Josia pertanto tolse via tutte le abominazioni da tutto il paese de' figliuoli d'Israele: e fece si, che tutti quei, che restavano d'Israele, servissero il Signore Dio loro. Per tutto il tempo ch'ei visse, eglino non abbandonarono il Signore Dio de' padri loro. Immolata la Pasqua con grandissima solennità, e con grandissimo numero di vittime, Josia celebra per sette giorni la festa degli azzimi. Di poi avendo cercato di venir a battaglia contro il re d'Egitto, ferito gravemente, si muore con grandissimo lutto di tutti, e particolarmente di Geremia.
Y quitó Josías todas las abominaciones de todas las tierras de los hijos de Israel, é hizo á todos los que se hallaron en Israel que sirviesen á Jehová su Dios. No se apartaron de en pos de Jehová el Dios de sus padres, todo el tiempo que él vivió.
