1Und der Geist Gottes kam auf Asaria, den Sohn Odeds;
2der ging hinaus, Asa entgegen, und sprach zu ihm: Höret mir zu, Asa, und du, ganz Juda und Benjamin! Der HERR ist mit euch, wenn ihr mit ihm seid; und wenn ihr ihn suchet, so wird er sich von euch finden lassen; werdet ihr aber ihn verlassen, so wird er euch auch verlassen!
3Israel war lange Zeit ohne den wahren Gott und ohne einen Priester, welcher lehrt, und ohne Gesetz.
4Als es sich aber in seiner Not zu dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, kehrte und ihn suchte, da ließ er sich von ihnen finden.
5Aber zu jenen Zeiten hatten die, welche aus und eingingen, keinen Frieden, sondern es kamen große Schrecken über alle Landesbewohner.
6Und es schlug sich ein Volk mit dem andern und eine Stadt mit der andern; denn Gott erschreckte sie durch allerlei Not.
7Ihr aber, ermannet euch und laßt eure Hände nicht sinken; denn euer Werk hat seinen Lohn!
8Als nun Asa diese Worte und die Weissagung des Propheten Oded hörte, ermannte er sich und schaffte die Greuel hinweg aus dem ganzen Lande Juda und Benjamin und aus den Städten, die er auf dem Gebirge Ephraim erobert hatte, und erneuerte den Altar des HERRN, der vor der Halle des HERRN stand.
9Und er versammelte ganz Juda und Benjamin und die Fremdlinge bei ihnen aus Ephraim, Manasse und Simeon; denn es fielen ihm sehr viele Leute aus Israel zu, als sie sahen, daß der HERR, sein Gott, mit ihm war.
10Und sie versammelten sich zu Jerusalem im dritten Monat, im fünfzehnten Jahre der Regierung Asas.
11Und sie opferten dem HERRN an jenem Tage von der Beute, die sie gebracht hatten, siebenhundert Rinder und siebentausend Schafe.
12Und sie gingen den Bund ein, daß sie den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, suchen wollten mit ihrem ganzen Herzen und ihrer ganzen Seele;
13wer aber den HERRN, den Gott Israels, nicht suchen würde, der sollte sterben, ob klein oder groß, ob Mann oder Weib.
14Und sie schwuren dem HERRN mit lauter Stimme, mit Jauchzen, Trompeten und Posaunen.
15Und ganz Juda war fröhlich über den Eid; denn sie hatten mit ihrem ganzen Herzen geschworen; und sie suchten ihn mit ihrem ganzen Willen; und er ließ sich von ihnen finden. Und der HERR gab ihnen Ruhe ringsumher.
16Auch setzte der König Asa seine Mutter Maacha ab, daß sie nicht mehr Gebieterin wäre, weil sie der Aschera ein Götzenbild gemacht hatte. Und Asa hieb das Götzenbild um und zermalmte es und verbrannte es am Bach Kidron.
17Aber die Höhen kamen nicht weg aus Israel; doch war das Herz Asas ungeteilt sein Leben lang.
18Und er brachte das, was sein Vater geheiligt und was er selbst geheiligt hatte, in das Haus Gottes, nämlich Silber, Gold und Geräte.
19Und es war kein Krieg bis zum fünfunddreißigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas.

1Y FUÉ el espíritu de Dios sobre Azarías hijo de Obed;
2Y salió al encuentro á Asa, y díjole: Oidme, Asa, y todo Judá y Benjamín: Jehová es con vosotros, si vosotros fuereis con él: y si le buscareis, será hallado de vosotros; mas si le dejareis, él también os dejará.
3Muchos días ha estado Israel sin verdadero Dios y sin sacerdote, y sin enseñador y sin ley:
4Mas cuando en su tribulación se convirtieron á Jehová Dios de Israel, y le buscaron, él fué hallado de ellos.
5En aquellos tiempos no hubo paz, ni para el que entraba, ni para el que salía, sino muchas aflicciones sobre todos los habitadores de las tierras.
6Y la una gente destruía á la otra, y una ciudad á otra ciudad: porque Dios los conturbó con todas calamidades.
7Esforzaos empero vosotros, y no desfallezcan vuestras manos; que salario hay para vuestra obra.
8Y como oyó Asa las palabras y profecía de Obed profeta, fué confortado, y quitó las abominaciones de toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, y de las ciudades que él había tomado en el monte de Ephraim; y reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba delante del pórtico de Jehová.
9Después hizo juntar á todo Judá y Benjamín, y con ellos los extranjeros de Ephraim, y de Manasés, y de Simeón: porque muchos de Israel se habían pasado á él, viendo que Jehová su Dios era con él.
10Juntáronse pues en Jerusalem en el mes tercero del año décimoquinto del reinado de Asa.
11Y en aquel mismo día sacrificaron á Jehová, de los despojos que habían traído, setecientos bueyes y siete mil ovejas.
12Y entraron en concierto de que buscarían á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, de todo su corazón y de toda su alma;
13Y que cualquiera que no buscase á Jehová el Dios de Israel, muriese, grande ó pequeño, hombre ó mujer.
14Y juraron á Jehová con gran voz y júbilo, á son de trompetas y de bocinas:
15Del cual juramento todos los de Judá se alegraron; porque de todo su corazón lo juraban, y de toda su voluntad lo buscaban: y fué hallado de ellos; y dióles Jehová reposo de todas partes.
16Y aun á Maachâ madre del rey Asa, él mismo la depuso de su dignidad, porque había hecho un ídolo en el bosque: y Asa deshizo su ídolo, y lo desmenuzó, y quemó en el torrente de Cedrón.
17Mas con todo eso los altos no eran quitados de Israel, aunque el corazón de Asa fué perfecto mientras vivió.
18Y metió en la casa de Dios lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él había consagrado, plata y oro y vasos.
19Y no hubo guerra hasta los treinta y cinco años del reinado de Asa.

1And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
2And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
4But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
5And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.
6And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.
7Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
8And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
9And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
10So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
11And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
12And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
13That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
15And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
16And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
17But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
19And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.

1The Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded.
2He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin! The LORD is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
3Now for a long time Israel was without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law.
4But when in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.
5In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.
6They were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God troubled them with all adversity.
7But you be strong! Don’t let your hands be slack, for your work will be rewarded.”
8When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed the LORD’s altar that was before the LORD’s porch.
9He gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who lived with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon; for they came to him out of Israel in abundance when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
