1Então todo o povo de Judá tomou a Uzias, o qual era de dezesseis anos, e puseram-no por rei em lugar de Amazias seu pai.
2Edificou ele a Elote, e a restituiu a Judá depois que o rei descansou com seus pais.
3De dezesseis anos era Uzias quando começou a reinar, e cinquenta e dois anos reinou em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe foi Jecolias, de Jerusalém.
4E fez o que era correto aos olhos do SENHOR, conforme a todas as coisas que havia feito Amazias seu pai.
5E persistiu em buscar a Deus nos dias de Zacarias, entendido em visões de Deus; e nos dias que ele buscou ao SENHOR, ele lhe prosperou.
6E saiu, e lutou contra os filisteus, e rompeu o muro de Gate, e o muro de Jabné, e o muro de Asdode; e edificou cidades em Asdode, e na terra dos filisteus.
7E deu-lhe Deus ajuda contra os filisteus, e contra os árabes que habitavam em Gur-Baal, e contra os amonitas.
8E os amonitas deram tributos a Uzias, e divulgou-se seu nome até a entrada do Egito; porque havia se tornado altamente poderoso.
9Edificou também Uzias torres em Jerusalém, junto à porta do ângulo, e junto à porta do vale, e junto às esquinas; e fortificou-as.
10Assim edificou torres no deserto, e abriu muitas cisternas: porque teve muitos gados, assim nos vales como nas planícies; e vinhas, e lavouras, assim nos montes como nos campos férteis; porque era amigo da agricultura.
11Teve também Uzias esquadrões de guerreiros, os quais saíam à guerra em exército, segundo que estavam por lista feita por mão de Jeiel escriba e de Maaseias governador, e por mão de Hananias, um dos príncipes do rei.
12Todo o número dos chefes de famílias, valentes e esforçados, era dois mil e seiscentos.
13E sob a mão destes estava o exército de guerra, de trezentos sete mil e quinhentos guerreiros poderosos e fortes para ajudar ao rei contra os inimigos.
14E preparou-lhes Uzias para todo o exército, escudos, lanças, capacetes, couraças, arcos, e fundas de tirar pedras.
15E fez em Jerusalém máquinas por artifício de peritos, para que estivessem nas torres e nos baluartes, para lançar setas e grandes pedras, e sua fama se estendeu longe, porque se ajudou maravilhosamente, até fazer-se forte.
16Mas quando foi fortificado, seu coração se enalteceu até corromper-se; porque se rebelou contra o SENHOR seu Deus, entrando no templo do SENHOR para queimar incenso no altar do incenso.
17E entrou atrás dele o sacerdote Azarias, e com ele oitenta sacerdotes do SENHOR, dos valentes.
18E puseram-se contra o rei Uzias, e disseram-lhe: Não a ti, ó Uzias, o queimar incenso ao SENHOR, mas sim aos sacerdotes filhos de Arão, que são consagrados para queimá-lo: sai do santuário, por que pecaste, e não te será para glória diante do SENHOR Deus.
19E irou-se Uzias, que tinha o incenso na mão para queimá-lo; e em esta sua ira contra os sacerdotes, a lepra lhe surgiu na testa diante dos sacerdotes na casa do SENHOR, junto ao altar do incenso.
20E olhou-lhe Azarias o sumo sacerdote, e todos os sacerdotes, e eis que a lepra estava em sua testa; e fizeram-lhe sair apressadamente daquele lugar; e ele também se deu pressa a sair, porque o SENHOR o havia ferido.
21Assim o rei Uzias foi leproso até o dia de sua morte, e habitou em uma casa separada, leproso, pelo que havia sido separado da casa do SENHOR; e Jotão seu filho teve cargo da casa real, governando ao povo da terra.
22Os demais dos feitos de Uzias, primeiros e últimos, escreveu-os Isaías profeta, filho de Amoz.
23E descansou Uzias com seus pais, e sepultaram-no com seus pais no campo dos sepulcros reais; porque disseram: Leproso é. E seu filho Jotão reinou Jotão em seu lugar.

1ENTONCES todo el pueblo de Judá tomó á Uzzías, el cual era de diez y seis años, y pusiéronlo por rey en lugar de Amasías su padre.
2Edificó él á Eloth, y la restituyó á Judá después que el rey durmió con sus padres.
3De diez y seis años era Uzzías cuando comenzó á reinar, y cincuenta y dos años reinó en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Jechôlía, de Jerusalem.
4E hizo lo recto en los ojos de Jehová, conforme á todas las cosas que había hecho Amasías su padre.
5Y persistió en buscar á Dios en los días de Zachârías, entendido en visiones de Dios; y en estos días que él buscó á Jehová, él le prosperó.
6Y salió, y peleó contra los Filisteos, y rompió el muro de Gath, y el muro de Jabnia, y el muro de Asdod; y edificó ciudades en Asdod, y en la tierra de los Filisteos.
7Y dióle Dios ayuda contra los Filisteos, y contra los Arabes que habitaban en Gur-baal, y contra los Ammonitas.
8Y dieron los Ammonitas presentes á Uzzías, y divulgóse su nombre hasta la entrada de Egipto; porque se había hecho altamente poderoso.
9Edificó también Uzzías torres en Jerusalem, junto á la puerta del ángulo, y junto á la puerta del valle, y junto á las esquinas; y fortificólas.
10Asimismo edificó torres en el desierto, y abrió muchas cisternas: porque tuvo muchos ganados, así en los valles como en las vegas; y viñas, y labranzas, así en los montes como en los llanos fértiles; porque era amigo de la agricultura.
11Tuvo también Uzzías escuadrones de guerreros, los cuales salían á la guerra en ejército, según que estaban por lista hecha por mano de Jehiel escriba y de Maasías gobernador, y por mano de Hananías, uno de los príncipes del rey.
12Todo el número de los jefes de familias, valientes y esforzados, era dos mil y seiscientos.
13Y bajo la mano de éstos estaba el ejército de guerra, de trescientos siete mil y quinientos guerreros poderosos y fuertes para ayudar al rey contra los enemigos.
14Y aprestóles Uzzías para todo el ejército, escudos, lanzas, almetes, coseletes, arcos, y hondas de tirar piedras.
15E hizo en Jerusalem máquinas por industria de ingenieros, para que estuviesen en las torres y en los baluartes, para arrojar saetas y grandes piedras, y su fama se extendió lejos, porque se ayudó maravillosamente, hasta hacerse fuerte.
16Mas cuando fué fortificado, su corazón se enalteció hasta corromperse; porque se rebeló contra Jehová su Dios, entrando en el templo de Jehová para quemar sahumerios en el altar del perfume.
17Y entró tras él el sacerdote Azarías, y con él ochenta sacerdotes de Jehová, de los valientes.
18Y pusiéronse contra el rey Uzzías, y dijéronle: No á ti, oh Uzzías, el quemar perfume á Jehová, sino á los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón, que son consagrados para quemarlo: sal del santuario, por que has prevaricado, y no te será para gloria delante del Dios Jehová.
19Y airóse Uzzías, que tenía el perfume en la mano para quemarlo; y en esta su ira contra los sacerdotes, la lepra le salió en la frente delante de los sacerdotes en la casa de Jehová, junto al altar del perfume.
20Y miróle Azarías el sumo sacerdote, y todos los sacerdotes, y he aquí la lepra estaba en su frente; é hiciéronle salir apriesa de aquel lugar; y él también se dió priesa á salir, porque Jehová lo había herido.
21Así el rey Uzzías fué leproso hasta el día de su muerte, y habitó en una casa apartada, leproso, por lo que había sido separado de la casa de Jehová; y Joatham su hijo tuvo cargo de la casa real, gobernando al pueblo de la tierra.
22Lo demás de los hechos de Uzzías, primeros y postreros, escribiólo Isaías profeta, hijo de Amós.
23Y durmió Uzzías con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en el campo de los sepulcros reales; porque dijeron: Leproso es. Y reinó Joatham su hijo en lugar suyo.

1Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
3Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
4And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.
5And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
6And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
7And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Mehunims.
8And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.
9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
10Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.
11Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.
12The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.
13And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.
15And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
17And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:
18And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.
19Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
20And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
21And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
22Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
23So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

11Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men who went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.
12The whole number of the heads of fathers’ households, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand six hundred.
13Under their hand was an army, three hundred seven thousand five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, spears, helmets, coats of mail, bows, and stones for slinging.
15In Jerusalem, he made devices, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad, because he was marvelously helped until he was strong.
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly and he trespassed against the LORD his God, for he went into the LORD’s temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
17Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of the LORD, who were valiant men.
18They resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, “It isn’t for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed. It will not be for your honor from the LORD God.”
19Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the LORD’s house, beside the altar of incense.
20Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead; and they thrust him out quickly from there. Indeed, he himself also hurried to go out, because the LORD had struck him.
21Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the LORD’s house. Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
