1And Josias kept a passover to the Lord his God; and sacrificed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2And he appointed the priests at their charges, and encouraged them for the services of the house of the Lord.
3And he told the Levites that were able to act in all Israel, that they should consecrate themselves to the Lord: and they put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built: and the king said, Ye must not carry anything on your shoulders: now then minister to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.
4And prepare yourselves according to the houses of your families, and according to your daily courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and the order by the hand of his son Solomon.
5And stand ye in the house according to the divisions of the houses of your families for your brethren the sons of the people; so also let there be for the Levites a division of the house of their family.
6And kill ye the passover, and prepare it for your brethren, to do according to the word of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.
7And Josias Or, began by giving gave as an offering to the children of the people, sheep, and lambs, and kids of the young of the goats, all for the passover, even for all that were found, in number amounting to thirty thousand, and three thousand calves, these were of the substance of the king.
8And his princes gave an offering to the people, and to the priests, and to the Levites: and Chelcias and Zacharias and Jeiel the chief men gave to the priests of the house of God, they even gave for the passover sheep, and lambs, and kids, two thousand six hundred, and three hundred calves.
9And Chonenias, and Banaeas, and Samaeas, and Nathanael his brother, and Asabias, and Jeiel, and Jozabad, heads of the Levites, gave an offering to the Levites for the passover, of five thousand sheep and five hundred calves.
10And the service was duly ordered, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their divisions, according to the command of the king.
11And they slew the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hand, and the Levites flayed the victims.
12And they prepared the whole-burnt-offering to give to them, according to the division by the houses of families, even to the sons of the people, to offer to the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses.
13And thus they did till the morning. And they roasted the passover with fire according to the Gr. judgement ordinance; and boiled the holy pieces in copper vessels and caldrons, and the feast went on well, and they Gr. ran to quickly served all the children of the people.
14And after they had prepared for themselves and for the priests, for the priests were engaged in offering the whole-burnt-offerings and the fat until night, then the Levites prepared for themselves, and for their brethren the sons of Aaron.
15And the sons of Asaph the psalm-singers were at their post according to the commands of David, and Asaph, and Æman, and Idithom, the prophets of the king: also, the chiefs and the porters of the several gates; —it was not for them to stir from the service of the holy things, for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16So all the service of the Lord was duly ordered and prepared in that day, Gr. of for keeping the passover, and offering the whole-burnt-sacrifices on the altar of the Lord, according to the command of king Josias.
17And the children of Israel that were Gr. found present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
18And there was no passover like it in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet, Gr. and every or any king of Israel: they kept not such a passover as Josias, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Juda and Israel that were present, and the dwellers in Jerusalem, kept to the Lord.
19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josias this passover was kept, after all these things that Josias did in the house. (35:19AA) And king Josias burnt Lit. ventriloquists those who had in them a divining spirit, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and the sodomites which were in the land of Juda and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law that were written in the book which Chelcias the priest found in the house of the Lord. (35:19BA) There was no king like him before him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, and all his soul, and all his strength, according to all the law of Moses, and after him there rose up none like him. (35:19CA) Nevertheless the Lord turned not from the anger of his fierce wrath, wherewith the Lord was greatly angry against Juda, for all the provocations wherewith Manasses provoked him: (35:19DA) and the Lord said, I will even remove Juda also from my presence, as I have removed Israel, and I have rejected the city which I chose, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.
20And Pharao Nechao king of Egypt went up against the king of the Assyrians to the river Euphrates, and king Josias went to meet him.
21And he sent messengers to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, O king of Juda? I am not come to-day to war against thee; and God has told me to hasten: beware of the God that is with me, lest he destroy thee.
22However, Josias turned not his face from him, but strengthened himself to fight against him, and hearkened not to the words of Nechao by the mouth of God, and he came to fight in the plain of Mageddo.
23And the archers shot at king Josias; and the king said to his servants, Take me away, for I am severely wounded.
24And his servants lifted him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot which he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried with his fathers: and all Juda and Jerusalem lamented over Josias.
25And Jeremias Or, framed a lamentation mourned over Josias, and all the chief men and chief women uttered a lamentation over Josias until this day: and they made it an ordinance for Israel, and, behold, it is written in the lamentations.
26And the rest of the acts of Josias, and his hope, Gr. were are written in the law of the Lord.
27And his acts, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Juda.

1Y JOSÍAS hizo pascua á Jehová en Jerusalem, y sacrificaron la pascua á los catorce del mes primero.
2Y puso á los sacerdotes en sus empleos, y confirmólos en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová.
3Y dijo á los Levitas que enseñaban á todo Israel, y que estaban dedicados á Jehová: Poned el arca del santuario en la casa que edificó Salomón hijo de David, rey de Israel, para que no la carguéis más sobre los hombros. Ahora serviréis á Jehová vuestro Dios, y á su pueblo Israel.
4Apercibíos según las familias de vuestros padres, por vuestros órdenes, conforme á la prescripción de David rey de Israel, y de Salomón su hijo.
5Estad en el santuario según la distribución de las familias de vuestros hermanos los hijos del pueblo, y según la división de la familia de los Levitas.
6Sacrificad luego la pascua: y después de santificaros, apercibid á vuestros hermanos, para que hagan conforme á la palabra de Jehová dada por mano de Moisés.

9Asimismo Chônanías, y Semeías y Nathanael sus hermanos, y Hasabías, Jehiel, y Josabad, príncipes de los Levitas, dieron á los Levitas para los sacrificios de la pascua cinco mil ovejas, y quinientos bueyes.
10Aprestado así el servicio, los sacerdotes se colocaron en sus puestos, y asimismo los Levitas en sus órdenes, conforme al mandamiento del rey.
11Y sacrificaron la pascua; y esparcían los sacerdotes la sangre tomada de mano de los Levitas, y los Levitas desollaban.
12Tomaron luego del holocausto, para dar conforme á los repartimientos por las familias de los del pueblo, á fin de que ofreciesen á Jehová, según está escrito en el libro de Moisés: y asimismo tomaron de los bueyes.
13Y asaron la pascua al fuego según la costumbre: mas lo que había sido santificado lo cocieron en ollas, en calderos, y calderas, y repartiéronlo prestamente á todo el pueblo.
14Y después aderezaron para sí y para los sacerdotes; porque los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, estuvieron ocupados hasta la noche en el sacrificio de los holocaustos y de los sebos; por tanto, los Levitas aderezaron para sí, y para los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón.
15Asimismo los cantores hijos de Asaph estaban en su puesto, conforme al mandamiento de David, de Asaph y de Hemán, y de Jeduthún vidente del rey; también los porteros estaban á cada puerta; y no era menester que se apartasen de su ministerio, porque sus hermanos los Levitas aparejaban para ellos.
16Así fué aprestado todo el servicio de Jehová en aquel día, para hacer la pascua, y sacrificar los holocaustos sobre el altar de Jehová, conforme al mandamiento del rey Josías.
17Y los hijos de Israel que se hallaron allí, hicieron la pascua en aquel tiempo, y la solemnidad de los panes sin levadura, por siete días.
18Nunca tal pascua fué hecha en Israel desde los días de Samuel el profeta; ni ningún rey de Israel hizo pascua tal como la que hizo el rey Josías, y los sacerdotes y Levitas, y todo Judá é Israel, los que se hallaron allí, juntamente con los moradores de Jerusalem.
19Esta pascua fué celebrada en el año dieciocho del rey Josías.
20Después de todas estas cosas, luego de haber Josías preparado la casa, Nechâo rey de Egipto subió á hacer guerra en Carchêmis junto á Eufrates; y salió Josías contra él.
21Y él le envió embajadores, diciendo: ¿Qué tenemos yo y tú, rey de Judá? Yo no vengo contra ti hoy, sino contra la casa que me hace guerra: y Dios dijo que me apresurase. Déjate de meterte con Dios, que es conmigo, no te destruya.
22Mas Josías no volvió su rostro de él, antes disfrazóse para darle batalla, y no atendió á las palabras de Nechâo, que eran de boca de Dios; y vino á darle la batalla en el campo de Megiddo.
23Y los archeros tiraron al rey Josías flechas; y dijo el rey á sus siervos: Quitadme de aquí, porque estoy herido gravemente.
24Entonces sus siervos lo quitaron de aquel carro, y pusiéronle en otro segundo carro que tenía, y lleváronle á Jerusalem, y murió; y sepultáronle en los sepulcros de sus padres. Y todo Judá y Jerusalem hizo duelo por Josías.
25Y endechó Jeremías por Josías, y todos los cantores y cantoras recitan sus lamentaciones sobre Josías hasta hoy; y las dieron por norma para endechar en Israel, las cuales están escritas en las Lamentaciones.
26Lo demás de los hechos de Josías, y sus piadosas obras, conforme á lo que está escrito en la ley de Jehová,

1Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,
3And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
4And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.
6So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
7And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance.

9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king’s commandment.
11And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.
12And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
13And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
14And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
15And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
17And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
18And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

20After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
21But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
22Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.
23And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.
24His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
25And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

1Josiah kept a Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem. They killed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2He set the priests in their offices and encouraged them in the service of the LORD’s house.
3He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to the LORD, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. It will no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God and his people Israel.
4Prepare yourselves after your fathers’ houses by your divisions, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.
5Stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the children of the people, and let there be for each a portion of a fathers’ house of the Levites.
6Kill the Passover lamb, sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to the LORD’s word by Moses.”
7Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and young goats, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls. These were of the king’s substance.
