Y FUÉ el espíritu de Dios sobre Azarías hijo de Obed;
And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

Él salió a encontrarse con Asa y le dijo a él: "Escúchame a mí, Asa, y toda Judá y Benjamín: El SEÑOR está contigo, mientras tú estés con Él. Si lo buscas a Él, Él será encontrado por ti; pero si tú lo abandonas a Él, Él te abandonará a ti.
Y salió al encuentro á Asa, y díjole: Oidme, Asa, y todo Judá y Benjamín: Jehová es con vosotros, si vosotros fuereis con él: y si le buscareis, será hallado de vosotros; mas si le dejareis, él también os dejará.
And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Ahora por un periodo de tiempo largo, Israel estuvo sin un verdadero Dios, sin un sacerdote maestro y sin la ley.

And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.

Pero sean fuertes, y no permitas que tus manos sean débiles, porque tu trabajo será recompensado.

Cuando Asa oyó estas palabras, la profecía de Obed el profeta, él tomó valentía y quitó las cosas repugnantes de toda tierra de Judá y Benjamín, y de las ciudades que él había capturado de la zona rural montañosa de Efraín, y él reconstruyó el altar del SEÑOR, que estaba de frente al pórtico de la casa del SEÑOR.
Y como oyó Asa las palabras y profecía de Obed profeta, fué confortado, y quitó las abominaciones de toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, y de las ciudades que él había tomado en el monte de Ephraim; y reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba delante del pórtico de Jehová.
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.

Él reunió a toda Judá y Benjamín, y aquellos que se quedaron con ellos -- personas de Efraín, Manasés y Simeón. Porque ellos vinieron de Israel a él en grandes números, cuando vieron que el SEÑOR su Dios estaba con él.

Y aun á Maachâ madre del rey Asa, él mismo la depuso de su dignidad, porque había hecho un ídolo en el bosque: y Asa deshizo su ídolo, y lo desmenuzó, y quemó en el torrente de Cedrón.
And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
