Ma l'anno trentasei del suo regno Baasa re d'Israele entrò nel paese di Giuda, e serrò Rama con muraglie attorno, in maniera che nessuno del regno di Asa poteva o uscirne, o entrarvi.

EN el año treinta y seis del reinado de Asa, subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno al rey Asa, rey de Judá.

In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

Allora Asa cavò fuori l'argento, e l'oro dai tesori della casa del Signore, e dai tesori del re, e lo mandò a Benadad re di Siria, che dimorava in Damasco, e gli fece dire:

Entonces sacó Asa la plata y el oro de los tesoros de la casa de Jehová y de la casa real, y envió á Ben-adad rey de Siria, que estaba en Damasco, diciendo:

Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

Noi siamo confederati tu, ed io, e anche il padre mio, e il padre tuo vissero in amistà: per questo ti mando quest'oro, e quest'argento, affinchè, rotta l'alleanza, che tu hai con Baasa re d'Israele, lo costringa a partirsene dal mio paese.

Haya alianza entre mí y ti, como la hubo entre mi padre y tu padre; he aquí yo te he enviado plata y oro, para que vengas y deshagas la alianza que tienes con Baasa rey de Israel, á fin de que se retire de mí.

There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

“Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.”

A tal novella Benadad mandò condottieri de' suoi eserciti contro le città d'Israele, i quali espugnarono Ahion, e Dan, e Abelmaim, e tutte le città murate di Nephthali.

Y consintió Ben-adad con el rey Asa, y envió los capitanes de sus ejércitos á la ciudades de Israel: y batieron á Ion, Dan, y Abel-maim, y las ciudades fuertes de Nephtalí.

And Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.

Udito ciò Baasa, cessò di fortificare Rama, e lasciò l'opera imperfetta.

Y oyendo esto Baasa, cesó de edificar á Rama, y dejó su obra.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.

E il re Asa prese seco tutta la gente di Giuda, e portaron via da Rama le pietre, e i legnami preparati da Baasa, e con essi fortificò Gabaa, e Maspha.

Entonces el rey Asa tomó á todo Judá, y lleváronse de Rama la piedra y madera con que Baasa edificaba, y con ella edificó á Gibaa y Mizpa.

Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.

In quel tempo si presentò ad Asa re di Giuda il profeta Hanani, e gli disse: Perchè tu hai riposta la tua fidanza nel re di Siria, e non nel Signore Dio tuo, per questo è scampato dalle tue mani l'esercito del re di Siria.

En aquel tiempo vino Hanani vidente á Asa rey de Judá, y díjole: Por cuanto te has apoyado en el rey de Siria, y no te apoyaste en Jehová tu Dios, por eso el ejército del rey de Siria ha escapado de tus manos.

And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.

Non eran eglino in molto maggior numero gli Etiopi, e que' della Libia co' loro cocchi, e soldati a cavallo, e colla loro spaventosa moltitudine? e avendo tu creduto al Signore, egli li diede nelle tue mani.

Los Etiopes y los Libios, ¿no eran un ejército numerosísimo, con carros y muy mucha gente de á caballo? con todo, porque te apoyaste en Jehová, él los entregó en tus manos.

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.

Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and exceedingly many horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.

Perocché gli occhi del Signore contemplano tutta la terra, e danno fortezza a quelli, che credono in lui con cuor sincero. Tu adunque hai operato stoltamente; e per questo da ora in poi sorgeranno delle guerre contro di te.

Porque los ojos de Jehová contemplan toda la tierra, para corroborar á los que tienen corazón perfecto para con él. Locamente has hecho en esto; porque de aquí adelante habrá guerra contra ti.

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Ma Asa si mosse ad ira contro il Profeta, e comandò ch'ei fosse messo alla catena: perchè questa cosa lo avea grandemente irritato: e uccise in quel tempo moltissime persone del popolo.

Y enojado Asa contra el vidente, echólo en la casa de la cárcel, porque fué en extremo conmovido á causa de esto. Y oprimió Asa en aquel tiempo algunos del pueblo.

Asa poi cadde malato l'anno trentanove del suo regno di fierissimo dolore di gambe, e neppur nella sua infermità ricorse a Dio; ma confidò piuttosto nel sapere de' medici.

Y el año treinta y nueve de su reinado enfermó Asa de los pies para arriba, y en su enfermedad no buscó á Jehová, sino á los médicos.

And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.

E si addormentò co' padri suoi: e morì l'anno quarantesimo primo del suo regno.

E lo seppellirono nel sepolcro, che egli avea fatto scavare per se nella città di David: e lo posero sul suo letto pieno di aromi, e unguenti delicatissimi manipolati con arte da' profumieri, e li bruciarono con pompa stragrande sopra di lui. Il pio Josaphat succede al padre Asa, e divien possente per ricchezze, e per forza d'armi: spedisce i dottori della legge di Dio per tutto il paese di Giuda: novero de' suoi principi, e de' soldati subordinati ai medesimi.

Y sepultáronlo en sus sepulcros que él había hecho para sí en la ciudad de David; Y pusiéronlo en una litera, la cual hinchieron de aromas y diversas materias odoríferas, preparadas por obra de perfumadores; é hiciéronle una quema muy grande.

And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.
