17Auch einen Brief schrieb er, um Jahwe, den Gott Israels, zu lästern und wider ihn zu reden, indem er behauptete: Wie die Götter der Völker in den verschiedenen Ländern ihr Volk nicht aus meiner Gewalt errettet haben, ebensowenig wird auch der Gott Hiskias sein Volk aus meiner Gewalt erretten.

17Además de esto escribió letras en que blasfemaba á Jehová el Dios de Israel, y hablaba contra él, diciendo: Como los dioses de las gentes de los países no pudieron librar su pueblo de mis manos, tampoco el Dios de Ezechîas librará al suyo de mis manos.

17He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.
World English Bible
17He also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and speaking against him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall the God of Hezekiah not deliver his people out of my hand.”
