1O povo da terra tomou Jeoacaz, filho de Josias, e o fez rei em Jerusalém, no lugar de seu pai.
2Jeoacaz começou a reinar em Jerusalém quando tinha vinte três anos de idade. Reinou apenas três meses,
3porque o rei do Egito o removeu de Jerusalém e impôs ao povo um tributo de cem talentos de prata e um talento de ouro.
4E o rei do Egito deu a Eliaquim, irmão de Jeoacaz, o reinado sobre Judá e Jerusalém além de mudar seu nome para Jeoaquim. Quanto a Jeoacaz, Neco o prendeu e o levou para o Egito.
5Jeoaquim começou a reinar quando tinha vinte e cinco anos e reinou durante onze anos em Jerusalém. Ele praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh, seu Deus.
6Então, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, o atacou e o prendeu em correntes, a fim de levá-lo para a Babilônia.
7Nabucodonosor também carregou alguns objetos do templo de Yahweh para a Babilônia e os colocou em seu palácio.
8Os demais assuntos relacionados a Jeoaquim, as coisas abomináveis que ele praticou e o que mais lhe aconteceu estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e Judá. Então, Joaquim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
9Joaquim, quando começou a reinar, tinha oito anos de idade; reinou durante três meses e dez dias em Jerusalém. Ele praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh.
10Na primavera, o rei Nabucodonosor enviou homens e o trouxe para Babilônia, com os utensílios valiosos do templo de Yahweh; o rei da Babilônia constituiu Zedequias para substituir seu irmão Joaquim como rei sobre Judá e Jerusalém.
11Zedequias, quando começou a reinar, tinha vinte e um anos de idade. Reinou por onze anos em Jerusalém.
12Ele praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh, seu Deus. Não se humilhou diante de Jeremias, o profeta, que falou palavras enviadas pela boca de Yahweh.
13Zedequias também rebelou-se contra Nabucodonosor, que o tinha feito jurar lealdade perante Deus. Com o coração obstinado e endurecido, Zedequias não se converteu a Yahweh, o Deus de Israel.
14Além disso, as transgressões de todos os líderes dos sacerdotes e do povo aumentavam mais e mais, pois imitavam as práticas repugnantes das nações pagãs. Eles contaminaram o templo de Yahweh, que Ele tinha santificado para Si, em Jerusalém.
15Yahweh, o Deus de seus pais, falou-lhes repetidas vezes, insistindo em adverti-los por meio de Seus mensageiros, porque Ele tinha compaixão do Seu povo e do lugar da Sua habitação.
16Porém, eles zombaram dos mensageiros de Deus, desprezaram Suas palavras e ridicularizavam Seus profetas, provocando a ira de Yahweh, que se inflamou contra Seu povo, até que não houvesse mais remédio.
17Por isso, Deus trouxe sobre eles o rei dos caldeus, que matou os seus jovens à espada no santuário e não poupou jovens, nem virgens, nem homens velhos, nem homens com cabelos grisalhos. Deus os entregou a todos nas mãos dele.
18Ele levou para a Babilônia todos os utensílios grandes e pequenos do templo de Deus, os tesouros da habitação de Yahweh e os tesouros do rei e seus oficiais.
19Eles incendiaram o templo de Deus, destruíram os muros de Jerusalém, queimaram todos os palácios e destruíram todas as coisas belas que havia ali.
20O rei levou para a Babilônia todos aqueles que escaparam da espada. Foram feitos escravos do rei e de seus filhos até o tempo do reino da Pérsia.
21Isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse a palavra de Yahweh pela boca de Jeremias: "até que a terra receba compensação por seus sábados, durante todo o tempo em que ela repousar, até que se cumpram os setenta anos".
22No primeiro ano de Ciro, o rei da Pérsia, cumpriu-se a palavra de Yahweh dita pela boca de Jeremias. Yahweh despertou o espírito de Ciro, o rei da Pérsia, e este mandou proclamar por todo o seu reino — e o fez também por escrito — o seguinte decreto:
23"Isto é o que Ciro, o rei da Pérsia, diz: 'Yahweh, o rei dos céus, entregou-me todos os reinos da terra. Ele me encarregou de construir uma templo para Si em Jerusalém, que fica em Judá. Quem dentre vós pertence ao Seu povo fique livre para ir, e que Yahweh, vosso Deus, esteja convosco'".

1ENTONCES el pueblo de la tierra tomó á Joachâz hijo de Josías, é hiciéronle rey en lugar de su padre en Jerusalem.
2De veinte y tres años era Joachâz cuando comenzó á reinar, y tres meses reinó en Jerusalem.
3Y el rey de Egipto lo quitó de Jerusalem, y condenó la tierra en cien talentos de plata y uno de oro.
4Y constituyó el rey de Egipto á su hermano Eliacim por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem, y mudóle el nombre en Joacim; y á Joachâz su hermano tomó Nechâo, y llevólo á Egipto.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar Joacim era de veinte y cinco años, y reinó once años en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios.
6Y subió contra él Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y atado con cadenas lo llevó á Babilonia.
7También llevó Nabucodonosor á Babilonia de los vasos de la casa de Jehová, y púsolos en su templo en Babilonia.
8Lo demás de los hechos de Joacim, y las abominaciones que hizo, y lo que en él se halló, he aquí está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá: y reinó en su lugar Joachîn su hijo.
9De ocho años era Joachîn cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalem: é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
10A la vuelta del año el rey Nabucodonosor envió, é hízolo llevar á Babilonia juntamente con los vasos preciosos de la casa de Jehová; y constituyó á Sedecías su hermano por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalem.
11De veinte y un años era Sedecías cuando comenzó á reinar, y once años reinó en Jerusalem.
12E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová su Dios, y no se humilló delante de Jeremías profeta, que le hablaba de parte de Jehová.
13Rebelóse asimismo contra Nabucodonosor, al cual había jurado por Dios; y endureció su cerviz, y obstinó su corazón, para no volverse á Jehová el Dios de Israel.
14Y también todos los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y el pueblo, aumentaron la prevaricación, siguiendo todas las abominaciones de las gentes, y contaminando la casa de Jehová, la cual él había santificado en Jerusalem.
15Y Jehová el Dios de sus padres envió á ellos por mano de sus mensajeros, levantándose de mañana y enviando: porque él tenía misericordia de su pueblo, y de su habitación.
16Mas ellos hacían escarnio de los mensajeros de Dios, y menospreciaban sus palabras, burlándose de sus profetas, hasta que subió el furor de Jehová contra su pueblo, y que no hubo remedio.
17Por lo cual trajo contra ellos al rey de los Caldeos, que mató á cuchillo sus mancebos en la casa de su santuario, sin perdonar joven, ni doncella, ni viejo, ni decrépito; todos los entregó en sus manos.
18Asimismo todos los vasos de la casa de Dios, grandes y chicos, los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros del rey y de sus príncipes, todo lo llevó á Babilonia.
19Y quemaron la casa de Dios, y rompieron el muro de Jerusalem, y consumieron al fuego todos sus palacios, y destruyeron todos sus vasos deseables.
20Los que quedaron del cuchillo, pasáronlos á Babilonia; y fueron siervos de él y de sus hijos, hasta que vino el reino de los Persas;
21Para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por la boca de Jeremías, hasta que la tierra hubo gozado sus sábados: porque todo el tiempo de su asolamiento reposó, hasta que los setenta años fueron cumplidos.
22Mas al primer año de Ciro rey de los Persas, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová por boca de Jeremías, Jehová excitó el espíritu de Ciro rey de los Persas, el cual hizo pasar pregón por todo su reino, y también por escrito, diciendo:
23Así dice Ciro rey de los Persas: Jehová, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra; y él me ha encargado que le edifique casa en Jerusalem, que es en Judá. ¿Quién de vosotros hay de todo su pueblo? Jehová su Dios sea con él, y suba.

1Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
2Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.
6Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
10And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
12And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
13And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.
14Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

23“Cyrus king of Persia says, ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given all the kingdoms of the earth to me; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all his people, the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.’”
