Me he propuesto no volver a visitaros con tristeza.
ESTO pues determiné para conmigo, no venir otra vez á vosotros con tristeza.
But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
But I determined this for myself, that I would not come to you again in sorrow.
Porque si yo os contristo ¿quién será entonces el que me alegre a mí, sino aquel a quien yo contristé?
Porque si yo os contristo, ¿quién será luego el que me alegrará, sino aquel á quien yo contristare?
For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
For if I make you grieve, then who will make me glad but he who is made to grieve by me?
Esto mismo os escribo para no tener, en mi llegada, tristeza por parte de aquellos que debieran serme motivo de gozo, y con la confianza puesta en todos vosotros, de que todos tenéis por vuestro el gozo mío.
Y esto mismo os escribí, porque cuando llegare no tenga tristeza sobre tristeza de los que me debiera gozar; confiando en vosotros todos que mi gozo es el de todos vosotros.
And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came, I wouldn’t have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all that my joy would be shared by all of you.
Porque os escribo en medio de una gran aflicción y angustia de corazón, con muchas lágrimas, no para que os contristéis, sino para que conozcáis el amor sobreabundante que tengo por vosotros.
Porque por la mucha tribulación y angustia del corazón os escribí con muchas lágrimas; no para que fueseis contristados, mas para que supieseis cuánto más amor tengo para con vosotros.
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

Si alguno ha causado tristeza, no me la ha causado a mí, sino en cierta manera —para no cargar la mano— a todos vosotros.
Que si alguno me contristó, no me contristó á mí, sino en parte, por no cargaros, á todos vosotros.
But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow not to me, but in part (that I not press too heavily) to you all.
Bástele al tal esta corrección aplicada por tantos.
Bástale al tal esta reprensión hecha de muchos;
Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
This punishment which was inflicted by the many is sufficient for such a one;
Más bien debéis, pues, al contrario, perdonarlo y consolarlo, no sea que este tal se consuma en excesiva tristeza.
Así que, al contrario, vosotros más bien lo perdonéis y consoléis, porque no sea el tal consumido de demasiada tristeza.
So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Por lo cual os exhorto que le confirméis vuestra caridad.

Pues por esto escribo, a fin de tener de vosotros la prueba de que en todo sois obedientes.

para que no nos saque ventaja Satanás, pues bien conocemos sus maquinaciones.
Porque no seamos engañados de Satanás: pues no ignoramos sus maquinaciones.
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

porque somos para Dios buen olor de Cristo, entre los que se salvan, y entre los que se pierden;

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God in those who are being saved and in those who perish:
a los unos, olor de muerte para muerte; y a los otros, olor de vida para vida.
A éstos ciertamente olor de muerte para muerte; y á aquéllos olor de vida para vida. Y para estas cosas ¿quién es suficiente?
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
Y para semejante ministerio ¿quién puede creerse capaz? Pues no somos como muchísimos que prostituyen la Palabra de Dios; sino que con ánimo sincero, como de parte de Dios y en presencia de Dios, hablamos en Cristo.
Porque no somos como muchos, mercaderes falsos de la palabra de Dios: antes con sinceridad, como de Dios, delante de Dios, hablamos en Cristo.
For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
