1Then all the people of Iudah tooke Vzziah, which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King in the steade of his father Amaziah.
2He buylt Eloth, and restored it to Iudah after that the King slept with his fathers.
3Sixteene yeere olde was Vzziah, when he began to reigne, and he reigned two and fiftie yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iecoliah of Ierusalem.
4And hee did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to al that his father Amaziah did.
5And he sought God in the dayes of Zechariah (which vnderstoode the visions of God) and when as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.
6For he went forth and fought against the Philistims and brake downe the wall of Gath, and the wall of Iabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities in Ashdod, and among the Philistims.
7And God helped him against ye Philistims, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal and Hammeunim.
8And the Ammonites gaue gifts to Vzziah, and his name spred to the entring in of Egypt: for he did most valiantly.
9Moreouer Uzziah buylt towres in Ierusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning, and made them strong.
10And he built towres in the wildernesse, and digged many cisternes: for he had much cattell both in the valleyes and playnes, plowmen, and dressers of vines in the mountaines, and in Carmel: for he loued husbandrie.
11Vzziah had also an hoste of fighting men that went out to warre by bandes, according to the count of their nomber vnder the hande of Ieiel the Scribe, and Maaseiah the ruler, and vnder the hand of Hananiah, one of the Kings captaines.
12The whole nomber of the chiefe of the families of the valiant men were two thousande and sixe hundreth.
13And vnder their hande was the armie for warre, three hundreth and seuen thousand, and fiue hundreth that fought valiantly to helpe the King against the enemie.
14And Vzziah prepared them throughout all the hoste, shieldes, and speares, and helmets, and brigandines, and bowes, and stones to sling.
15He made also very artificial engins in Ierusalem, to be vpon the towres and vpon the corners, to shoote arrowes and great stones: and his name spred farre abroade, because God did helpe him marueilously, till he was mightie.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lift vp to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the Temple of the Lord to burne incense vpon the altar of incense.
17And Azariah the Priest went in after him, and with him foure score Priests of the Lord, valiant men.
18And they withstoode Vzziah the King, and said vnto him, It perteineth not to thee, Vzziah, to burne incense vnto the Lord, but to the Priests the sonnes of Aaron, that are consecrated for to offer incense: goe forth of the Sanctuarie: for thou hast transgressed, and thou shalt haue none honour of the Lord God.
19Then Vzziah was wroth, and had incense in his hand to burne it: and while he was wroth with the Priestes, the leprosie rose vp in his forehead before the Priestes in the house of the Lord beside the incense altar.
20And when Azariah the chiefe Priest with al the Priestes looked vpon him, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they caused him hastily to depart thence: and he was euen compelled to go out, because the Lord had smitten him.
21And Vzziah the king was a leper vnto the day of his death, and dwelt as a leper in an house apart, because he was cut off from the house of ye Lord: and Iotham his sonne ruled ouer the Kings house, and iudged the people of the land.
22Concerning the rest of the acts of Vzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the Prophet the sonne of Amoz write.
23So Vzziah slept with his fathers, and they buryed him with his fathers in the fielde of the burial, which perteined to the kings: for they said, He is a leper. And Iotham his sonne reigned in his steade.

1ENTONCES todo el pueblo de Judá tomó á Uzzías, el cual era de diez y seis años, y pusiéronlo por rey en lugar de Amasías su padre.
2Edificó él á Eloth, y la restituyó á Judá después que el rey durmió con sus padres.
3De diez y seis años era Uzzías cuando comenzó á reinar, y cincuenta y dos años reinó en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Jechôlía, de Jerusalem.
4E hizo lo recto en los ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho Amasías su padre.
5Y persistió en buscar á Dios en los días de Zachârías, entendido en visiones de Dios; y en estos días que él buscó á Jehová, él le prosperó.
6Y salió, y peleó contra los Filisteos, y rompió el muro de Gath, y el muro de Jabnia, y el muro de Asdod; y edificó ciudades en Asdod, y en la tierra de los Filisteos.
7Y dióle Dios ayuda contra los Filisteos, y contra los Arabes que habitaban en Gur-baal, y contra los Ammonitas.
8Y dieron los Ammonitas presentes á Uzzías, y divulgóse su nombre hasta la entrada de Egipto; porque se había hecho altamente poderoso.
9Edificó también Uzzías torres en Jerusalem, junto á la puerta del ángulo, y junto á la puerta del valle, y junto á las esquinas; y fortificólas.
10Asimismo edificó torres en el desierto, y abrió muchas cisternas: porque tuvo muchos ganados, así en los valles como en las vegas; y viñas, y labranzas, así en los montes como en los llanos fértiles; porque era amigo de la agricultura.
11Tuvo también Uzzías escuadrones de guerreros, los cuales salían á la guerra en ejército, según que estaban por lista hecha por mano de Jehiel escriba y de Maasías gobernador, y por mano de Hananías, uno de los príncipes del rey.
12Todo el número de los jefes de familias, valientes y esforzados, era dos mil y seiscientos.
13Y bajo la mano de éstos estaba el ejército de guerra, de trescientos siete mil y quinientos guerreros poderosos y fuertes para ayudar al rey contra los enemigos.
14Y aprestóles Uzzías para todo el ejército, escudos, lanzas, almetes, coseletes, arcos, y hondas de tirar piedras.
15E hizo en Jerusalem máquinas por industria de ingenieros, para que estuviesen en las torres y en los baluartes, para arrojar saetas y grandes piedras, y su fama se extendió lejos, porque se ayudó maravillosamente, hasta hacerse fuerte.
16Mas cuando fué fortificado, su corazón se enalteció hasta corromperse; porque se rebeló contra Jehová su Dios, entrando en el templo de Jehová para quemar sahumerios en el altar del perfume.
17Y entró tras él el sacerdote Azarías, y con él ochenta sacerdotes de Jehová, de los valientes.
18Y pusiéronse contra el rey Uzzías, y dijéronle: No á ti, oh Uzzías, el quemar perfume á Jehová, sino á los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón, que son consagrados para quemarlo: sal del santuario, por que has prevaricado, y no te será para gloria delante del Dios Jehová.
19Y airóse Uzzías, que tenía el perfume en la mano para quemarlo; y en esta su ira contra los sacerdotes, la lepra le salió en la frente delante de los sacerdotes en la casa de Jehová, junto al altar del perfume.
20Y miróle Azarías el sumo sacerdote, y todos los sacerdotes, y he aquí la lepra estaba en su frente; é hiciéronle salir apriesa de aquel lugar; y él también se dió priesa á salir, porque Jehová lo había herido.
21Así el rey Uzzías fué leproso hasta el día de su muerte, y habitó en una casa apartada, leproso, por lo que había sido separado de la casa de Jehová; y Joatham su hijo tuvo cargo de la casa real, gobernando al pueblo de la tierra.
22Lo demás de los hechos de Uzzías, primeros y postreros, escribiólo Isaías profeta, hijo de Amós.
23Y durmió Uzzías con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en el campo de los sepulcros reales; porque dijeron: Leproso es. Y reinó Joatham su hijo en lugar suyo.

1Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
3Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
4And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.
5And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
6And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

11Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.
12The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.
13And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.
15And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
17And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
18And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.
19Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
20And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
21And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

12The whole number of the heads of fathers’ households, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand six hundred.
13Under their hand was an army, three hundred seven thousand five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, spears, helmets, coats of mail, bows, and stones for slinging.
15In Jerusalem, he made devices, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad, because he was marvelously helped until he was strong.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly and he trespassed against the LORD his God, for he went into the LORD’s temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
17Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of the LORD, who were valiant men.
18They resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, “It isn’t for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed. It will not be for your honor from the LORD God.”
19Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the LORD’s house, beside the altar of incense.
20Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead; and they thrust him out quickly from there. Indeed, he himself also hurried to go out, because the LORD had struck him.
21Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the LORD’s house. Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
