1 Samuel 27

Ma David diceva in cuor suo: Io cadrò o prima, o dopo nelle mani di Saul: non è egli meglio ch'io fugga, e mi salvi nel paese dei Filistei, affinchè Saul perduta ogni speranza, finisca di andar cercandomi per tutto il paese d'Israele? fuggirò adunque dalle sue mani.

Y DIJO David en su corazón: Al fin seré muerto algún día por la mano de Saúl: nada por tanto me será mejor que fugarme á la tierra de los Filisteos, para que Saúl se deje de mí, y no me ande buscando más por todos los términos de Israel, y así me escaparé de sus manos.

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

David said in his heart, “I will now perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel. So I will escape out of his hand.”

E David si mosse, e coi secento uomini, che eran seco, andò a trovare Achis figliuolo di Maoch, re di Geth.

And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

E David fece sua dimora con Achis in Geth, egli, e la sua gente, ciascuno colla sua famiglia, ed erano con David le sue due mogli. Achinoam di Jezrael, e Abigail vedova di Nabal del Carmelo.

Y moró David con Achîs en Gath, él y los suyos, cada uno con su familia: David con sus dos mujeres, Ahinoam Jezreelita, y Abigail, la que fué mujer de Nabal el del Carmelo.

And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.

E Saul riseppe, come David era fuggito in Geth, e non si mosse più per cercarlo.

Y vino la nueva á Saúl que David se había huído á Gath, y no lo buscó más.

And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.

Ma David disse ad Achis: Se io ho trovata grazia negli occhi tuoi, siami dato luogo in una delle città di questa regione per abitarvi: imperocché a qual fine starà teco il tuo servo nella città del re?

Y David dijo á Achîs: Si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, séame dado lugar en algunas de las ciudades de la tierra, donde habite: porque ¿ha de morar tu siervo contigo en la ciudad real?

And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

David said to Achish, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?”

Achis pertanto gli assegnò subito Siceleg, e in questo modo Siceleg diventò città de' regi di Giuda, com'è anche adesso.

E il tempo che David passò nel paese de' Filistei fu di quattro mesi.

E David si mosse colla sua gente, e mettevano saccomanno Gessuri, e Gerzi e gli Amaleciti: perocché quei borghi in quel paese erano abitati anticamente sulla strada di Sur sino al paese di Egitto.

Y subía David con los suyos, y hacían entradas en los Gesureos, y en los Gerzeos, y en los Amalecitas: porque estos habitaban de largo tiempo la tierra, desde como se va á Shur hasta la tierra de Egipto.

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.

E David desolava tutto quel paese, e non vi lasciava vivo nè uomo, nè donna: e prendendo le pecore, e i bovi, e gli asini, e icammelli, e le suppellettili, se ne tornava a trovare Achis.

Y hería David el país, y no dejaba á vida hombre ni mujer: y llevábase las ovejas y las vacas y los asnos y los camellos y las ropas; y volvía, y veníase á Achîs.

And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.

David struck the land, and saved no man or woman alive, and took away the sheep, the cattle, the donkeys, the camels, and the clothing. Then he returned, and came to Achish.

E Achis diceagli: In qual parte hai tu oggi portata la guerra? Rispondea David: Verso la parte meridionale di Giuda, verso la parte meridionale di Jerameel, e verso la parte meridionale di Ceni.

Y decía Achîs: ¿Dónde habéis corrido hoy? Y David decía: Al mediodía de Judá, y al mediodía de Jerameel, ó contra el mediodía de Ceni.

And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.

Achish said, “Against whom have you made a raid today?” David said, “Against the South of Judah, against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.”

David non lasciava la vita a nissun uomo, o donna, nè alcuno ne conduceva Geth, dicendo: Potrebbero parlare contro di noi. Così fece David; e questo fu il suo costume per tutto il tempo che abitò nel paese de' Filistei.

Ni hombre ni mujer dejaba á vida David, que viniese á Gath; diciendo: Porque no den aviso de nosotros, diciendo, Esto hizo David. Y esta era su costumbre todo el tiempo que moró en tierra de los Filisteos.

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

Per la qual cosa Achis avea fidanza in Davidde, e diceva: Egli ha fatto gran male al suo popolo d'Israele: ei sarà dunque per sempre mio servo. I Filistei armano contro Saulle, e Davidde promette ad Achis di essergli fedele in questa guerra. Saulle, che avea già uccisi i maghi, consulta la Pitonissa, ordinandole di far apparir Samuele, del quale è avvisato della prossima morte sua, e de' suoi.

Y Achîs creía á David, diciendo así: El se hace abominable en su pueblo de Israel, y será siempre mi siervo.

And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
