Ma il rimanente del popolo, uccisi quelli, che avean dato morte ad Amon, dichiararono Josia suo figliuolo, suo successore nel regno. Josia, tolto il culto degl'idoli, ristaura il tempio, e trovato il libro della legge, si atterrisce, e adunato il popolo, e letto il libro, stabilisce alleanza col Signore.
