16Als er so zu ihm redete, antwortete ihm Amazja: Haben wir dich etwa zum Ratgeber des Königs bestellt? Schweig still, sonst bekommst du Schläge! Da schwieg der Prophet und sagte nur noch: Ich sehe nun, dass Gott beschlossen hat, dich zu verderben, weil du solches getan und nicht auf meinen Rat gehört hast.

16Y hablándole el profeta estas cosas, él le respondió: ¿Hante puesto á ti por consejero del rey? Déjate de eso: ¿por qué quieres que te maten? Y al cesar, el profeta dijo luego: Yo sé que Dios ha acordado destruirte, porque has hecho esto, y no obedeciste á mi consejo.

16And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king’s counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.
World English Bible
16As he talked with him, the king said to him, “Have we made you one of the king’s counselors? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” Then the prophet stopped, and said, “I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”
