1Et Josaphat s'endormit avec ses pères ; et il fut enseveli dans la ville de David, et Joram, son fils, régna à sa place.
2Il avait six frères nés de Josaphat : Azarias, Jehiel, Zacharie, Azarias, Michel et Zaphatias. Tels furent les fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda.
3Leur père les avait richement dotés d'argent, d'or et d'armes avec des places fortes en Juda ; mais il laissa le royaume à Joram, parce qu'il était le premier-né.
4Et Joram se mit en marche dans son royaume, et il s'affermit, et il fit périr par le glaive tous ses frères avec quelques-uns des chefs d'Israël.
5Il avait trente-deux ans quand il monta sur le trône, et il régna huit ans à Jérusalem.
6Et il marcha dans la voie du roi d'Israël, comme avait fait la maison d'Achab, parce que sa femme était fille d'Achab, et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur.
7Toutefois, le Seigneur ne voulait pas détruire la maison de David, à cause de l'alliance qu'il avait faite avec lui, et parce qu'il avait promis de donner, à lui et à ses fils, un flambeau qui ne s'éteindrait jamais.
8En ces jours-là, Edom se souleva contre Juda, et mit à sa tête un roi.
9Et Joram partit avec ses chefs et toute sa cavalerie, et il se leva la nuit, et il tailla en pièces Edom qui l'avait enveloppé ; les chefs des chars, le peuple, tout s'enfuit chacun en sa demeure.
10Or, Edom est resté en révolte contre Juda jusqu'à nos jours. En ce temps- là, Lomna se souleva aussi contre Joram, parce qu'il avait abandonné le Seigneur Dieu de ses pères,
11Et qu'il avait bâti des hauts lieux dans les villes de Juda, et entraîné les habitants de Jérusalem à se prostituer, et qu'il avait égaré Juda.
12Alors, il lui vint une lettre du prophète Elie, disant : Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu de David, ton aïeul : En punition de ce que tu n'as point marché dans la voie de Josaphat, ton père, ni dans la voie d'Asa, roi de la Judée ;
13Et de ce que tu as marché dans les voies des rois d'Israël, et de ce que tu as entraîné Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem à se prostituer, comme s'est prostituée la maison d'Achab, et de ce que tu as tué tes frères, fils de ton père, qui valaient mieux que toi,
14Voilà que le Seigneur va te frapper d'une grande plaie au milieu de ton peuple, de tes fils, de tes femmes, de toutes tes richesses.
15Tu seras atteint d'une maladie cruelle, d'un mal d'entrailles, et tous tes intestins sortiront de jour en jour par l'effet de cette maladie.
16Et le Seigneur excita contre Joram les Philistins, les Arabes et les voisins de l'Éthiopie.
17Et ils marchèrent sur Juda, et furent vainqueurs ; ils enlevèrent tout ce qu'ils trouvèrent dans le palais du roi, avec ses fils et ses filles ; il ne lui resta pas de fils, hormis Ochozias, le plus jeune de tous.
18Après cela, le Seigneur le frappa d'un mal d'entrailles incurable ;
19Et les jours s'écoulèrent, et après deux ans accomplis, le mal avait fait sortir tous ses intestins, et il mourut dans une angoisse cruelle. Et son peuple ne lui fit point de funérailles comme il en avait fait à Josaphat, son père.
20Il était monté sur le trône à trente-deux ans, et il avait régné huit ans à Jérusalem, et il n'avait pas marché d'une manière digne de louange, et il fut enseveli dans la ville de David, mais non dans le sépulcre des rois.

1Y DURMIÓ Josaphat con sus padres, y sepultáronlo con sus padres en la ciudad de David. Y reinó en su lugar Joram su hijo.
2Este tuvo hermanos, hijos de Josaphat, á Azarías, Jehiel, Zachârías, Azarías, Michâel, y Sephatías. Todos estos fueron hijos de Josaphat rey de Israel.
3Y su padre les había dado muchos dones de oro y de plata, y cosas preciosas, y ciudades fuertes en Judá; mas había dado el reino á Joram, porque él era el primogénito.
4Fué pues elevado Joram al reino de su padre; y luego que se hizo fuerte, mató á cuchillo á todos sus hermanos, y asimismo algunos de los príncipes de Israel.
5Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalem.
6Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb; porque tenía por mujer la hija de Achâb, é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
7Mas Jehová no quiso destruir la casa de David, á causa de la alianza que con David había hecho, y porque le había dicho que le daría lámpara á él y á sus hijos perpetuamente.
8En los días de éste se rebeló la Idumea, para no estar bajo el poder de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
9Entonces pasó Joram con sus príncipes, y consigo todos sus carros; y levantóse de noche, é hirió á los Idumeos que le habían cercado, y á todos los comandantes de sus carros.
10Con todo eso Edom quedó rebelado, sin estar bajo la mano de Judá hasta hoy. También se rebeló en el mismo tiempo Libna para no estar bajo su mano; por cuanto él había dejado á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
11Demás de esto hizo altos en los montes de Judá, é hizo que los moradores de Jerusalem fornicasen, y á ello impelió á Judá.
12Y viniéronle letras del profeta Elías, que decían: Jehová, el Dios de David tu padre, ha dicho así: Por cuanto no has andado en los caminos de Josaphat tu padre, ni en los caminos de Asa, rey de Judá,
13Antes has andado en el camino de los reyes de Israel, y has hecho que fornicase Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem, como fornicó la casa de Achâb; y además has muerto á tus hermanos, á la familia de tu padre, los cuales eran mejores que tú:
14He aquí Jehová herirá tu pueblo de una grande plaga, y á tus hijos y á tus mujeres, y á toda tu hacienda;
15Y á ti con muchas enfermedades, con enfermedad de tus entrañas, hasta que las entrañas se te salgan á causa de la enfermedad de cada día.
16Entonces despertó Jehová contra Joram el espíritu de los Filisteos, y de los Arabes que estaban junto á los Etiopes;
17Y subieron contra Judá, é invadieron la tierra, y tomaron toda la hacienda que hallaron en la casa del rey, y á sus hijos, y á sus mujeres; que no le quedó hijo, sino Joachâz el menor de sus hijos.
18Después de todo esto Jehová lo hirió en las entrañas de una enfermedad incurable.
19Y aconteció que, pasando un día tras otro, al fin, al cabo de dos años, las entrañas se le salieron con la enfermedad, muriendo así de enfermedad muy penosa. Y no le hizo quema su pueblo, como las había hecho á sus padres.
20Cuando comenzó á reinar era de treinta y dos años, y reinó en Jerusalem ocho años; y fuése sin ser deseado. Y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David, mas no en los sepulcros de los reyes.

1Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
2And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.
4Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.
5Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
6And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.
7Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
8In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king.
9Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.
10So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
11Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.
12And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
13But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father’s house, which were better than thyself:
14Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
15And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.
16Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
17And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
18And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
19And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
20Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

14behold, the LORD will strike your people with a great plague, including your children, your wives, and all your possessions;
15and you will have great sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’”
16The LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and of the Arabians who are beside the Ethiopians;
17and they came up against Judah, broke into it, and carried away all the possessions that were found in the king’s house, including his sons and his wives, so that there was no son left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
