E fatte che furono queste cose secondo il rito, tutti gl'Israeliti, che si trovarono nelle città di Giuda, andarono a spezzare i simolacri, e tagliare i boschetti, e i demolire i luoghi eccelsi, e a distrugger gli altari non solo in tutto il paese di Giuda, e di Beniamin ma anche ne' paesi di Ephraim, e di Manasse; né si ristettero finché gli ebbero totalmente annichilati: indi tutti i figliuoli d'Israele se ne tornarono alle loro possessioni, e alle loro città.
HECHAS todas estas cosas, todos los de Israel que se habían hallado allí, salieron por las ciudades de Judá, y quebraron las estatuas y destruyeron los bosques, y derribaron los altos y los altares por todo Judá y Benjamín, y también en Ephraim y Manasés, hasta acabarlo todo. Después volviéronse todos los hijos de Israel, cada uno á su posesión y á sus ciudades.

In tutto quello, che esigeva il ministero della casa del Signore, secondo la legge, e le cerimonie, bramoso di cercare con tutto il cuor suo il suo Dio: ed ei lo fece, e fu prosperato. Sennacherib porta la guerra contro Giuda, ed Ezechia esorta il popolo a confidare nel Signore, e quegli cerca di distornelo colle minacce, e colle bestemmie. Alle preghiere di Ezechia, e d'Isaia un Angelo dissipa l’esercito di Sennacherib, il quale fugge, ed è ucciso dai figlivoli. Ma Ezechia, levatosi in superbia per la troppa felicità, offende Dio. A lui succede l'empio figliuolo Manasse.
