1Et Josias fit à Jérusalem une Pâque à l'Éternel, et on immola la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois.
2Et il établit les Prêtres dans leurs fonctions et les encouragea pour le service du Temple de l'Éternel.
3Et il dit aux Lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël, étant consacrés à l'Éternel : Placez l'Arche sainte dans le Temple bâti par Salomon, fils de David, roi d'Israël ; vous n'avez plus à en charger votre épaule. Maintenant servez l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et son peuple d'Israël,
4et tenez-vous prêts, par maison patriarcale et par classe, suivant le rescrit de David, roi d'Israël, et suivant le rescrit de Salomon, son fils.
5Et tenez-vous dans le Sanctuaire selon les sections des maisons patriarcales de vos frères, des fils du peuple, et selon la classification de la maison patriarcale des Lévites ;
6et immolez la Pâque et mettez-vous dans l'état de sainteté, et préparez-la à vos frères pour vous conformer à la parole de l'Éternel prononcée par l'organe de Moïse.
7Et Josias fit pour les enfants du peuple un don d'agneaux et de chevreaux (le tout pour victimes pascales pour tous ceux qui étaient présents) au nombre de trente mille et de trois mille taureaux, le tout pris dans la propriété du roi.
8Et les princes firent un don spontané au peuple, aux Prêtres et aux Lévites. Hilkia et Zacharie et Jehiel, primiciers de la Maison de Dieu, donnèrent au peuple pour victimes pascales deux mille six cents agneaux et trois cents bœufs.
9Et Chanania et Semaïa et Nethaneël, ses frères et Hasabia et Jehiel et Jozabad, chefs des Lévites, firent aux Lévites pour victimes pascales un don de cinq mille agneaux et de cinq cents bœufs.
10Ainsi fut organisé le service, et les Prêtres se placèrent à leur poste, et les Lévites d'après leurs classes, suivant l'ordre du roi.
11Et les Lévites immolèrent la Pâque et les Prêtres firent l'aspersion avec le sang reçu de leurs mains, et les Lévites dépouillèrent.
12Et ils mirent à part les holocaustes pour les distribuer aux sections des maisons patriarcales des enfants du peuple pour les sacrifier à l'Éternel selon ce qui est écrit dans le livre de Moïse ; et de même quant aux taureaux.
13Et ils firent rôtir la Pâque au feu selon le rite, et les quartiers consacrés ils les firent cuire dans des marmites, des chaudières et des poêles, et de suite les distribuèrent à tous les enfants du peuple.
14Et ensuite ils apprêtèrent pour eux et les Prêtres, car les Prêtres, fils d'Aaron, assistèrent au sacrifice des holocaustes et des graisses jusque dans la nuit ; les Lévites apprêtèrent donc pour eux et les Prêtres, fils d'Aaron.
15Et les chantres, fils d'Asaph, étaient à leur poste selon l'ordre de David et d'Asaph et d'Heiman et de Jeduthun, Voyant du roi, et les portiers à chaque porte ; ils n'avaient pas à interrompre leur service, parce que leurs frères, les Lévites, apprêtaient pour eux.
16Ainsi fut organisé tout le service de l'Éternel en cette journée pour immoler la Pâque et offrir les holocaustes sur l'autel de l'Éternel, selon l'ordre du roi Josias.
17Et les enfants d'Israël, présents, célébrèrent la Pâque en ce temps-là et la fête des azymes pendant sept jours.
18Et il ne s'était pas célébré de Pâque pareille en Israël depuis l'époque de Samuel, le prophète, et de tous les rois d'Israël aucun n'avait célébré une Pâque pareille à la Pâque célébrée par Josias, et les Prêtres et les Lévites et tout Juda et Israël, présents, et les habitants de Jérusalem.
19Ce fut dans la dix-huitième année du règne de Josias que cette Pâque fut célébrée.
20Après tout cela, comme Josias avait mis en état le Temple, s'avança Nécho, roi d'Egypte, pour attaquer Charchemis sur l'Euphrate, et Josias marcha à sa rencontre.
21Et il envoya à celui-ci des messagers pour lui dire : Qu'ai-je à démêler avec toi, roi de Juda ? Ce n'est pas à toi que j'en veux, pas à toi aujourd'hui, mais c'est à une autre maison que je porte la guerre, et Dieu a dit que je dois me hâter. Ne t'attaque donc pas au Dieu qui est avec moi, de peur qu'il ne t'écrase.
22Mais Josias ne détourna point sa face de lui, au contraire, pour en venir aux mains avec lui, il se travestit, sans écouter les discours de Nécho, qui émanaient de la bouche de Dieu, et il se présenta au combat dans la vallée de Megiddo.
23Et les tireurs tirèrent sur le roi Josias, et le roi dit à ses serviteurs : Emmenez-moi, car je suis grièvement blessé.
24Et ses serviteurs l'enlevèrent de son char, et le transportèrent sur son second char et l'amenèrent à Jérusalem. Et il mourut, et il reçut la sépulture dans les tombeaux de ses pères, et tout Juda et Jérusalem célébrèrent le deuil de Josias.
25Et Jérémie composa une complainte sur Josias. Et tous les chantres et toutes les chanteresses ont fait mention de Josias dans leurs complaintes jusqu'aujourd'hui, et en établirent la coutume en Israël ; elles sont d'ailleurs transcrites dans Les Complaintes.
26Le reste des actes de Josias et ses actions pieuses conformes à ce qui est écrit dans la Loi de l'Éternel, et ses faits,
27les premiers et les derniers, sont d'ailleurs consignés dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda.

1Y JOSÍAS hizo pascua á Jehová en Jerusalem, y sacrificaron la pascua á los catorce del mes primero.
2Y puso á los sacerdotes en sus empleos, y confirmólos en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová.
3Y dijo á los Levitas que enseñaban á todo Israel, y que estaban dedicados á Jehová: Poned el arca del santuario en la casa que edificó Salomón hijo de David, rey de Israel, para que no la carguéis más sobre los hombros. Ahora serviréis á Jehová vuestro Dios, y á su pueblo Israel.
4Apercibíos según las familias de vuestros padres, por vuestros órdenes, conforme á la prescripción de David rey de Israel, y de Salomón su hijo.
5Estad en el santuario según la distribución de las familias de vuestros hermanos los hijos del pueblo, y según la división de la familia de los Levitas.
6Sacrificad luego la pascua: y después de santificaros, apercibid á vuestros hermanos, para que hagan conforme á la palabra de Jehová dada por mano de Moisés.
7Y ofreció el rey Josías á los del pueblo ovejas, corderos, y cabritos de los rebaños, en número de treinta mil, y tres mil bueyes, todo para la pascua, para todos los que se hallaron presentes: esto de la hacienda del rey.
8También sus príncipes ofrecieron con liberalidad al pueblo, y á los sacerdotes y Levitas. Hilcías, Zachârías y Jehiel, príncipes de la casa de Dios, dieron á los sacerdotes para hacer la pascua dos mil seiscientas ovejas, y trescientos bueyes.
9Asimismo Chônanías, y Semeías y Nathanael sus hermanos, y Hasabías, Jehiel, y Josabad, príncipes de los Levitas, dieron á los Levitas para los sacrificios de la pascua cinco mil ovejas, y quinientos bueyes.
10Aprestado así el servicio, los sacerdotes se colocaron en sus puestos, y asimismo los Levitas en sus órdenes, conforme al mandamiento del rey.
11Y sacrificaron la pascua; y esparcían los sacerdotes la sangre tomada de mano de los Levitas, y los Levitas desollaban.
12Tomaron luego del holocausto, para dar conforme á los repartimientos por las familias de los del pueblo, á fin de que ofreciesen á Jehová, según está escrito en el libro de Moisés: y asimismo tomaron de los bueyes.
13Y asaron la pascua al fuego según la costumbre: mas lo que había sido santificado lo cocieron en ollas, en calderos, y calderas, y repartiéronlo prestamente á todo el pueblo.
14Y después aderezaron para sí y para los sacerdotes; porque los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, estuvieron ocupados hasta la noche en el sacrificio de los holocaustos y de los sebos; por tanto, los Levitas aderezaron para sí, y para los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón.
15Asimismo los cantores hijos de Asaph estaban en su puesto, conforme al mandamiento de David, de Asaph y de Hemán, y de Jeduthún vidente del rey; también los porteros estaban á cada puerta; y no era menester que se apartasen de su ministerio, porque sus hermanos los Levitas aparejaban para ellos.
16Así fué aprestado todo el servicio de Jehová en aquel día, para hacer la pascua, y sacrificar los holocaustos sobre el altar de Jehová, conforme al mandamiento del rey Josías.
17Y los hijos de Israel que se hallaron allí, hicieron la pascua en aquel tiempo, y la solemnidad de los panes sin levadura, por siete días.
18Nunca tal pascua fué hecha en Israel desde los días de Samuel el profeta; ni ningún rey de Israel hizo pascua tal como la que hizo el rey Josías, y los sacerdotes y Levitas, y todo Judá é Israel, los que se hallaron allí, juntamente con los moradores de Jerusalem.
19Esta pascua fué celebrada en el año dieciocho del rey Josías.
20Después de todas estas cosas, luego de haber Josías preparado la casa, Nechâo rey de Egipto subió á hacer guerra en Carchêmis junto á Eufrates; y salió Josías contra él.
21Y él le envió embajadores, diciendo: ¿Qué tenemos yo y tú, rey de Judá? Yo no vengo contra ti hoy, sino contra la casa que me hace guerra: y Dios dijo que me apresurase. Déjate de meterte con Dios, que es conmigo, no te destruya.
22Mas Josías no volvió su rostro de él, antes disfrazóse para darle batalla, y no atendió á las palabras de Nechâo, que eran de boca de Dios; y vino á darle la batalla en el campo de Megiddo.
23Y los archeros tiraron al rey Josías flechas; y dijo el rey á sus siervos: Quitadme de aquí, porque estoy herido gravemente.
24Entonces sus siervos lo quitaron de aquel carro, y pusiéronle en otro segundo carro que tenía, y lleváronle á Jerusalem, y murió; y sepultáronle en los sepulcros de sus padres. Y todo Judá y Jerusalem hizo duelo por Josías.
25Y endechó Jeremías por Josías, y todos los cantores y cantoras recitan sus lamentaciones sobre Josías hasta hoy; y las dieron por norma para endechar en Israel, las cuales están escritas en las Lamentaciones.
26Lo demás de los hechos de Josías, y sus piadosas obras, conforme á lo que está escrito en la ley de Jehová,
27Y sus hechos, primeros y postreros, he aquí está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.

1Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,
3And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
4And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.
6So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
7And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance.
8And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.
9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king’s commandment.
11And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.
12And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
13And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
14And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
15And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
17And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
18And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.
20After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
21But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
22Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
23And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.
24His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
25And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.
26Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,
27And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

1Josiah kept a Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem. They killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2He set the priests in their offices and encouraged them in the service of the LORD’s house.
3He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to the LORD, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. It will no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God and his people Israel.
4Prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5Stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the children of the people, and let there be for each a portion of a fathers’ house of the Levites.
6Kill the Passover lamb, sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to the LORD’s word by Moses.”
7Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and young goats, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls. These were of the king’s substance.
