1Joatán tenía veinte y cinco años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó diez y seis años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jerusá, hija de Sadoc.
2Hizo lo que era recto a los ojos de Yahvé, imitando en todo el proceder de su padre Ocías, salvo que no penetró en el Templo de Yahvé. El pueblo, sin embargo, seguía haciendo el mal.
3Joatán construyó la puerta superior de la Casa de Yahvé, e hizo muchas construcciones sobre los muros del Ofel.
4Consfruyó también ciudades en la montaña de Judá, y en los bosques edificó castillos y torres.
5Hizo guerra contra el rey de los hijos de Ammón, a los cuales venció. Los hijos de Ammón le dieron aquel año cien talentos de plata, diez mil coros de trigo y diez mil de cebada. Los ammonitas le trajeron lo mismo el año segundo y el tercero.
6Así Joatán llegó a ser poderoso, porque caminaba delante de Yahvé, su Dios.
7Los demás hechos de Joatán, y todas sus guerras y sus obras, he aquí que esto está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.
8Tenía veinte y cinco años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó diez y seis años en Jerusalén.
9Joatán se durmió con sus padres, y le sepultaron en la ciudad de David. En su lugar reinó Acaz, su hijo.

1DE VEINTICINCO años era Joatham cuando comenzó á reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Jerusa, hija de Sadoc.
2E hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho Uzzías su padre, salvo que no entró en el templo de Jehová. Y el pueblo falseaba aún.
3Edificó él la puerta mayor de la casa de Jehová, y en el muro de la fortaleza edificó mucho.
4Además edificó ciudades en las montañas de Judá, y labró palacios y torres en los bosques.
5También tuvo él guerra con el rey de los hijos de Ammón, á los cuales venció; y diéronle los hijos de Ammón en aquel año cien talentos de plata, y diez mil coros de trigo, y diez mil de cebada. Esto le dieron los hijos de Ammón, y lo mismo en el segundo año, y en el tercero.
6Así que Joatham fué fortificado, porque preparó sus caminos delante de Jehová su Dios.
7Lo demás de los hechos de Joatham, y todas sus guerras, y sus caminos, he aquí está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.
8Cuando comenzó á reinar era de veinticinco años, y dieciséis reinó en Jerusalem.
9Y durmió Joatham con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David; y reinó en su lugar Achâz su hijo.

1Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.
2And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did: howbeit he entered not into the temple of the LORD. And the people did yet corruptly.
3He built the high gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.
4Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
5He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.
6So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.
7Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
8He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
9And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

1Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.
2He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that his father Uzziah had done. However he didn’t enter into the LORD’s temple. The people still acted corruptly.
3He built the upper gate of the LORD’s house, and he built much on the wall of Ophel.
4Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers.
5He also fought with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. The children of Ammon also gave that much to him in the second year, and in the third.
6So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.
