E Achaz si addormentò co' padri suoi, e fu sepolto nella città di Gerusalemme: perocché non vollero metterlo nei sepolcri dei re d'Israele. E gli succedette nel regno Ezechia suo figliuolo. Ezechia, aperto il tempio, richiamati i sacerdoti, i Leviti, e i cantori, ristaura il culto di Dio già abolito, e offerisce con gran letizia moltissimi olocausti, e sagrifizj.
