1Als aber die Königin von Saba das Gerücht von Salomo vernahm, da kam sie, um Salomo mit Rätseln zu versuchen, mit einem sehr großen Gefolge, sowie, mit Kamelen, die Spezereien und eine Menge Goldes und Edelsteine trugen, nach Jerusalem. Als sie nun zu Salomo hineinkam, redete sie mit ihm von allem, was sie sich vorgenommen hatte.
2Salomo aber hatte Antwort auf alle ihre Fragen; nichts blieb Salomo verborgen, daß er ihr die Antwort darauf schuldig geblieben wäre.
3Als aber die Königin von Saba die Weisheit Salomos wahrnahm und den Palast, den er erbaut hatte,
4und die Speisen für seinen Tisch, die Wohnungen seiner Beamten und das Aufwarten seiner Diener und ihre Gewänder und seine Mundschenken und ihre Gewänder und seine Brandopfer, die er im Tempel Jahwes darzubringen pflegte, da geriet sie ganz außer sich,
5und sprach zum Könige: volle Wahrheit ist es, was ich in meinem Lande von deinen Angelegenheiten und von deiner Weisheit vernommen habe!
6Ich habe ihre Erzählungen nicht glauben wollen, bis ich gekommen bin und es mit eigenen Augen gesehen habe. Und dabei ist mir noch nicht einmal die Hälfte von der Fülle deiner Weisheit berichtet worden; du übertriffst noch das Gerücht, das ich vernommen habe.
7Glückselig deine Frauen und glückselig diese deine Diener, die allezeit dienend vor dir stehen und deine Weisheit hören!
8Es sei Jahwe, dein Gott, gepriesen, der an dir Wohlgefallen hatte, daß er dich auf den Thron setzte als einen König Jahwes, deines Gottes; weil dein Gott Israel lieb hat, daß er ihm für immer Beistand verleihen will, darum hat er dich zum König über sie gesetzt, daß du Recht und Gerechtigkeit übest!
9Und sie schenkte dem Könige 120 Talente Goldes und eine sehr große Menge Spezereien und Edelsteine; nie hat es wieder so viele Spezereien gegeben, als die Königin von Saba dem König Salomo schenkte.
10Aber auch die Leute Hurams und die Leute Salomos, die Gold aus Ophir geholt hatten, brachten Sandelholz und Edelsteine mit.
11Und der König ließ von dem Sandelholz Lehnen sowohl für den Tempel als für den königlichen Palast anfertigen, sowie Zithern und Harfen für die Sänger; dergleichen war vorher nicht im Lande Juda zu sehen gewesen.
12Und der König Salomo gab der Königin von Saba alles, was sie wünschte und begehrte, außer dem, was sie zum Könige gebracht hatte. Hierauf machte sie sich auf den Heimweg und zog samt ihren Dienern wieder in ihr Land.
13Und das Gewicht des Goldes, das für Salomo in einem Jahr einkam, betrug 666 Goldtalente,
14abgesehen von dem, was einkam von den Karawanen und dem, was die Händler brachten; dazu brachten auch alle Könige Arabiens und die Statthalter des Landes Salomo Gold und Silber.
15Und der König Salomo ließ zweihundert große Schilde von geschlagenem Gold anfertigen: sechshundert Sekel geschlagenen Goldes verwendete er auf jeden Schild;
16dazu dreihundert Tartschen von geschlagenem Golde: dreihunder Sekel Goldes verwendete er auf jede Tartsche. Und der König that sie ins Libanonwaldhaus.
17Ferner ließ der König einen großen elfenbeinernen Thron anfertigen und überzog ihn mit gediegenem Golde.
18Sechs Stufen hatte der Thron, und eine vergoldete Fußbank war am Throne befestigt. Und am Sitzplatze waren auf beiden Seiten Armlehnen, und neben den Lehnen standen zwei Löwen.
19Zwölf Löwen aber standen auf den sechs Stufen zu beiden Seiten. Derartiges ist nie für irgend ein Königreich angefertigt worden.
20Und alle Trinkgefäße des Königs Salomo waren von Gold, und alle Geräte des Libanonwaldhauses waren von feinem Golde, nichts von Silber, denn das Silber wurde zu den Zeiten Salomos für gar nichts geachtet.
21Denn der König hatte Schiffe, die mit den Leuten Hurams nach Tarsis fuhren; aller drei Jahre einmal kamen die Tarsisschiffe und brachten Gold, Silber, Elfenbein, Affen und Pfauen.
22Und der König Salomo übertraf alle Könige der Erde an Reichtum und Weisheit.
23Und alle Könige der Erde begehrten, Salomo zu sehen, um die Aussprüche seiner Weisheit zu hören, die ihm Gott ins Herz gegeben hatte.
24Dabei brachten sie ein jeder sein Geschenk, silberne und goldene Geräte, Gewänder, Waffen und Spezereien, Rosse und Maultiere - ein Jahr wie das andere.
25Und Salomo besaß 4000 Gespanne Rosse und Wagen und zwölftausend Reiter; die legte er in die Wagenstädte und in die Umgebung des Königs zu Jerusalem.
26Und er war Herrscher über alle Könige vom Euphratstrom an bis zum Lande der Philister und bis zur Grenze Ägyptens.
27Und der König machte, daß das Silber zu Jerusalem an Menge den Steinen gleichkam, und die Cedern den Maulbeerfeigenbäumen, die in der Niederung wachsen.
28Und man führte für Salomo Rosse aus Ägypten und aus allen Ländern aus.
29Die übrige Geschichte Salomos aber, die frühere wie die spätere, findet sich ja aufgezeichnet in der Geschichte des Propheten Nathan und in der Weissagung Ahias von Silo und in der Offenbarung Jedos, des Sehers, an Jerobeam, den Sohn Nebats.
30Es herrschte aber Salomo zu Jerusalem vierzig Jahre als König über ganz Israel.
31Alsdann legte sich Salomo zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids, seines Vaters. Und sein Sohn Rehabeam ward König an seiner Statt.

1Y OYENDO la reina de Seba la fama de Salomón, vino á Jerusalem con un muy grande séquito, con camellos cargados de aroma, y oro en abundancia, y piedras preciosas, para tentar á Salomón con preguntas difíciles. Y luego que vino á Salomón, habló con él todo lo que en su corazón tenía.
2Pero Salomón le declaró todas sus palabras: ninguna cosa quedó que Salomón no le declarase.
3Y viendo la reina de Seba la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,
4Y las viandas de su mesa, y el asiento de sus siervos, y el estado de sus criados, y los vestidos de ellos, sus maestresalas y sus vestidos, y su subida por donde subía á la casa de Jehová, no quedó más espíritu en ella.
5Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que había oído en mi tierra de tus cosas y de tu sabiduría;
6Mas yo no creía las palabras de ellos, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto: y he aquí que ni aun la mitad de la grandeza de tu sabiduría me había sido dicha; porque tú sobrepujas la fama que yo había oído.
7Bienaventurados tus hombres, y dichosos estos tus siervos, que están siempre delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría.
8Jehová tu Dios sea bendito, el cual se ha agradado en ti para ponerte sobre su trono por rey de Jehová tu Dios: por cuanto tu Dios amó á Israel para afirmarlo perpetuamente, por eso te ha puesto por rey sobre ellos, para que hagas juicio y justicia.
9Y dió al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro, y gran copia de aromas, y piedras preciosas: nunca hubo tales aromas como los que dió la reina de Seba al rey Salomón.
10También los siervos de Hiram y los siervos de Salomón, que habían traído el oro de Ophir, trajeron madera de Algummim, y piedras preciosas.
11E hizo el rey de la madera de Algummim gradas en la casa de Jehová, y en las casas reales, y arpas y salterios para los cantores: nunca en tierra de Judá se había visto madera semejante.
12Y el rey Salomón dió á la reina de Seba todo lo que ella quiso y le pidió, más de lo que había traído al rey. Después se volvió y fuése á su tierra con sus siervos.
13Y el peso de oro que venía á Salomón cada un año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,
14Sin lo que traían los mercaderes y negociantes; y también todos los reyes de Arabia y los príncipes de la tierra traían oro y plata á Salomón.
15Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro de martillo, cada uno de los cuales tenía seiscientos siclos de oro labrado:
16Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro batido, teniendo cada escudo trescientos siclos de oro: y púsolos el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.
17Hizo además el rey un gran trono de marfil, y cubriólo de oro puro.
18Y había seis gradas al trono, con un estrado de oro al mismo, y brazos de la una parte y de la otra al lugar del asiento, y dos leones que estaban junto á los brazos.
19Había también allí doce leones sobre las seis gradas de la una parte y de la otra. Jamás fué hecho otro semejante en reino alguno.
20Toda la vajilla del rey Salomón era de oro, y toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano, de oro puro. En los días de Salomón la plata no era de estima.
21Porque la flota del rey iba á Tharsis con los siervos de Hiram, y cada tres años solían venir las naves de Tharsis, y traían oro, plata, marfil, simios, y pavos.
22Y excedió el rey Salomón á todos los reyes de la tierra en riqueza y en sabiduría.
23Y todos los reyes de la tierra procuraban ver el rostro de Salomón, por oir su sabiduría, que Dios había puesto en su corazón:
24Y de éstos, cada uno traía su presente, vasos de plata, vasos de oro, vestidos, armas, aromas, caballos y acémilas, todos los años.
25Tuvo también Salomón cuatro mil caballerizas para los caballos y carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem.
26Y tuvo señorío sobre todos los reyes desde el río hasta la tierra de los Filisteos, y hasta el término de Egipto.
27Y puso el rey plata en Jerusalem como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahigos que nacen por las campiñas en abundancia.
28Sacaban también caballos para Salomón, de Egipto y de todas las provincias.
29Lo demás de los hechos de Salomón, primeros y postreros, ¿no está todo escrito en los libros de Nathán profeta, y en la profecía de Ahías Silonita, y en las profecías del vidente Iddo contra Jeroboam hijo de Nabat?
30Y reinó Salomón en Jerusalem sobre todo Israel cuarenta años.
31Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.

1And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
2And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.
3And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
5And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom:
6Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
7Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.
8Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.
9And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.
10And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.
11And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king’s palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
12And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.
13Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;
14Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one target.
16And three hundred shields made he of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
18And there were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and stays on each side of the sitting place, and two lions standing by the stays:
19And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.
20And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
21For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: every three years once came the ships of Tarshish bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.
24And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, harness, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
25And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
26And he reigned over all the kings from the river even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt.
27And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the low plains in abundance.
28And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
29Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
30And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
31And Solomon slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to test Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great caravan, including camels that bore spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones. When she had come to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was in her heart.
2Solomon answered all her questions. There wasn’t anything hidden from Solomon which he didn’t tell her.
3When the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,
4the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the attendance of his ministers, their clothing, his cup bearers and their clothing, and his ascent by which he went up to the LORD’s house, there was no more spirit in her.
5She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom.
6However I didn’t believe their words until I came, and my eyes had seen it; and behold half of the greatness of your wisdom wasn’t told me. You exceed the fame that I heard!
7Happy are your men, and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom.
8Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you and set you on his throne to be king for the LORD your God, because your God loved Israel, to establish them forever. Therefore he made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness.”
9She gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great abundance, and precious stones. There was never before such spice as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
10The servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, also brought algum trees and precious stones.
11The king used algum tree wood to make terraces for the LORD’s house and for the king’s house, and harps and stringed instruments for the singers. There were none like these seen before in the land of Judah.
12King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, more than that which she had brought to the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.
13Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
14in addition to that which the traders and merchants brought. All the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold. Six hundred shekels of beaten gold went to one large shield.
16He made three hundred shields of beaten gold. Three hundred shekels of gold went to one shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
17Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.
18There were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne, and armrests on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.
19Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps. There was nothing like it made in any other kingdom.
20All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. Silver was not considered valuable in the days of Solomon.
21For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with Huram’s servants. Once every three years, the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.
22So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23All the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24They each brought tribute: vessels of silver, vessels of gold, clothing, armor, spices, horses, and mules every year.
25Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen that he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
