Anno diciottesimo del regno di Geroboam, Abia regnò in Giuda.

A LOS dieciocho años del rey Jeroboam, reinó Abías sobre Judá.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.

Tre anni regnò in Gerusalemme. Sua madre ebbe nome Michaia figliuola di Uriel di Gabaa. E fu guerra tra Abia, e Geroboamo.

E Abia avendo mossa la guerra, e avendo quattrocento mila uomini valorosissimi, e scelti; Geroboamo dall'altra parte mise in ordine un esercito di ottocento mila uomini scelti, e fortissimi nel mestiero delle armi.

Entonces ordenó Abías batalla con un ejército de cuatrocientos mil hombres de guerra valerosos y escogidos: y Jeroboam ordenó batalla contra él con ochocientos mil hombres escogidos, fuertes y valerosos.

And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.

¿No sabéis vosotros, que Jehová Dios de Israel dió el reino á David sobre Israel para siempre, á él y á sus hijos en alianza de sal?

Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

E come si levò su Geroboam figliuolo di Nabath, servo di Salomone figliuolo di David: e si ribellò contro il suo signore.

E si unirono con lui uomini vanissimi, figliuoli di Belial, e supplantarono Roboamo figliuolo di Salomone. Or Roboamo era inesperto, e di poco cuore, e non potè resistere ad essi.

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

Adesso pertanto voi dite, che avete forze da sottrarvi al regno del Signore posseduto da lui per mezzo dei figliuoli di David, e avete turba grande di popolo, e i vitelli d'oro fatti a voi da Geroboam per vostri dei.

Y ahora vosotros tratáis de fortificaros contra el reino de Jehová en mano de los hijos de David, porque sois muchos, y tenéis con vosotros los becerros de oro que Jeroboam os hizo por dioses.

And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

E avete discacciati i sacerdoti del Signore, figliuoli d'Aaronne, e i Leviti: e vi siete creati de' sacerdoti, come tutte le genti della terra: venga chi si sia, e consagri la sua mano immolando un giovine toro, e sette arieti, egli è sacerdote di quelli, che non son dei.

¿No echasteis vosotros á los sacerdotes de Jehová, á los hijos de Aarón, y á los Levitas, y os habéis hecho sacerdotes á la manera de los pueblos de otras tierras, para que cualquiera venga á consagrarse con un becerro y siete carneros, y así sea sacerdote de los que no son dioses?

Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

Haven’t you driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made priests for yourselves according to the ways of the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of those who are no gods.

Ma il Signore nostro egli è Dio, e noi non lo abbandoniamo; e al Signore servono i sacerdoti della stirpe d'Aaronne, e i Leviti nelle cose, che toccano ad essi:

Ed eglino offeriscono olocausti al Signore mattina, e sera, e i timiami manipolati secondo il prescritto della legge, e si espongono i pani sopra una mensa mondissima, ed abbiam presso di noi il candeliere d'oro colle sue lampane, che si accendono sempre la sera: perocché noi osserviamo i precetti del Signore Dio nostro, cui voi avete abbandonato.

Los cuales queman á Jehová los holocaustos cada mañana y cada tarde, y los perfumes aromáticos; y ponen los panes sobre la mesa limpia, y el candelero de oro con sus candilejas para que ardan cada tarde: porque nosotros guardamos la ordenanza de Jehová nuestro Dios; mas vosotros le habéis dejado.

Per la qual cosa il condottiero del nostro esercito egli è Dio, e i suoi sacerdoti dan fiato alle trombe, e le suonano contro di voi. Figliuoli d'Israele, non vogliate combattere contro il Signore Dio de' padri vostri, perchè a voi ciò non torna.

Y he aquí Dios está con nosotros por cabeza, y sus sacerdotes con las trompetas del júbilo para que suenen contra vosotros. Oh hijos de Israel, no peleéis contra Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, porque no os sucederá bien.

And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

Mentre egli così parlava, Geroboam di dietro gli tendeva insidie. E stando in faccia a' nemici, andava cingendo Giuda col suo esercito.

E Giuda volgendosi indietro vide, come egli era assalito di fronte, e alle spalle, e alzò le grida al Signore: e i sacerdoti principiarono a sonare le trombe.

E restarono abbattuti in quel tempo i figliuoli d'Israele, e grandissimo vigore ripresero i figliuoli di Giuda, perchè aveano sperato nel Signore Dio de' padri loro.

Así fueron humillados los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo: mas los hijos de Judá se fortificaron, porque se apoyaban en Jehová el Dios de sus padres.

E Abia inseguì Geroboam che fuggiva, e prese le sue città, Bethel, e i luoghi di sua dipendenza, e Jesana, e i luoghi di sua dipendenza, e anche Ephron colle sue adiacenze.

E Geroboam non potè più far testa, mentre visse Abia: e fu percosso dal Signore, e morì.
