isterminare gli adoratori di Baal.

Llamadme pues luego á todos los profetas de Baal, á todos sus siervos, y á todos sus sacerdotes; que no falte uno, porque tengo un gran sacrifico para Baal; cualquiera que faltare, no vivirá. Esto hacía Jehú con astucia, para destruir á los que honraban á Baal.

Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshipers, and all of his priests. Let no one be absent, for I have a great sacrifice to Baal. Whoever is absent, he shall not live.” But Jehu did deceptively, intending to destroy the worshipers of Baal.

Ed egli disse: Si santifichi il di solenne di Baal. E mandò a far l'invito per tutte le regioni d'Israele:

Y dijo Jehú: Santificad un día solemne á Baal. Y ellos convocaron.

And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.

Jehu said, “Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal!” So they proclaimed it.

E vennero tutti i servi di Baal e neppur uno vi fu, che mancasse dì venire: ed entraron nel tempio di Baal, e la casa di Baal ne fu ripiena da un lato all'altro.

Y envió Jehú por todo Israel, y vinieron todos los siervos de Baal, que no faltó ninguno que no viniese. Y entraron en el templo de Baal, y el templo de Baal se llenó de cabo á cabo.

And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.

E disse a quelli, che avean in custodia le vestimenta: Mettete fuori le vesti per tutti i servi di Baal. E quelli le miser fuora.

Entonces dijo al que tenía el cargo de las vestiduras: Saca vestiduras para todos lo siervos de Baal. Y él les sacó vestimentas.

And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

He said to him who kept the wardrobe, “Bring out robes for all the worshipers of Baal!” So he brought robes out to them.

E Jehu essendo entrato nel tempio di Baal con Jonadab figliuolo di Rechab, disse agli adoratori di Baal: Fate diligenza, e badate, che nissun sia tra voi de' servi del Signore, ma ci siano soli i servi di Baal.

Y entró Jehú con Jonadab hijo de Rechâb en el templo de Baal, y dijo á los siervos de Baal: Mirad y ved que por dicha no haya aquí entre vosotros alguno de los siervos de Jehová, sino solos los siervos de Baal.

And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

Jehu went with Jehonadab the son of Rechab into the house of Baal. Then he said to the worshipers of Baal, “Search, and see that none of the servants of the LORD are here with you, but only the worshipers of Baal.”

Quelli pertanto entrarono per offerir le vittime, e gli olocausti: ma Jehu teneva pronti al di fuori ottanta uomini, a' quali avea detto: Se uno lascerà fuggire chicchessia di questi uomini, i quali io do in vostro potere, egli pagherà colla sua vita la vita di quello.

Y como ellos entraron para hacer sacrificios y holocaustos, Jehú puso fuera ochenta hombres, y díjoles: Cualquiera que dejare vivo alguno de aquellos hombres que yo he puesto en vuestras manos, su vida será por la del otro.

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

So they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had appointed for himself eighty men outside, and said, “If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, he who lets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.”

Finito adunque che fu l'olocausto, Jehu diede l'ordine a' suoi soldati, ed ai capitani: Entrate dentro, e uccidete coloro, e nissuno abbia scampo. E i soldati, e i capitani li trucidarono, e gli stesero al suolo: e andarono alla città del tempio di Baal,

Y después que acabaron ellos de hacer el holocausto, Jehú dijo á los de su guardia y á los capitanes: Entrad, y matadlos; que no escape ninguno. Y los hirieron á cuchillo: y dejáronlos tendidos los de la guardia y los capitanes, y fueron hasta la ciudad del templo de Baal.

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, “Go in and kill them! Let no one escape.” So they struck them with the edge of the sword. The guard and the captains threw the bodies out, and went to the inner shrine of the house of Baal.

E portaron fuora del tempio la statua di Baal, e la bruciarono, e la ridussero in cenere,

Y sacaron las estatuas de la casa de Baal, y quemáronlas.

And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

They brought out the pillars that were in the house of Baal and burned them.

E distrussero anche il tempio di Baal, e vi fecero delle latrine, che vi son anche oggidì.

Y quebraron la estatua de Baal, y derribaron la casa de Baal, é hiciéronla necesaria, hasta hoy.

And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

They broke down the pillar of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a latrine, to this day.

Così Jehu sterminò Baal dal paese d'Israele:

Así extinguió Jehú á Baal de Israel.

Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

Egli però non si allontanò dai peccati di Jeroboam figliuolo di Nabath, il quale indusse Israele a peccare; e non abbandonò i vitelli d'oro, che erano a Bethel, e a Dan.

Con todo eso Jehú no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar á Israel; á saber, de en pos de los becerros de oro que estaban en Beth-el y en Dan.

Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Beth-el, and that were in Dan.

However, Jehu didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin—the golden calves that were in Bethel and that were in Dan.

Or il Signore disse a Jehu: Perchè tu hai fatto puntualmente quello, che era giusto, e secondo il mio beneplacito, e hai eseguito quello, che io avea risoluto contro la casa di Achab, i tuoi figliuoli sederanno fino alla quarta generazione sul trono d'Israele.

Y Jehová dijo á Jehú: Por cuanto has hecho bien ejecutando lo recto delante de mis ojos, é hiciste á la casa de Achâb conforme á todo lo que estaba en mi corazón, tus hijos se sentarán sobre el trono de Israel hasta la cuarta generación.

And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

The LORD said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in executing that which is right in my eyes, and have done to Ahab’s house according to all that was in my heart, your descendants shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

Ma Jehu non ebbe premura di camminare con tutto il cuor suo nella legge del Signore Dio d'Israele; perocché non si dilungò dai peccati di Geroboam, il quale avea indotto Israele a peccare.

Mas Jehú no cuidó de andar en la ley de Jehová Dios de Israel con todo su corazón, ni se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam, el que había hecho pecar á Israel.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin.

In quel tempo il Signore cominciò a prendere in aversione Israele; e Hazaele li trucidava da ogni parte de' confini d'Israele.

En aquellos días comenzó Jehová á talar en Israel: é hiriólos Hazael en todos los términos de Israel,

In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

In those days the LORD began to cut away parts of Israel; and Hazael struck them in all the borders of Israel

Di là dal Giordano a levante (egli devastò) tutta la terra di Galaad, e di Gad, e di Ruben, e di Manasse, da Aroer, che è sul torrente Arnon, e Galaad, e Basan.

Desde el Jordán al nacimiento del sol, toda la tierra de Galaad, de Gad, de Rubén, y de Manasés, desde Aroer que está junto al arroyo de Arnón, á Galaad y á Basán.

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

Il rimanente poi delle azioni di Jehu, e tutto quello, ch'egli operò, e com'ei fu valoroso, tutte queste cose non son elleno scritte nel giornale de' fatti dei re d'Israele?

Lo demás de los hechos de Jehú, y todas las cosas que hizo, y toda su valentía, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

E Jehu si addormentò co' padri suoi, e lo seppellirono in Samaria, e Joachaz suo figliuolo gli succedette nel regno.

Y durmió Jehú con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en Samaria: y reinó en su lugar Joachâz su hijo.

And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

E il tempo, che Jehu regnò sopra Israele in Samaria, fu di anni ventotto. Athaliu, udita la morte del figliuolo, mette a fil di spada tutta la stirpe reale, eccetto Gioas, e usurpa il regno; ma e uccisa per ordine del Sacerdote Joiuda, e Gioas è fatto re: distruzione degli altari, e delle immagini di Baal.

El tiempo que reinó Jehú sobre Israel en Samaria, fué veintiocho años.

And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.
