And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Eben-ezer unto Ashdod.

Y tomaron los filisteos el Arca de Dios y la metieron en la casa de Dagón, donde la colocaron junto a Dagón.

Mas cuando al día siguiente los habitantes de Azoto se levantaron muy temprano, vieron a Dagón tendido de bruces en tierra, delante del Arca de Yahvé, y tomaron a Dagón y le pusieron otra vez a su lugar.
Y el siguiente día los de Asdod se levantaron de mañana, y he aquí Dagón postrado en tierra delante del arca de Jehová: y tomaron á Dagón, y volviéronlo á su lugar.
And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

Pero cuando al día siguiente se levantaron muy de mañana, vieron a Dagón (de nuevo) tendido en tierra sobre su rostro delante del Arca de Yahvé, y la cabeza de Dagón y las dos palmas de sus manos yacían cortadas sobre el umbral de la puerta, quedándole solamente (el tronco en) forma de pez.
Y tornándose á levantar de mañana el siguiente día, he aquí que Dagón había caído postrado en tierra delante del arca de Jehová; y la cabeza de Dagón y las dos palmas de sus manos estaban cortadas sobre el umbral, habiéndole quedado á Dagón el tronco solamente.
And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

Por eso los sacerdotes de Dagón, y cuantos entran en la casa de Dagón en Azoto, no ponen el pie sobre el umbral de la puerta de Dagón, hasta el día de hoy.
Por esta causa los sacerdotes de Dagón, y todos los que en el templo de Dagón entran, no pisan el umbral de Dagón en Asdod, hasta hoy.
Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

Pero la mano de Yahvé pesaba mucho sobre los de Azoto, e hizo entre ellos estragos, hiriéndolos con tumores, tanto en Azoto como en su territorio.
Empero agravóse la mano de Jehová sobre los de Asdod, y destruyólos, é hiriólos con hemorroides en Asdod y en todos sus términos.
But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

Viendo los hombres de Azoto lo que pasaba, decían: “¡No quede entre nosotros el Arca del Dios de Israel!, porque su mano pesa sobre nosotros y sobre Dagón, nuestro dios.”
Y viendo esto los de Asdod, dijeron: No quede con nosotros el arca del Dios de Israel, porque su mano es dura sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestro dios Dagón.
And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

Convocaron, pues, a todos los príncipes de los filisteos para que se reunieran con ellos, y preguntaron: “¿Qué haremos con el Arca del Dios de Israel?” Respondieron: “Pásese el Arca del Dios de Israel a Gat.” Pasaron, pues, el Arca del Dios de Israel.
Enviaron pues á juntar á sí todos los príncipes de los Filisteos, y dijeron: ¿Qué haremos del arca del Dios de Israel? Y ellos respondieron: Pásese el arca del Dios de Israel á Gath. Y pasaron allá el arca del Dios de Israel.
They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

Pero después de trasladarla descargó la mano de Yahvé sobre la ciudad, causando grandísimo espanto; pues hirió a los hombres de la ciudad, desde los chicos hasta los grandes, de modo que les brotaron tumores.
Y aconteció que como la hubieron pasado, la mano de Jehová fué contra la ciudad con grande quebrantamiento; é hirió los hombres de aquella ciudad desde el chico hasta el grande, que se llenaron de hemorroides.
And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

Entonces enviaron el Arca de Dios a Acarón. Mas apenas había llegado el Arca de Dios a Acarón, los acaronitas dieron gritos, exclamando: “¡Han pasado hasta nosotros el Arca del Dios de Israel para matarnos, a nosotros y a nuestro pueblo!”
Entonces enviaron el arca de Dios á Ecrón. Y como el arca de Dios vino á Ecrón, los Ecronitas dieron voces diciendo: Han pasado á mí el arca del Dios de Israel por matarme á mí y á mi pueblo.
Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

Llamaron, pues, a reunión a todos los príncipes de los filisteos; los cuales dijeron: “Devolved el Arca del Dios de Israel, y vuélvase ella a su lugar, para que no nos mate a nosotros y a nuestro pueblo.” Pues reinaba en toda la ciudad un terror mortal, porque la mano de Yahvé pesaba mucho sobre ella.
Y enviaron á juntar todos los príncipes de los Filisteos, diciendo: Despachad el arca del Dios de Israel, y tórnese á su lugar, y no mate á mí ni á mi pueblo: porque había quebrantamiento de muerte en toda la ciudad, y la mano de Dios se había allí agravado.
So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

Aun los que no morían, estaban llagados de tumores; y los gritos de la ciudad subieron al cielo.
Y los que no morían, eran heridos de hemorroides; y el clamor de la ciudad subía al cielo.
And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
